Transfiguration 5:2

Professor Lyra Potter was sitting at her desk, waiting patiently for her students to all arrive. On every desk there was a chalk board eraser. Some students seem puzzled when they noticed them, but no one commented. The woman smiled excitedly as she looked at her watch, deciding it was time to start the lesson.

"Let's get right to work, shall we? We are going to begin to vanish things this week. Shouldn't be too hard to practice on these - unlike future lessons, this week we will be working on things that don't move." She said with a hint of mystery, letting them wonder what they would be doing later in the term. Walking around the classroom, Lyra looked at her students, motioning to the object in front of them. "So, we are starting with erasers and will move up from there. This is a pretty straight forward spell, it just takes a bit more magic to work it than your normal transfiguration." Having made it back to her desk, Lyra picked up an eraser.

"The wand movement is the standard three tap method. You do not need to say the item that is being vanished, but you do need to focus on it. If you are not concentrating on the object, you may vanish the wrong thing." She said, then demonstrated the spell to them. Tapping the eraser three times, she then said "Evanesco!" and made the eraser disappear. Smiling brightly, she looked up to the class and spoke again. "There are enough extra erasers for you to practice again if you wish. I will be walking around if you need any help."

With that, she allowed the students to begin to work.

Homework: RP the lesson.

Winnie walked into the transfiguration classroom and took her usual spot in the room. She took out her notes and books and placed them down in front of her as the professor got started. They'd be doing the spell from the previous week. She took an eraser and listened to the professor tell them how to do it, before they were allowed to get started. Winnie held her wand, pointed it at the object. She tapped three times and then said. "Evanesco," She had to do the spell a few times before it took but then she got better and better at it. Eventually the lesson was wrapped up and Winnie headed out of the room.

Daiki walked into the transfiguration classroom and took his usual spot in the room. His gaze moved to the professor and took out his books and notes. he placed them down in front of him as the professor told them what they would be doing. he took an eraser as it was handed to him and he then took his wand. He nodded along to the instructions before the professor then let them get started. It took most of the lesson, but eventually Daiki was able to make the eraser vanish and he was feeling pretty good with having done it. He packed up and headed out of the room.

A chalk eraser was sitting on William’s desk when he made his way into the classroom for Transfiguration. His mom announced that they would be trying to make the erasers vanish using the incantation they had learned during the previous lesson. After a demonstration of the wand movement needed, William took out his wand and held it over the eraser. “Evanesco,” The eraser seemed to vanish on his first attempt, which was a relief to William. He kept trying for the rest of the lesson, and once it was over, he packed up his things and left the classroom.

Professor Potter didn’t waste any time getting things started once everyone was in place in the classroom. After learning about the basics of the vanishing spell in their previous lesson, they would put it to use by vanishing erasers. Nox took out his wand and practised the movement until he was comfortable trying the spell. It took him a few attempts before he eventually managed to vanish the eraser. Once the lesson was over, he packed away his things and made his way out of the classroom.

Lilith walked to the Transfiguration classroom with her books hugged tight against her chest. The second week of lessons had kicked off fairly well and given that Transfiguration was her favourite subject the Ravenclaw was in good spirits as she took a seat in the classroom. Listening to Professor Potter Lili watched keenly as the woman demonstrated today's spell to them. It seemed easy enough but in all fairness if the last four years had taught the prefect anything it was that even the most simple looking spells could surprise you with their difficulty.

She glanced around the room before focusing back down on the eraser that had been sat at her desk from the start. Keeping in mind that she needed to focus on the very thing she wanted to vanish the Ravenclaw shut everything but the all too clean, probably freshly out of the packet, eraser in front of her before pointing her wand at it. Repeating the most familiar of wand movements, the three tap method, as she cast the spell with a soft voice. "Evanesco." Lilith was quite glad to see that the spell had really just been a simple one as the eraser vanished from the desk on the first try. Lilith walked to the front to take one more of the extra erasers, figuring her time would be best spent practicing the spell at least once more, just to make sure she got it down. As she repeated the process once more and it went without any issues, Lili was happy to call it a day. Glancing at the clock she realized the class had also ran its course and with packing her things up the fifth year was swiftly out of the door.
