it was Taras last halloween. over the last few years she had been at a bit of a stump for costumes but this year she had had an idea. it had been aided with the fact that she had worked in france over the holidays and therefore been pays at french wages which compared to india was a lot so she had plenty of money most of it she had given to her parents and brother so he could go to the temples and they could support them selves, but there was still plenty for her to get some nice clothes, and it also helped that her boss had a brilliant eye for fashion and they spent a few afternoons looking through markets. she had actually got herself a rather nice wardrobe of both indian and western things. tonight she had decided to go full out indian and dress in a traditional dancers costume. she had learned some of the basic traditional dances at school when she was young and remembered the basic steps. which would certainly add to the effect. she finished her make up. she could have gone a lot more over the top but decided that she didn't really want to instead she want more simple. her long hair was braided in a way more fancy than she usually had it with gold added to it standing out bright against the black. she was in a pink sari tied in a way to enable dancing with a belt at the waist. she had enjoyed the getting ready as well as the feast. now it was the party time. she got up and stood at the edge of the room looking to see if she could find anyone she knew who she had some how managed to loose in amongst the people, or looking for some new people she could get to know.

Klaus Smile was not a very creative person. His Halloween costume was an easy on that only required make-up. Klaus had read a few books on how do do makeup, so he was all set for the Halloween feast. After taking thirty minutes to put a scar over his left eye, it did not take him long to get dressed. The wing tattoo on his right arm was out proudly. Before, he was not very fond of showing his tattoo in public. Now, it was different. He was Kennedy. Kennedy's wing tattoo was on his left arm though, and he was not afraid to show it. His brother had an ego and pride. Klaus did not. He was humbler than most people. He did not silently look down on people. He did not think he was better than anyone. He was still improving. He was always getting better at being Klaus Marquis Smile. No one could be like him because he was always changing, and that was not because he was emotional. He slowly made his way down from his House and to the Great Hall. He did not understand why the Gryffindor's had to be so high up. It was fatal to go up a ton of stairs when he was extremely tired. He did not even have a ton of energy like all the first years he saw running around.

Klaus entered the Great Hall. It was decorated lavishly, as usual. He found himself hungry. A trip from the Gryffindor House was always able to give someone an appetite. He looked around to see where the food table was. He could easily see over people, so he had no trouble finding it. He looked to his side and down to see a girl. He had a hard time figuring out what she was dressed as. She looked Indian, but he hated assuming things. He gently poked the girl in the shoulder. "What are you supposed to be?" he asked the girl kindly. He had to admit, she looked pretty, but relationships were so overrated.

Tara looked up as someone approached her. she couldn't help looking up he was giant. possibly part giant lie there had been a few students last year. he looked like one of the grew students who didn't dress up. "I am A traditional indian dancer" she said putting her hands together and bowing slightly. she smiled. she wasn't really showing off she just liked dressing up in pretty clothes. and she was proud of her heritage. "what are you dressed as if you don't mind me asking who are you dressed as?" she asked. wondering who this boy was dressed as maybe someone famous.
she was pretty sure the boy was in some classes as her, but they had never really met before. even after a few years it was better to introduce herself now "I don't think we have met before. I'm Tara, Tara Stara" she said offering her hand to shake.

Mel floated through the Great Hall, a slight smile on her face. It was odd for Mel to be smiling, because usually she was as gloomy as Hogwarts Scotland's Moaning Myrtle. However, tonight Mel was actually quite pleased. Halloween had always been her favourite event of the year, even more than birthdays or Christmas. She supposed it had something to do with being a witch, and being able to reveal yourself to the Muggle world, and they just think that you're going trick or treating. Her smile widened she shook her head as she remembered how one of her friends, Anna, a muggle-born, had always been shocked about magic, and had attempted to dismiss her accidental magic as a figment of her imagination. Her smile dimmed slightly as she remembered Anna and all of her friends at Hogwarts... How they were still alive, and probably had started their own families by now, and here she was, haunting a school for the rest of her life.

A group of students stopped her, and began talking to her, and her smile returned full force. Nothing would ruin this night for her. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a boy and a girl about her age, and floated over to them, curiously. The girl had a colourful, unusual costume on that made Mel curious. She wasn't sure exactly what the costume was of though... 'That's a colourful costume you're wearing!' she exclaimed. 'What is it that you're dressed as if you don't mind me asking?'
