Ulric had made a point to listen for any mention of the forest from older students. But he hadn't gotten much information so it seemed like he'd have to go in himself. It was strange that he found the prospect of going into the forest was rather exciting, instead of terrifying. He was much more nervous going into the great hall for breakfast every morning. But he had always been more comfortable on his own especially when it came to nature. He walked along the edge of the woods and hoped no one would notice him trying to go inside. He wondered if he'd be able to find mushrooms on any fallen logs. The weather was warming up so he liked his chances.

While Victoria had been continuously having new experiences and life at school had been far from boring until now there was one thing in particular that she hadn't been able to shake off ever since it was mentioned. The forbiden forest. Why was it forbidden? What in there could be dangerous? And why did the forest seem unguarded when it was so close to the school? Surely that meant things couldn't be that bad. There was only one way to figure that out for herself though and that was to sneak in. Although she doubted 'sneak' was the right term to use when it felt like any student could just walk into the forest. Maybe they should actually try and make it inaccessible if it was off-limits. With a little bit of magic she reckoned that couldn't be too difficult. As she wandered near the edge of the forest Vic noticed someone else doing the same, not even waiting to see if he was actually planning to enter the forest before catching up to him. "You know you're really playing with fire here." She spoke up with as much of stern voice as she could muster, still a step or two behind and slightly hoping it might startle him. "Walking this close to the edge might make people think you're planning on heading in." She added with a small grin to show she wasn't actually telling him off.

Eris knew that her sister Mania had been to the forest, a few times at that. She also knew the girl had yet to be caught in doing so, which meant she had a good chance of slipping in unnoticed too. However as she got to the edge of the forest she noticed some other first years had had the same idea, she was even glad to see that one of them was Ulric if she wasn't completely mistaken. "Ooh, we having a firstie field trip?" Eris asked as she reached the two, though since the other girl was a bit behind the Hufflepuff she had stopped behind her so they kind of probably looked like they were in a queue for some carnival ride.

Hope ya don't mind another joiner for the trip!

Ulric felt his heart leap in his chest when he heard the voice of a girl behind him. He recognized her as a fellow first year but her words had him instantly on guard. Was she going to turn him in? He hadn't even officially crossed into the tree line, he could hardly get in trouble for walking next to the forest. "I- I was just-" he stammered but as she smiled at him it slowly dawned on him that she was joking and he relaxed slightly. Not completely, but his rational mind caught up with him and he realized it wasn't as if she was a prefect who could actually get him in trouble without admitting to doing the same thing he was. When he saw Eris approach he felt instantly more at ease. "Eris." he said as he exhaled. But her question had him nervous again darting his eyes between the two girls. "Are we?" he asked, hoping someone else would take the lead. As much as he wanted to explore the forest being responsible for making that choice felt much heavier now.

It was always Rose this or Rouge that, to the point that Blanc was pretty sure most people in the school had forgotten who he was. Being the only boy in his family sucked, and even now that he was in his second year at school he didn't think he'd made any real friends. There were one or two that pretended to be his friend but he didn't believe them, and others that were trying to tell him to even be friends with in the first place.

The Gryffindor peered through the trees when he heard someone's voice; we having a firstie field trip? Blanc was scowling at the group a little in the distance, wondering if they even knew he was here. He sort of recognised one from his own house but he didn't know any of their names. They probably would think he was a first year too. "You're not going to find anything dangerous, if that's what you're worried about," Blanc announced as he emerged from the bushes, a confidence on his side that wasn't entirely warranted.

Victoria grinned when her classmate stumbled over what he wanted to say, although he could hardly say what he had wanted to say when someone else joined them. She seemed interested in heading into the forest as well, so there was no way Vic was going come back from her decision to visit the forest today. "Oh, we are." She nodded. There was this keenness in her to walk past that tree line. To explore. See what all the fuss was about. Just as she was about to take that first step another student emerged from the bushes, startling her. "Jeez!" Vic huffed as she placed her hand on her heart in a jokingly exaggerated reaction. "How long have you been there?" She questioned as she squinted her eyes at him a little. Where had he even come from? "We're definitely not worried though. Right guys?" She asked the other two as if they had been friends for ages. And yet she couldn't even recall their names from class. "You wanna come with?" She then added towards the boy that had just joined them. The more the merrier.

Eris gave a small smile and nod when Ulric noticed her, glad to see him around again. When he returned her question with a question and the Gryffindor girl answered that they were indeed going in Eris' smile grew. "Finally of something of interest!" She got out before a fourth party joined them, glancing his way she wasn't quite sure if she knew him. He didn't look like either of her sisters friends, but then again she had only seen one of Gaia's friends so far. "Oh absolutely not!" Eris confirmed with a nod and grabbed the Gryffindor girls' arm as though they'd been friends for long indeed. She only remembered Ulric's name though and it wasn't a name she'd had to pick up in class thankfully. "We'll all go." She said having made her mind up about all four of them going and nodding towards the forest.

Ulric jumped as another voice joined them. He turned and saw a slightly older boy and felt his face flush a bright red. He bristled slightly at his presence even though his words were a comfort. So much for a quiet trip into the forest. He was emboldened by the Gryffindor girl's confidence and he stood up a bit straighter. "Yes, not worried at all." he said with a curt nod. He wasn't sure if he sounded sure of himself but he didn't dwell on that. He frowned slightly when the girl asked if the other boy wanted to join them. It was one thing when she had found him, and another when Eris found them. He liked Eris, and trusted her. But this boy? What was his deal? Had he been following them? Did he plan on getting them in trouble the moment they crossed the boundary into the forest? He glanced nervously between the girls and would reluctantly follow their lead. He stiffened as Eris invited him along. "Let's not waste time." he said and tugged on the ends of his sleeves before walking into the forest.
