Transfiguration 5:4

Professor Lyra Potter had a huge cage of mice on her desk. She was sitting there next to them, but not too close. She had never been all that fond of rodents. When the students finally were settled in, she looked up and nodded to them all. "Good morning class!" Lyra said brightly at her fifth years.
Professor Potter moved in front of the class and spoke. "Today we are going to work with mice. These are a bit more difficult, since you need to not only make them disappear, but keep track of them until they are gone. The spell is the same, but you need to pay more attention to the parts of the mouse. We want to get them all now don't we?"
She moved to the cage, then began to call them up one by one to pick out a mouse. "There are plenty here, so please don't be too choosy. I have enough so if you wish to work with a second one, you may." Once everyone was seated again, she picked out her own mouse, and walked to the front of the class. Setting it down, she tapped her wand three times. "Evansesco!" The mouse disappeared mid stride as it tried to move away. "Ok. Get to work. I will be around to help if you need me."

Apolline walked into the transfiguration classroom and took her usual spot in the room. She glanced towards the professor and then towards the mice that the professor had for them to cast spells on. She nodded along to what the professor said - but given it was the same spell as the week before there wasn’t much new to it. Apolline took her wand and then pointed it at the mouse she had gotten. She then tapped it three times and said, ”Evanesco,”. It took a couple of tries before she managed it. She felt a little bad about vanishing the mouse but the the lesson was wrapped up and she left the room, leaving her feelings on it behind.

Unlike some students, Morrie didn't have a problem with practicing magic on animals. She picked out a mouse and got straight to work. "Evanesco" she said. She hadn't really focused properly and although most of the mouse did disappear, the tail didn't. Morrie gasped a little, then cast again to vanish the tail too. Once the lesson was over, Morrie tucked her wand away and left the classroom.

Kyousuke came to the classroom, confident in himself. He listened to the professor, and then prepared himself for casting the spell. Getting the mouse was easy, keeping it still was the challenge. For Kyousuke, it turned out he'd chosen quite a frisky one. He tried to keep it still, tried to get his wand pointed at the creature, but frustration began to get to him. "Stupid mouse," he muttered harshly to himself, finally managing to quickly exclaim an "Evanesco!" before the mouse vanished. No way was he doing that again. He was pleased once the lesson was over, glad to no longer have to deal with mice, and went on his way.

Violet was halfway through the semester now and she was happy about this. As much as she was excited for classes during the first week, she was definitely not excited for them now and was counting down the days until the completion of the semester. Classes soon became tiring, and also repetitive, and she just hoped the professors had some variety this week as she began heading to her classes.

Violet entered the Transfiguration classroom wondering what spell they were going to cast this time. As she took her seat and the professor began speaking, Violet was glad that it was the exact same spell as she had so many other things she needed to remember, and was just thankful to be building on what she already knew. When instructed, the Ravenclaw took out her wand and pointed it at the mouse, however it kept trying to run away from her. She held it down by its tail and used her wand in the other hand. "Evanesco." she said. The mouse disappeared, however it left behind its tail. She tried again, however the mouse kept trying to escape. She was beginning to become frustrated, especially as she saw some of her classmates around her were getting it easier than she was. Eventually, the mouse behaved and she was able to do what she needed to do before the end of the lesson.
