Maggie was very proud of herself for having completed all the riddles, which had ended in the best birthday present of them all. She was looking forward to the other events of Halloween too, and even if they weren't going to be at the feast for very long, Maggie was glad that this time she was attending with Ro and things between them were at a good spot. She dressed in a cropped black vest top and black skinny jeans, adding just a little pair of cat ears and some cat whiskers. It was simple and easy and would be much less of a waste than some of the other costumes in the room. Maggie loved art, but she didn't see the point when she was only likely to wear it once, so this worked in her favour. The seventh year had waited in the common room for her partner, hoping that they'd walk up together. They hadn't actually discussed it this time round but she didn't think it would have been as fun to meet him there. They were in the same house after all and so why not just make the most of that? A few other people came past her on the way and she appreciated the amount of work that had gone into their outfits. Whether it was ideal for her or not, she could still admire it. Maggie was patient, they had plenty of time to enjoy their evening, and she was very much looking forward to letting her hair down.

It had taken Ro several weeks to perfect his game for Maggie and he was glad it had succeeded in the end as otherwise he might have been left standing with egg on his face, so to speak. He'd never particularly been a fan of dressing up though, so going to Halloween was more something he was doing given it was his last year and he could spend it properly with Maggie, also he birthday had not long passed, so this was a little something they could do together now that they were more official. He was in a pretty simple suit and he'd drawn whiskers on his face. He wasn't entirely sure if Maggie was dressing up, or what she would be wearing as neither of them were particularly strong planners, but that didn't matter. This was Halloween after all, it hardly required a strong plan in his opinion. Heading down from the dorms, he was a bit surprised to see Maggie had beaten him down and he smiled when he saw her. "You're a cute cat," he said lightly, still not used to this whole compliments thing, but he was getting better! He showed his affection for her more in actions, but he knew how difficult he was to interpret, so he'd been doing his best to be more vocal about it all. "I like your hair like that," he added after, making sure he was covering all of his bases. Honestly, he found comments on physical appearance to be rather shallow, but he knew most girls liked them, and why not tell Maggie he thought she looked nice? Despite thinking she always looked nice, she looked particularly nice tonight. He held his hand out to her, "wanna get going?"

The only judge that Maggie had on relationships, were that of her parents, and that of Chasers. Given that her parents had divorced a couple of years ago, and Chaser's relationship with Mini had been all over the place especially at the beginning, she was pretty apprehensive herself about whether she would ever be making the right choices. That being said, she knew her choice of Eutropia was a strong one, as well as one that she felt strongly about, and she would have to go with her gut for the rest of it. Ro caught her eye as he came down from the dormitories, and a smile excitedly appeared on her face not just because it was her boyfriend, but also because they appeared to have dressed up as the same thing. "Thank you," The brunette blushed a little, not used to being told she was cute by any means. "You know you are a cute cat too," she added, thinking the whiskers suited him. She smiled as he commented on her hair too, and slid her hand into his. "In a moment," The Pufflehuff said quietly, pulling lightly on his hand to tug him towards her, and taking a step back out of the way of the other students. Lightly moving her other arm around his waist, the seventh year lent up to gently press her lips against his. It was pretty new stage in their relationship but after spending two years pining for this boy, Ro so far had proved to be worth the wait. "Okay now we can go," she whispered after a few moments, her eyes smiling up at him.

When Maggie had mentioned she wasn't quite ready to head down yet, Ro had assumed that she had forgotten something, she didn't think much of it as she tugged him closer to her. Though he did raise a curious eyebrow to her as she stepped them out of the way of others, not that there were many, given most were at the party by now. "Maggie?" He asked as she moved her arm around his waist and leaned up to kiss him. He happily returned the kiss, glad they could do this now. Last year they'd been in something of a limbo, well, since they'd met they'd been in a limbo, not putting a label on anything kind of trying to infer with each other, which, as history would tell them had not gone well. He wrapped his arm around Maggie's shoulders as they stepped away and smiled. "Okay, now we go," smiling back down at her and leading them out of the common room. He really liked spending time with Maggie, she was just someone he knew he would miss when she was gone. She had some different classes to him and he missed her when she as in them and he wasn't, and it was the same for everything else. He had been trying to change for the better and he could only hope it was going the way he wanted it to.

It was fun now to be able to more free of her actions, and Maggie was enjoying have the chance to do things that until now had only ever existed in her head. She followed Ro out of the common room, at some point sliding her hand into his, so that by the time they actually made it to the Great Hall which was already considerably crowded, it was clear that they had nothing left to hide. Not from anyone nor one another. It was the last time they'd have together at Halloween, and Maggie wanted to make it extra memorable too. She hadn't realised until Ro had organised her a birthday scavenger hunt, just how many little things he picked up on, and every time she remembered the Pufflehuff found herself smiling again. Maggie released Ro's hand once they were inside, beckoning him over towards the drinks, taking two glasses and handing one to her boyfriend before resuming her position at his side. She sent him a wide smile, and a few moments later was using his shoulder as a resting point for her hand. "I spoke to Emily," she began, taking a sip of her drink and hoping Ro wasn't looking at what her hand was actually doing. "We want students to make their own decorations," Maggie tried to imagine the Yule Ball with the large Christmas tree, "It would be more personal that the students have a part of the Yule Ball too," she added, finally pulling her hand away, leaving a little tiny toy spider on her boyfriends shoulder.

There was a certain point in Ro's life where he'd had to seriously consider the implications of his friendship with Maggie, but whilst he'd been justifying her as nothing more than a friend, there wasn't much to worry about. Now though, the problems that were going to present themselves if he let their relationship be free, meant he had to think about keeping it close to his chest. He really enjoyed Maggie's company and he didn't care that she was a muggleborn, it meant nothing to him, but his parents had forgone giving him a betrothal match just so he could grow up relatively unburdened. He had a horrible thought that should his parents discover this, then they'd expedite the request. Not that he mentioned any of this to Maggie, this was his burden to bear and something he needed to deal with. Bringing her into it would only cause problems later down the line and this way, if he made a decision, he could be assured it wasn't her influence that made him make it. He was fine with his sister knowing, because she only wanted him to be happy, but that didn't mean she wouldn't fight him if she felt she needed too and the family didn't need another Agrippina/Octavian problem. Though both of them had gone on to marry purebloods, it wasn't something he cared about. Not like he cared about Maggie. He followed Maggie to the drinks, sipping it as she rested beside him, playing her hand on his shoulder. He didn't focus too much on that, and instead paid attention to what she was saying about Christmas. "Is she the one with the artsy club?" He asked, not quite sure if he was remembering the details correctly. Maggie had a lot of interests and things she was doing and keeping up with all of them was difficult sometimes, especially as he was getting to know her, but he was an observant person usually, so he was getting a lot better at it. "That could be fun I suppose," he said, shrugging only to feel something fall against his neck, which made him jump nearly twenty feet in the air. "Merlin! What the heck was that?!" He looked at the floor to see the spider, obviously fake, had landed stomach up and he immediately turned to Maggie, half hyperventilating and half laughing. "Oh, Merlin's Beard, did you have to do that?" he asked looking around to see if anyone had noticed. He wasn't exactly the draw attention to himself type. He wasn't greatly fond of spiders, or anything small and hairy, so having something random touch his neck had been momentarily terrifying. This was a side of Maggie he hadn't seen previously and he wasn't sure how he felt about her theatrics yet. "How long have you had that?"

"The artsy club?" Maggie frowned at Ro in confusion, "The Conglomorate? Yes, we both are." The Pufflehuff wasn't sure how Ro managed to know about Emily leading the club but not her, although it hadn't been fully back up and running yet, so it wasn't as though it was as known as the other clubs around the school. A few years ago Maggie never would have seen herself having the confidence to lead a club, or even a group of people, but it was good to know that this was a subject she was pretty good at and besides, she wouldn't be on her own. She'd written to Chaser to tell him too, although she hadn't heard back from her brother yet, assuming instead he'd been too busy with his own ventures to write yet. Suddenly Ro seemed to notice the spider that tickled his neck, and a large smile appeared on the girls mouth as she started to chuckle at him. "Happy Halloween!" she added whimsically, pleased of her own attempts to scare the pants off her boyfriend. Over time their friendship had relaxed, a least for Maggie, and besides a good prank every now and then never heard anyone. "Since we left the common room," she said, bending down to pick up the little spider, leaving it on the edge of one of the plates of food instead for another student to find. She pressed a finger to her lips with a glance to the seventh year, before moving a little out of the way to allow students to get past. "Maybe I should take some to work with me next too," she mused, curious to see if the little kids were as hasty about grabbing things in Honeydukes if there were spiders guarding the stock.

"Oh, yes sorry, you mentioned that to me," he said, frowning. Creativity was very much not his thing and so, if he was honest, anything in the artsy side of things blurred together for him. He was far more logic brained than he liked. It sort of suited him well for delay with Maggie who was more creative brained than he was and that suited him fine. She knew how to make things look good and be fun and he knew how to make things serious and understandable. He was good at translating gibberish to English and helping people understand complicated issues, thankfully. He shook he head as she shouted Happy Halloween and watched her stoop to pick up the spider. He should have known she might try something like that, he was going to have to keep his eye on her tonight apparently. "Just, please do not hide that in my bed tonight." He said smiling lightly at her as he looked around for Euthalia, but couldn't see her. He was pretty sure she was going to show up, she never missed a chance for a party, but it was true that she liked to show up to things late as well. "If you take them to work, will you sell anything, that is the important question I think."
