Charmaine had been ecstatic the past few days. She hadn't seen the bullies she had encountered recently and she was most grateful for that, added to the fact that she had already begun to join clubs that she thought that she would be having fun at. She'd already made a friend at her house one was the same year as her and one was older than her by quite a few years, but she didn't mind. A friend is a friend no matter the age or the looks she always believed. She was quite contented to be with the company of others as long as they don't insult her or treat her as though she was nothing because she wasn't exactly much showing her appreciation when others make her remember her experiences in muggle school when she can't tell which was worse. Muggle bullies or magical bullies.

Raine's thoughts were disrupted as she out of nowhere decided to head to the courtyard today. She had only been there once and hadn't really spent much time there and so, she was more than willing to go at the moment, after all, she had no classes today and was just lazing around till she could find something better to do. And this little walk seemed to be more worthwhile than laying in bed, and so she quickly dressed herself enough to look presentable before heading down to the courtyard. Although, she wished that she should have asked Davina to go with her since most of the people there were either in pairs or in groups and she was the only one alone. Well, she was already there so there was really no point in going back now, and so she could lean on a wall and watch others interact happily while she could only stare at them in envy and a tinge of sadness and loneliness.

Now that Case was at Hogwarts he finally felt like he was living his life the way his father wanted him to. With one glaring exception of course. Casey was coming terms with being in Slytherin but he was still at the stage of withdrawing himself from the common room at every possible moment. Exploring the castle had become a good excuse to not be among his fellow Slytherins. He decided to go out to the Courtyard, it was a part of the castle he had not spent a lot of time in but on a nice warm New Zealand day it was the perfect place to go and just relax. School was at that perfect stage where it had started but it hadn't become heavy so Casey still didn't feel the need to take one of his textbooks with him.

The courtyard wasn't very populated when he arrived, as he looked around at the people that were there he assumed that most people would be in their common room getting to know each other. Casey preferred to be outside, at least if he was outside he would have a better chance of running into Alison, or make another friend from a different house. He had met some nice people in Slytherin and they had softened his prejudice about his house but all in all he wanted to get to know more people of other houses. As he looked around at the people in the Courtyard he couldn't help but notice that most people were in groups or pairs and then there was one girl, an attractive blonde first year leaned against a wall. She was alone and looking around. As Casey was also alone he made his way over to her and leaned against the wall at her side. "Enjoying the fresh air?" He asked.

Charmaine had been quite enjoying her time at the Courtyards although she had to admit that it would have been more fun with a friend around, especially if some of the bullies she had met suddenly arrive at the place and see her. That would have been very bad on the Hufflepuff's part, she really didn't appreciate those encounters and frankly speaking, she wasn't even hoping for another meeting with those guys for she could never really know what they were up to next. As much as Raine could, she wanted to evade, escape or run away from those guys the moment she sees them even if it would be rude because she was scared of what might happen should she stay.

Thoughts were suddenly interrupted when suddenly, a boy her age had approached her. Raine had almost jumped from that as she wasn't really expecting someone to actually go to her and talk to her. Wait. Maybe this boy was one of those bullies? She quickly dismissed that thought since the boy didn't really ridicule her from the first minute, so maybe he wasn't such a bad guy after all? But that didn't really change the fact the Charmaine didn't know what to do. She had been to an all-girls muggle school and boys had been bullying her in Hogwarts. How was she supposed to act?! She extremely had no idea. Sure she had a brother, but that was very different! "Y-yeah," was all Charmaine could say, shyness quite filling her being.

Part of Casey regretted approaching the girl as soon as he had. She seemed shy and almost flinched when he spoke to her. Casey didn't know the girl but he knew that she must have been going through a hard time to be as on edge as she was. He wanted her to know that he wasn't there to bully her, he was just there to be friendly and welcoming. "Are you ok?" You seem a little on edge?" He asked wondering if she was the girl he had heard about. Harsh words had been spread around the first year class about a Hufflepuff who had become the shared victim of the schools bullies, Casey thought it was horrible but there hadn't been anything he could do without knowing who the girl was, if this was her then he would finally be able to step in and help her. He hated bullies, Casey had never been bullied herself but he had been friends with people who had and he'd seen first hand what bullying did to people. He didn't know this girl standing in front of him, but he didn't want her to become like the people he'd known.

Raine was at lost on what to do. Should she run now? No. That would be rude. Should she act energetically? But how? She was still a bit uncomfortable of the situation. Yes the boy didn't ridicule her the first minute, but what if he insults her within the next moments? What Charmaine was supposed to think of the boy, she didn't know. But as soon as the boy had asked her if she was alright, she immediately regretted her recent thoughts of the boy being a bully. "Y-yeah. I'm okay," the young girl replied, smiling lightly although the shyness still evident in her whole being. Despite knowing that the boy beside her wouldn't do anything harmful to her, she still couldn't hide the fact that she was shy since even if she ignored the fact that boys were the one bullying her, she also had little to no experience communicating with boys that aren't her brother. This was going to be hard for the Hufflepuff indeed.
