Transfiguration 5:1

Professor Lyra Potter stood at the front of the class, anxiously waiting for her students to arrive. The brunette was thrilled to be back in the castle. Lyra knew this was an important year for the fifth years. It was the year they sat their OWL exams. The were going to be under the most pressure that they will have had at school so far, and she wanted them to feel prepared. She smiled at them all as they entered the room.

"Welcome back to Transfiguration. I am Professor Lyra Potter, and I will be your professor for the next three years. I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you better. Please know, my door is always open if you need anything. " Lyra said, introducing herself. She clapped her hands together before moving around the room. "This year we will be learning yet another new type of spell.. You need to be ready to sit your OWLs later on this year and these are going to be on the exam." She flicked her wand at the board and the words Vanishing Spells appeared in block printing. "Vanishing Spells are an interesting sort of magic. They are used to make something disappear, just like their name says." She gave the class a look that let them know that she knew just how obvious she was being. "Now, we are going to discuss a bit of theory, then get into the pronunciation of the spell and how to use it."

Professor Potter took a few steps forward, walking to the front of her desk. "Now, Vanished items are gone. They are moved into nothingness. They are not just made to be invisible, but instead actually disappear. There is some discussion on whether they are actually transferred to another plane of existence, but that is still being researched through the Ministry, and we won't dwell on it. My Transfiguration Professor when I was in school used to say that the items go into non-being, which is everything. So you may choose to believe that the items we will vanish this term are now part of everything, or you may believe they are simply gone. That I will leave up to you to decide what makes most sense for you until the Ministry tells us otherwise." She smiled at her students, then walked back to the board.

She tapped the board and the words disappeared and new words appeared.
Evanesco Pronounced "ev-an-ES-ko"

"This is the spell we will be using this term. I would like everyone to say it with me." The class repeated the spell with Lyra three times. "Wonderful. I do believe you are all saying it correctly. Now, we will be starting out small next week, moving on to larger and more difficult objects for vanishing as the term progresses. As always, if there are any questions, feel free to contact me. My office door is always open." She smiled brightly at the students, then motioned to them they were dismissed. "No homework this week. You are dismissed. We will get right to work next time so make sure you bring your wands. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by for a chat on the way out."

With that, Professor Potter moved to sit down at her desk, preparing her lesson for the next class.

Please rp the lesson. Most of this year's class points will be based on your rps

Winnie walked into the transfiguration classroom and took her usual spot in the room. Her gaze moved to the professor at the front of the room as the woman got started. She took her quill and parchment and wrote down that they would be doing vanishing spells, she wrote down where it was supposed that vanished items went, and then she got down the incantation which appeared on the board. The lesson then wrapped up without them doing the spell and she packed up her things and left the room.

Daiki walked into the transfiguration classroom and took his usual spot in the classroom. He glanced at the professor as the woman got started on what they were covering within this lesson and it seemed to be on what they'd be covering in the future lessons within this class. He took a few notes and then the lesson was wrapped up and Daiki packed up his things and left the room.

Lilith had been looking forward to getting back into Transfiguration, though she had to admit she was feeling rather hesitant about the fact there was a new professor for that too. Every other subject she could handle but Transfiguration was somewhat sacred for her and the change in professor felt extra hard on it. It could also be because of how she'd grown to look up to Professor Pirrip as a mentor as well as a Professor. At least switching Professors for the classes didn't mean she had to switch the one she was doing her training with as well.

Walking into the classroom the prefect gave a quick smile to the professor before looking around the classroom for a place to sit. She settled in the front row of seats pretty quickly as was custom to her especially in Transfiguration. This was the one class she'd never want to jeopardize her chances of learning in and thus she was sort of glad her boyfriend or best friends weren't there. Not that they would have really been a distraction anyways.

Focusing on the Professor as she began speaking Lilith's eyes sparked with interest at the mention of new type of spells. Last year had been more challenging than the years before that and Lilith had almost lost her faith in herself due to the challenges around her life at school and outside of it, but the succeeding had been rewarding and she was excited to learn more. She paid attention to Professor Potter and made sure to make notes of the important parts the woman was saying, no matter how much she'd read into the year's topics it was still a lot different hearing it from a Professor.

Repeating the spell thrice with the Professor Lilith was a little bummed when the woman revealed they'd not practice yet this week, but promised that next week they'd get into work. As the lesson wrapped up Lilith packed her things up and made her way out of the room. "Thank you, see you next week Professor." Lilith said to the woman on her way out. It hadn't been that bad, she actually quite liked the new Professor too and was excited to see what the woman would teach them.

William made his way into his mother’s classroom and took his seat. She quickly began the lesson by discussing the theory behind the vanishing spell, and he started taking notes, including the incantation once it appeared on the board. Once the lesson was over, William gathered his notes and made his way out of the classroom when they were dismissed.

Esme knew that Professor Potter was technically her aunt, but she hadn’t had much of a chance to develop a relationship with that part of the family. She made her way into the Transfiguration classroom and took her seat to listen to her aunt. They were covering the vanishing spell. Esme took some notes on the spell, which included the incantation. Once the lesson was over, she packed up the notes she had made and made her way out of the classroom.

Nox made his way into Transfiguration, giving his aunt a warm greeting as he walked past her on his way to his seat. He sat and listened as Professor Potter told them they would be learning the vanishing spell during the semester, and told them all about the mechanics of vanishing items. Nox took notes on the information they were given about vanishing, including the incantation. Once the lesson was over, Nox packed up his things and made his way out of the classroom.
