With Ruto doing nothing but complaining and sitting at home all day, her mother had suggested she join a scouts group. Why on earth would Ruto want to do that? To be fair, she didn't even know what a scouts group was, but it definitely sounded boring. As far as she knew, it was just a group of people that followed particular routines, but Ruto wasn't like that. She preferred spontaneity and going on adventures as she wanted to. She never really liked it when people told her what to do, so she wasn't really happy when her mother forced her to attend a trial scouts meeting. It would definitely not take her mind off her father, not one bit, and she just knew it.

Ruto stuck her tongue out at her mother before turning around and following all of the other kids down to the bottom of the hill to the park. Older leaders were there, ready to talk to them about the scouts group, as well as some already existing members. "How do you guys even put up with this..." Ruto mumbled as she gathered around. She was just not in a good mood.

Thistle always liked the start of a term, when new kids came to join the Niffler scouts. Some of them were moving up from the Puffskeins, and some others closer to her age seemed to just have come along for a look. It was always a good chance to make new friends, and she looked around at the new kids curiously. When she heard one girl nearby grumbling, Thistle gave her a Look. "Because it's fun!" She explained, moving closer, hoping she could bring the stranger around. "We do lots of cool stuff, like crafts and hiking and telling stories and stuff."

Roo was a bit taken aback when a girl had suddenly spoken to her. She played with the bracelet on her wrist a little nervously as she came up with a response. One part of what the girl said really did stick out to her however. "What sort of stories?" she asked, wondering if they were just stories or if they told of real events. Ruto could definitely get amongst telling stories, as long as they weren't too silly and were backed up with facts. It would definitely help her learn and won't be a waste of time if so.
