It was a cool evening when Alexis stepped out of the tower. She was on her way for patrols and wondered whether she would be joined by @Alistair Lancaster. Her Slytherin partner would just show up to make sure they saw each other before venturing off on her own. They had never talked beyond polite greetings. Whenever they patrolled side by side, he never spoke a word and Alexis would just let him have his silence. The Ravenclaw has learned not to force people to talk until they were comfortable enough to speak out first. When the HM issue came out, despite the short article about her involving her best friend and boyfriend, Alexis did not fail to read the one involving him rumored to be a werewolf. Since then, she was more observant of his routine and behavior and realized the reasons why he preferred to be silent and even go alone. People would say she should stay away from him, saying he was dangerous. However, Alexis paid no attention to their warnings. Alistair had never hurt her and she was confident that he was still the same person whether he was a werewolf or not.
The prefect had reached the sixth floor and looked around for any sign of the boy. Thinking he was already there and went in one direction, she started to slowly walk, hands in her sweatshirt pockets. Blue eyes were scanning the corners and the rooms she passed by while her ears were trying to pick up sounds that were not to supposed to be heard. Her mind was drifting away from the present that she failed to notice that someone was walking behind her.

Alistair didn't enjoy patrols, or much of any other aspect that came with being a prefect, but he had to admit that the pseudo-authority may have been a contributing factor to why he'd survived as long in the school as he had, especially now that people were talking about him and his condition. It was either the fear of losing house points, or the fear of being bitten by him that seemed to quell some of the comments he could feel directed at him through the eyes of a few of those he passed in the corridors. He didn't know which fear was better to lean on. He wasn't a monster, but if acting like one was what kept people from coming for him, there was a temptation to perpetuate the stereotype.

'Stair arrived on the sixth floor a little later than he had meant to, and noticed Alexis already ahead of him, walking in the opposite direction. He'd gone off on his own before too, but now that the Monthly had published its article, he had to wonder if she wanted to keep away from him too. The Slytherin strode casually behind her, taking a leisurely pace to begin with until he eventually caught up to her, his body language closed off and defensive to err on the side of caution. If she sped up, and a part of him anticipated it, he figured he was more than happy to go off on his own again. He hadn't asked for or wanted a partner in the first place. If not, then...well, he didn't really know. He supposed he'd be as quiet as he usually was.

i'm so sorry i forgot about this
