Evander was a Slytherin. He did not mind this choice, as he knew of the houses, from what his relatives had told him, and both said that they did not mind the house of Slytherin. He too, did not mind it, although living under a lake wasn't really his style - but he had seen the amount of steps that led to the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor towers, and he was glad he wasn't going up all of those. He would never, ever get up all those stairs. He would have to get someone to piggy-back him up there, because his legs simply wouldn't do it.
Evader was probably the shortest person here, and would probably be the shortest for a while. He had seen maybe one other short person, but some people were just small. Evader was only 2 feet and seven (and a quarter) inches. Easily less than half the size of most of the students in his year, and all the other years, for that matter. Sometimes, he was mistaken for a small child. That was the worst of it, being thought of as a little toddler or something. The Slytherin walked into the library, deciding that he had had enough of the outdoors. Everyone seemed to be outside these days, and he had no desire to lurk around and talk to people - libraries were quiet places, so no-one should be here.
With his pointed ears clearly seen through his hair, Evander looked up at the bookshelves. He was not sure what he wanted to read, but he wanted to read something. Being proud, however, Evander refused to hunt down the librarian so they could get him his desired book. Not when these shelves looked about ready to be climbed. So, the part-goblin began to climb as best he could, one shelf at a time. There were only five shelves. He would hopefully get past the second one soon.
