Being in Slytherin was the last thing that Zayne ever wanted. It was one thing to be a pure-blood in the eyes of his step-mother. It was one thing to really get involved with her, but he had no choice seeing as this was his father's wife. Zayne wanted ever to so much to see what it was like to have a real mother, but that was just out of the question for him. Zayne was hating his life right now, because he was a Slytherin, and why was that? His step-mother hated Slytherins and she hated pure-bloods. Both of them combined, Zayne would never hear the end of it. His gray eyes stared at the floor as he leaned against the wall of the dungeons. Light, dim lights glowed around him, his face illuminating by the light orange glow. His dark hair fanned around his face and he slowly slid down the wall and rested his legs across from his torso. He was stretched out, but he truly did not know what to do, let alone what he was doing here anyway. Zayne never wanted to go to Hogwarts, but he just did not care anymore. Because of him being a pure-blood, all the yelling had really made him rather apathetic about the school.

But why did the Hat send him into Slytherin? Did he really fit the profile? Zayne thought over his own personality, and he thought he would have made a better Hufflepuff. He was shy, never talked to anyone, and now, he was in Slytherin where a lot of snobs and judgmental people resided. Did he really fit here? Zayne did not know, but obviously the hat knew more than the eleven-year-old did. Zayne let out a soft sigh and he hoped for the best around here. Maybe he would make a friend or two. He did not want a lot, but he wanted someone to at least talk to about things. However, he never wanted anyone to know what he was. Zayne glanced up the dungeons and he thought that he heard something. Zayne narrowed his gray eyes and saw that it was just a second year Slytherin walking through the dungeons. Zayne moved his legs up to his chest and he sat there wondering if he would bother anyone just sitting here.

Kaia Lutrova was never a fan of dungeons. For one it was a lot darker down here then she preferred so it made it hard to see and it gave off a very creepy feeling that she wasn't accustomed to until just recently. If it hadn't been for her brother and her father that had recently adopted her then might have never been around dark and creepy things in her lifetime. It was still so hard to think about how big the world is compared to herself. There was a lot she hadn't seen yet and that just had to deal with school, not to mention how big the outside world was. Today would be one of those days where she tried to explore another part of the castle until she grew bored. Kaia had no friends so it wasn't like she could hang out with them instead, or even have them join her so she wouldn't look so lonely and everything. Being friendless was hard actually. Not only did it make the other kids think that she was mean or something, but it was a very lonely and boring process. No one to talk to when she needed advice or someone to cheer her up. No one to sit with when she was eating lunch, in class, and even when she was studying somewhere outside the Common Room. It made her feel really shy and conscious about herself. The other Ravenclaws had yet to even make an attempt to talk to her and make her feel welcome. So she was down here alone wishing she had someone to hang out with and keep her company. But as she was growing used to it and the feeling it wasn't like she was going to go and cry about it. Inside the young Ravenclaws hand was a stack of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Before coming down to the Dungeons she prowled around the kitchen's for something to eat because she had accidentally forgotten to get something for lunch. The House-elves that worked at the school were more than pleased to give her some of the cookies when she asked them nicely. For being remotely ugly and everything they were terrifyingly sweet creatures. And their baking skills was through the roof, they reminded her of the way Kallisto's tasted whenever she got around to making them. Which hadn't been in years. A cookie was popped into Kaia's mouth as she walked along the Dungeons. It was quiet and there seemed to be no other students around right now. About halfway down the hallway though Kaia paused. Her lavender eyes were fixed upon something right now.

There was a small mouse scurrying across the floor of the Dungeon. It was a dark rusty brown color and it looked rather small in size to Kaia. However it sort of reminded her of her pet rat that she had purchased this year. It squeaked in a pause and Kaia smiled before she bent down and broke off a piece of her cookie and held it down for the mouse to take. It took a moment of just sitting there before the silly thing finally took the piece of cookie, shoved it into it's mouth and left in a scurry. Kaia's eyes rolled before she lifted her head. About halfway from her eyes being lifted she paused when she saw a boy sitting against the wall of the Dungeons. He looked either upset or very lonely right now. Kaia wasn't exactly able to tell. Her purple eyes gleamed as she stepped closer to him and bit her lip. Was he okay? "Hey...are you okay?" Kaia asked as she took another bite of the cookie she had been working on eating for the past few minute's or so, even with a portion missing because of the mouse she still had a lot of it to finish. They were awful big cookies. As far as she knew Hades II didn't like cookies very much either so there was no point in trying to share them with him. Looking down she figured she might as well try to be friendly. Maybe he just needed a friend. "Do you want a cookie? Their amazing and freshly baked!" Kaia spoke timidly as she pulled one of the softly cookies from the pile and held it out to the boy. Since he was sitting down she had to hold it down quite of bit. Hopefully he liked cookies because that was the only piece offering she had. Kaia was shy but she knew when she needed to help someone.

Zayne fiddled with his hair for a moment, not really able to tell if it was black or a dark brown. He decided that he had black-brown hair because he could not really figure it out. Zayne shrugged lightly and went back to thinking. He wanted to seek out his mother and he wanted to live with her rather than that awful step-mother of his. He wanted to get with his mother and see what it was like to have one. Zayne yawned a bit so that he could get a little more oxygen to his brain. He wondered what time lunch was, but then again, he had spent hours in the dungeons and finding his way around, he realized that he had skipped lunch. That was perfect. He let out a sigh and he leaned his head up against the wall and he closed his eyes. He started to think about things, and how the House of Slytherin was more or less a blood prejudice house. Thing is, he was not prejudice at all. He was more or less just mutual. He also did not like the fact that he was pure-blood from the moment he found out because ever since then, a muggle-born had bothered him all his life. Then again, he was developing a strong hate for them because of how he was treated because of her. Zayne continued to just sit there, but he did not think that he looked rather intimidating as much as he looked just sad or something while he was down here. He liked sitting on the floor in the dungeons. If anyone yelled at him over it, they could just shove it up their own arses.

The Slytherin listened to the sounds of footsteps and maybe a critter walking around or something. However his eyes opened when he heard a girl's voice say something. However, his gray eyes opened and they landed on a first year that was eating a cookie, one of the most interesting and random things he had ever seen in his life. What he noticed first about her were her eyes and he greeted rather shyly, "I'm...fine." It was the best way he could even put it right now. He was fine, but he was just wondering what was going on right now. Zayne wondered who she was, but he did not really know her as a Slytherin. Maybe she was in another house? However, she asked if he wanted a cookie, and then handed it down to him. Slowly, with caution, he took it from her hand and he murmured, "Thanks..." He slowly stood up to his full height so that he would not really have to lean up to look at her. Zayne glanced down at the cookie, but before he took a bit out of it, he had to know. "Are your eyes," he started, "naturally purple?" Zayne had never seen anything like that in his life. But his tone was soft and apathetic. Zayne slowly took a small bite from the cookie, and then he believed her. They were rather delicious. He knew that it had been the Hogwarts elves or something that whipped these up. Though he only used small bites, because he wanted to savor it, and if he ate any sweet too fast, he got a stomach ache that he would prefer to avoid.

Kaia didn't think much of it when the boy greeted her shyly. Just by the mere look of him she could tell that he was probably going to be at least partially timid. It didn't help much that Kaia was able to easily intimidate most people, it was because she looked naturally mean. Which was probably one of the biggest lies she had ever heard said to her face, she looked mean buy Kaia was more shy and quiet then she was anything else. She could very easily be nice to people who didn't make her feel horrible or get on her nerves. So far no one had really done that at this school so she was fairly nice and equal to everyone. Though her 'brother' and her father both constantly reminded her to keep an eye out for the mudbloods, they were not to be her friend or really even associate with her because the family would not allow it. That wasn't a hard feat because she had yet to meet anyone and talk with them long enough to find out about their blood status. This little boy didn't really look like a muggle born kid, then again she didn't know what they really looked like all that much. "Are you sure your all right? You look kind of depressed or something." Kaia stated absently. Her voice sounded as if this were the most obvious thing in the world but she was just trying her best to make herself sound more friendly and her English sound much better than it really was. He seemed to be able to understand her perfectly fine but that was because she was speaking more slowly. Hades II really needed to help her brush up on her English or something because she was tired of having to speak like she currently was. It made her feel stupid. With caution the boy had taken the cookie from her and stood to his full height. Now he was taller than her. But she didn't mind. She was actually more shocked that he had actually taken the cookie from her. Then again most kids around her age probably wouldn't turn down a cookie no matter who gave it to them. That was how kidnappers managed to prevail over things. Because kids were stupid and easily fell to things that had no to little purpose. Kaia herself even fell to things she probably shouldn't have. After all she ended up running away from home, running into some strange boy, and coming home with them and trusting them fully. What if they had been killers?

When the boy asked if her eyes were naturally purple Kaia blinked for a moment. No one had ever asked her that question before so it had taken her off guard for a moment or two. But she caught herself after a moment of thing and scratched her cheek shyly. Her cheeks were now dusted with a faint red color that was quite noticeable on her pale cheeks. "Yeah they are. Yo..you don't think they make me look really weird do you? I guess purple isn't a common eye color huh?" Kaia bit her lip and suddenly wished she had a mirror to look into. Her brother had never really mentioned the difference of her eyes before and her entire family except for her father had them so she never thought of it too much. Well there went that impression. He probably thought she was a weirdo or something. That could be why all the other kids didn't really mess with her. Because of her eyes. Shrugging it off Kaia sighed. "You don't mind me being down here and everything right? If you do then I can go back upstairs? You kind of looked like you wanted to be alone." Kaia handed the last cookie she had over to him to see if he wanted it. It was like another piece offering but she actually just didn't feel like eating it right now. She already had like three and it was making her stomach begin to hurt a little. The poor girl couldn't handle too many sweets at once. Kaia then ran fingers over her pants to brush the crumbs off.

Zayne was not really this shy around people that he knew, but in a school that he was afraid would not accept him for his blood type, who could blame him for being so isolated from everyone and everything? Zayne softly looked at her, and he glanced down at the cookie that the girl had given him before he took a small bite out of it. He loved cookies, but the sweets really messed with his stomach. He did not like the stomach aches that really followed after he dove into a bowl of sweets. Candy, oh Merlin's beard he loved some candy, especially what those muggles called buckeyes over in Hawaii and the United States. Though he lived in New Zealand now, with his father and his stupid step-mother. Zayne had a touch of an Hawaiian accent when he spoke. Zayne nodded softly when she asked him if he was all right. He wasn't crying and he wasn't bleeding, so he naturally assumed that he was all right. Zayne just murmured, "New school, a lot of people, I was thrown into a world that I don't know if I belong in." He sounded like he was a muggle-born just then, but he was not, in fact, he was so far from it. Zayne did not like the fact that he had to be forced to believe like he was. Just the step-mother, the evil step-mother he had made the one from the Cinderella tale seem like an angel. Zayne noticed that she had an odd accent, and for the life of him, he could not place it at all.

The young Slytherin finished off the cookie, and he rubbed his hands together and the crumbs dropped to the stone floor for the little critters to snack on later on. Zayne then went back to staring at the Ravenclaw with such unusual eyes. He had never seen such eyes like that in his life. Zayne did not think that he would have sounded offensive, but he was curious. Were they natural? She answered the question, and they were natural indeed. Zayne shook his head and he shrugged lightly, "No, it is cool. I just have never seen it before. Um, I guess I just don't see odd things often. But I like them." Zayne was trying to be as nice as he could without stammering. He was grateful that he did not seem like an idiot to her. That would ruin his chances of making at least one friend here. The fact that she seemed to want to leave him alone made him a little weary. Did she think that he would mind if she was down here with him? Nah, if he wanted to be alone, he would have found an empty classroom down here and sat down. Zayne shook his head again, and he smiled subtly, "No, I don't mind at all. Um, I'm Zayne Baros, Slytherin. Who are you?" He outstretched his hand in a friendly greeting. That was about as forward as one will get out of Zayne Baros. He was like one would say shy and timid. The little Slytherin boy, was a little nervous in front of the Ravenclaw girl.

Kaia noted that he had a bit of an accent. Not one that she recognized by origin but it sounded a little bit different than the accents she was used to hearing other students around here use. "If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?" Maybe that would help her get an idea on where the accent had come from. Kaia had one herself but she figured that it would be much easier for someone to pick out that her accent was Russian than figure out his. Mayhaps he was from some really far away country where they did things like worship birds or something? Well that was probably unlikely but she didn't know what to think when it came to an entirely different world that she didn't know of because of the sheltered life she had. He seemed to be sure that nothing was wrong with him though, even with Kaia's persistence he claimed that he was fine or at least signaled that he was. Hopefully he didn't find this annoying but she wasn't sure how to fully read if someone was okay or not apparently. She thought it was obvious by the look in their eyes if they were going through some sort of stress or not. But this boy seemed a little but harder to read then most others her age were then. Kaia heard him murmur something about a new school, there being a lot of people, and him being thrown into a world that he wasn't sure if he belonged in. This made Kaia cock her head to the side for a moment. Her purple eyes were narrowed in minimal confusion and she wasn't sure if she knew what he meant or not. A moment of silence passed before Kaia decided to say something that would hopefully make him feel better. "I figure that as long as you know how to do magic, you belong here. Wai-err...are you a muggle-born or something?" Kaia sounded soft and calm during the first part of of her statement but when she got to thinking about it, maybe he meant something else when he said that. Muggle-born's were people that Kaia were taught to hate. Not that she had any idea why or anything, this boy looked looked too nice to be one of them though. Does this mean they couldn't be friends? This completely bummed Kaia out too because she thought they would have awesome best friends already.

"Y-you like them? Really? I've never really had anyone compliment them before so...thanks." Kaia turned a deep red. Never had someone ever complimented anything about her, not her name, her eyes, her face, nothing. The House-elves said she was a kind person once before but she never took it to heart. They seemed to compliment anyone who treated them like they weren't scum on the earth. It was a little strange to have someone be nice to her besides her brother too, but she liked it. Kaia glanced over the boy and wondered if there was something she could compliment him on without sounding like a creeper. He had pretty eyes, would a boy like having his eyes complimented though? He had nice soft looking hair too. Kaia decided against a compliment for now and blinked when the boy introduced himself. "Zayne's a cool name. I'm Kaia Lutrova, Ravenclaw. Do you like being in Slytherin?" Kaia lean against the wall and brushed some hair from her face. He lived in the Serpent house full of prejudice and very self-centered people. Kaia wondered if he was secretly like that too. He still seemed too nice though. Like a little mouse.

Zayne was a little put off by the fact that she was able to tell that he was not from here. Zayne glanced down at the floor, and he glanced back up at her. Biting his lip, he thought of the city's name, but he could not recall from the top of his head. "Um, the United States. Hawaii, and then Oregon, and then Washington, before moving here." Zayne did not think that it was that big of a deal, but if one asked where his parents were from, that would be a story that he did not know at all. Zayne scratched the back of his head for a moment, and he fell into a shy silence. How could someone like him be so quiet? Zayne did not think about what he had said, and really had backward beliefs than most other pure-bloods his age and those that were in Slytherin. It was obvious that he had not come across Leviathan Zhefarovich and his crew just yet, which might be a good thing because a first year would not stand a chance against anyone higher than them in age and in form. Zayne himself was not skinny, but he was not obese either. He looked rather normal actually, which was good for him. His hair seemed to stay in a shaggy mess though. But then the girl asked if he were muggle-born. A flicker of fear passed through his eyes, before he covered it with agitation when he thought about that evil step-mother. He really did not like them, but for reasons that she had caused. And he was a Slytherin now, which just made things so much worse on the first year. He really did not know how to answer that really. He could lie about his blood, which was something he was going to have to do. "I'm not a muggle-born. I'm uh, mixed-blood. Both parents are magical." That was the truth, was it not? Well, not the whole truth but it worked.

It was obvious that Zayne did not know what blood type that Kaia was, and how she was raised to hate those with muggle blood in their veins. He did not know that there were people like that at all. Zayne just knew that being pure-blood was bad, because he would get bad treatment from everyone. That was what he really believed. So, the less people knew, the better. He nodded, and he smiled lightly, "Yeah, they are just fitting. I wish I had a cool eye color. And you are welcome." Zayne wanted something about him to be well, unique. He could play the piano, but that was about it. He was shy with pictures, people and everything. Not much really brought him any attention, which would be good in a way too. Zayne did not care much for attention. But the moment that she, Kaia, said that his name was cool, Zayne felt some sort of confidence wave over him, and he seemed to be a little more out of his shell for a moment. But the question made him frown a bit, and he stared at the ground. He tapped it with his right shoe, stubbing his toes down to the bottom of his sneakers. Zayne shook his head, "Not really. I um, well, don't think that I should belong in that house. It is a bad house." Zayne glanced over at Kaia, and wondered if Ravenclaw was a better house for him. "What is Ravenclaw like?" asked the first year curiously. He also wondered if Kaia had a mother that he never had before. Maybe when they talked more, he would be able to question her everything, because all the answers he received were rather biased against him anyway. But Zayne did not think about this just yet. He was just a first year still, and had room to grow.

Kaia could sense that he was taken aback by her question on where he was from. He evem glanced down to the floor for a moment, something she did on occasion as well. Hopefully he wasn't offended by her question then. He named off a few places that she had never heard of before so she cocked her head to the side and gave him a strong stare. "I have never heard of any of those places. Is is warm there? I was born Russia, which happens to be always cold. But to be honest after my dad adopted me he never actually told me where we live now. " Kaia felt that it was kind of her to return the gesture and state where she was from. But she couldn't tell where she lived exactly now because Hades had never told her the exact location of her home, she assumed Russia though because of the terrain. That and how it always seemed to be cold. No matter what season or time of day it was, she was always just, cold. Zayne fell into a shy silence and Kaia wondered if he was bored of her or if he was just unsure what to say. Well that she could handle with. Although the purple eyed girl was shy and all, she knew how to keep a person interested in her and only her. It was something she developed when she was young. It helped her keep her parents attention instead of letting it become focused on her sisters and brother. Kaia was an attention holder and it was probably due to her being the youngest. Her pale hand went up and brushed some of her blackened hair out of her eyes. Then he answered her question about his blood status and Kaia could say that she was relived. He wasn't muggle-born, he was mixed-blood. It would have been better if he was pure, but she didn't have much room to complain when he was the first kid to talk to her besides her brothers or random relatives. "Well that's cool too, I'm a pure-blood. Proud as can be about it too." Kaia grinned. Although blood didn't mean the world to her like it did to everyone else. But she had heard that it was a good thing from her family. How could anyone not be proud of their blood. Even if they were a nasty low muggle-born, they should be proud of who they are. Even, if no one else was.

"Your eyes are more pretty that anything else. I love them." Kaia approached Zayne and peered close at him so she could get a better look at his eyes. They were indeed a very pretty color. Not one that she was used to. Her brother and sisters as well as their father had those purple eyes she bore so beautifully. And her mother had golden brown eyes. So she never saw that light of a color before. Even Hades II and Hades had dark eyes. After a moment she pulled herself away from Zayne and leaned against the wall again, he was frowning again. Sometimes he seemed to easy to read. Zayne was expressive with his eyes and his facial features. It was heartening to see someone she could read easily. "Slytherin isn't that bad of a house. You just need to get comfortable there. Ravenclaw, well everyone in that house is pretty smart for the most part. They all like to read a lot, but they have the tendency to be smart-asses." Kaia shrugged her shoulders and rolled her purple eyes. She didn't like the house she was put into at first, but now that more than half the year was gone she was feeling okay with how the house was. She liked the colors too, blue and bronze. It fit well.

Zayne might be a little taken aback with how she was born in Russia, but where she was adopted, and then there was the thing where she said that her new dad never told her the exact location. Zayne, being an American, thought that it was strangely unusual. How could one not know the exact town and everything of where they lived? Then again, he was not familiar with Russia, and how some things looked the same as well. Zayne shrugged lightly, and he murmured, "They aren't famous at all. It is warm in the summer, but the seasons are a little different here which is odd. Backward actually. But I heard Russia is cold, is that true?" Zayne was curious about Russia now, the gray eyed Slytherin was always curious about something or another, which was a fact. Zayne swallowed a bit, before he continued to lean against the wall, but he shifted his weight from one leg to the other. Zayne was rather comfortable though, talking to this girl seemed rather natural. He liked it and he would continue on making his first friend. However, when she said that she was a pure-blood and she was proud of it, his eyes widened a bit, and he turned his eyes to her. She was proud of it? What was there to be proud of? Zayne had a million questions, but he did not ask them because it would make him seem rather off to ask her so many questions. So, maybe that was why she asked if he was a muggle-born, because they really hated people like her. Like him too, but he just lied about his blood. Zayne muttered, "You are really a pure-blood? What is there to be proud of?" Zayne did not sound mean, but he sounded...almost sad, as if he yearned to be proud of his blood too.

The Slytherin tensed up when Kaia got really close to him to look into his eyes. He just felt rather uncomfortable with that close of contact, but she was just peering into his eyes with her purple orbs. It was almost scary how she peered into his eyes with her own. Her purple eyes were so pretty and it was fun looking into them, but he wouldn't admit that. Not because he was ashamed but he was afraid that she would think that he was just plain stupid which was not the best thing in the world. He really did not want to seem like an idiot in front of her. Zayne already had many things going against him anyhow. Zayne smiled lightly, and a blush took over his cheeks when she said that his eyes were more pretty than anything else. They were quite normal. Well, normal to his standards. "I like yours better. Purple is a really cool color." Zayne was almost feeling like he was complimenting her or even flirting, but the first year did not know how to really flirt or anything because he never had a crush before. He rarely even spoke to girls actually. Zayne never really realized just how much he could express himself around a girl that did not see any at all. Zayne was around many emotions, most of them being anger and then some being sadness. It was rare to see a smile where he was living. He nodded lightly, and he shrugged as well, "I guess so. Maybe the hat saw something in me I did not know was there. Ravenclaw...guess it has everyone there smart, even those that are smart-asses." Zayne thought that it was rather ironic on that, and he smiled a little more. Maybe soon he will like his house, and maybe soon, he will belong there whereas he did not think that he would ever belong either. A house where prejudice pure-bloods gather, somehow, the one that did not want to be pure-blood ended up there.

Kaia felt better when Zayne confirmed that they weren't exactly famous places or anything because then she knew it would be okay if had never heard of any of of those places. He also said it was hot during the summer and that sounded uncomfortable for her because she wasn't used to it ever being hot where she lived. In fact she already thought New Zealand was already to hot for her liking. "It's really cold in Russia. But I like the cold. So, why did you end up moving from all the way over there, to here. This place kind of blows." So far New Zealand and her weren't really making all that much of a connection. The season's were a little missed up compared to how Russia's worked, it was already too warm here and everything and she didn't like that, and while she was here she was forced to go to this school and become separated from her brother. It made Kaia feel really lonely here and it made her long to go home, crawl into bed to bury herself under the covers and never ever come back to this horrid place again. Now if only Hades would actually remove her from the school and end her misery while he still could. But as of right now she wasn't feeling as bad as she was a bit ago. That was because Zayne was giving her someone to talk to and someone who would actually care about her opinion and what she thought about things. Maybe he would become her first best friend. Even if he was a boy and that didn't seem as normal as having a girl for a best friend would be at her age, she didn't really care all that much. A friend was a friend and since she didn't have any yet Zayne would fit the role perfectly. His question about pure bloods made her pause and give him the strangest stare. How could he not know what there wasn't to be proud of when it came to one's blood status. Kaia really needed to educate him about it. "A pureblood is someone who comes from all magical heritage. In my opinion it means were more magically fit than the others because all the people from out past were magical too. Muggles and muggle borns are nasty people so having them in your family totally brings the name down. And if those types of blood don't like my opinion they can kiss my butt because I don't care." Kaia crossed her arms over her chest and stuck her nose in the air for a moment before she grinned and shook her head. Did that actually open his eyes to anything or was he going to be just as lost and stuck as he was before. If he needed more information perhaps he should talk to Hades II about it.

"You know, it takes a real man to admit he thinks the color purple is cool. But thanks, sometimes they make me a little self-conscious about myself too." They weren't normal so did that mean that she wasn't really a normal person either or something? It wasn't very common to ever see someone with purple eyes. But it wasn't just the color of her eyes that bothered her like it did. She thought that she was funny looking all together. Kaia had these large purple eyes that she felt resembled the way an owl would gaze at something. Her skin was too pale and it made her look like she never got any sun. Zayne seemed like he would appreciate someone who got some time on the sun. Then there was her hair that was filled with so many flaws in it she could barely name it all. Kaia felt awkward in her own body. When she lived with her parents they taught and kept her at home all the time so she didn't really need to worry about how she looked. Now she did and she always felt awkward about it. "To me, you seem awful shy to be a Slytherin but hey, I barely know you so I cannot really judge by that. Sure I'm pretty smart and everything, but I'll be the first to admit..I'm probably not smart enough to really be in Ravenclaw." Kaia had brains but she had her dumb moments too. The house was strange with how it did things but mayhaps all of the houses were weird but she didn't get to see them for herself. It would be cool to see what the other houses were like and everything. To see the other Common room's and to see what it would be like to be within the house. Kaia wished she could ask Zayne to sneak her into the Slytherin Common room. But she was too shy and she didn't want him to get into trouble.

--Zayne could just visualize the coldness that Russia had in store. He never really wanted to stay in the cold, because he preferred nice, warm weather. He liked the sun and the shine. Which was almost why he missed Hawaii, because he loved the constant warmth. But now that he was living where he does now, it got cold a lot, and it rained a lot. It did not really go well for the young Slytherin. He wanted something a little warmer, but it was closer to his dad's work. Zayne thought for a moment, and he glanced over at her, "You know, I have no idea why dad wanted me to go here, but he did. I guess he is not fond of Salem at all." Though the Slytherin had to agree, this place kind of blows. He did not even know why he had come here, but really his dad suspected that Zayne's sister might come here and sent him. Zayne had no idea that he even had siblings anyway, because he was the only child in the household, and boy did he hate being the only child in the household because he had to deal with his step-mother all the time which was not good on his part. Zayne hated being at home, but maybe some others would help him. Maybe someone like Kaia could help Zayne open. But then Kaia explained what being a pure-blood meant, and he came from all magical heritage. And she said that they were more magically fit than others. And he had to agree that muggle-borns were nasty people. He had one for a step-mother. "Oh..I guess I understand now." But Zayne was still unsure if he should even tell her that he was pure-blood. He was so insecure about it anyway.

--Never had Zayne seen Kaia act like a snob, but it was something interesting. Zayne would have to get more information on being a pure-blood. Zayne smiled over at Kaia when she said that it took a real man to admit that. But at least he did not like the color pink. "You should be proud of who you are. You should really feel good about your eyes. Looking normal is a little on the boring side," shrugged the Slytherin first year. He wondered if he would ever really look pretty or anything. He was just a first year right now, so it was really unknown by this point. Zayne ran his fingers through his hair, his dark brown hair. His light gray eyes were actually not so normal because they were so bright actually. It was really something abnormal anyway. "I am shy. Some Slytherins might be anyway. But maybe we can hang around sometime. But we are just first years, maybe we will grow into our houses or something." Zayne shrugged lightly because he really did not understand the concept of having houses when they did not really know why they were separated into the houses. The Slytherin type really did not seem the type for the young Slytherin. Kaia seemed like she was a good Ravenclaw, but she had not met her 'brother' and he did not suit his house at all. Zayne smiled lightly, "We don't have any homework, do we?" Zayne hoped that they did not because he would have to run back and get it done.

Kaia was a little bit curious now about what a mystery this Zayne kid was. He didn't seem to have much of an idea at all when it came to Pure bloods and the things that were said about them. He was a mixed-blood so one would think that he had would have some sort of idea about all of this. Kaia had been raised from day one around her beliefs that she held now because her family enforced such rules and regulations on her so she would know better when she was older what was and wasn't allowed. Didn't his family ever teach him how the Wizarding World was and what happens to people who were made from dirty breeding? "Zayne, didn't your family ever talk to you about such things? About the purebloods, muggleborns, even the half-breeds? I mean that is if you don't mind me asking about your family." Kaia couldn't be sure if it was even right to ask someone about the private things that their family discusses. but she just couldn't help it. For someone so shy she really could be a curious creature. Maybe that was why she was put into Ravenclaw. Because she wanted to know about everything she could and she liked to learn. Kaia wasn't extremely brainy either because she wasn't smarter than most kids. Overall she was a fairly normal girl and whether or not someone knew her they could tell that she was fairly observant too. Kaia was interested in Zayne as a person though. His family as well because it seemed that he was either naive in this area or they just never taught him what he should know. A Professor walked by the two of them and gave them a look. Kaia blinked up at him innocently with her purple eyes as he passed. It wasn't her head of house, she would know that man instantly because he was her grandfather. When the Professor was gone Kaia's innocent look disappeared. But she still stared softly at Zayne. He was her friend and right now she didn't know if she could ever explain to him how much she appreciated that he stood down here with her and talked to her.

"So you'd like to be friends then? I don't care if your a Slytherin at all, I've just...never had a friend before so...It doesn't matter to me what they act like. I mean I have my brother here and all but, he prefers to be alone most of the time." Kaia leaned against the wall and bit her lip. Hopefully Zayne would not reject her friendship because so far he happened to be the only person at this school who didn't make her feel horrible about herself. He was kind, he was interesting, and he didn't seem to mind her at all either. Her brother would probably get along with Zayne because of what house we was in but she wasn't sure if she ever wanted her brother to meet him just yet. Maybe years from now when her and Zayne were solid and there was no breaking their friendship she wouldn't mind because then Hades II couldn't scare him away. Maybe that was why she didn't have any other friends. They all found her brother to be creepy. Or maybe she was just a little bit creepy. Kids were really mean these days so it could be a whole long list of things. "I have some homework for History of Magic but I'm not really sure about you. Do you want to go back to your Common room so you can finish it and whatnot? We can hang out tomorrow maybe." Kaia knew that she had homework to get to but if she had to she would stay up most of the night to finish it. She'd rather have a friend right now than get her homework done. Besides she was pretty sure the Professor wouldn't hack her head off for forgetting it anyways. But if Zayne had to go then she needed to let him because it wasn't just about her.

--Zayne bowed his head when she questioned him on how his family taught him. His dad never really mentioned anything, because he was not really caring about his blood type. Zayne however got his influences from the muggle-born step-mother of his, and because of her he never knew what having a mother was really about. Zayne wanted to know what his mother was like, if she still loved him. Did she even care about him? And if she did, why did she not ever contact him or anything? Why not ever come around dad? Zayne had no idea if he even had sisters. He tried to ask Keyne about it, but Keyne was vague on the subject. Sometimes before he would have just said something like, "Unless I had a few mistakes in the past that haven't caught up to me!" but now was so much different. He just avoided the subject all together. Zayne shook his head and he lied once more, his eyes completely staring at his shoes, "Nope, not at all." Zayne felt utterly bad about lying so much, but he had to. He could not tell someone that he just met about all the horrible things that he had heard about purebloods. What would she think? He was raised around thinking that all purebloods were just bad people, and they needed to be taught that they were not on top of the world. He was called many things about his blood, like being incest and stuff like that. He did not even think that he was incest. He did not even know the mother's side of his family. He did not know if their last name was Baros or not. So he just thought that perhaps what all she screamed about was true. Was it true? Not because Zayne was believing it thoroughly now but because what the step-mother said was true about them all could not be true. Kaia was not the type of girl that seemed at all that bad actually, not what he was expecting at all. Zayne thought that maybe Kaia was different than the rest, or was she just like all the others, not what his step-mother made them out to be? Zayne was getting horribly confused.

--"Yeah, I'd like to be friends. You are lucky to have at least one sibling. As far as I am aware, I don't have any, at all. So, at least now we won't be alone," Zayne said with a small smile spreading across his lips. She was a really nice girl and thought that her friendship would be the stone to keeping him here. Zayne would see to it that he would continue to be friends with Kaia Lutrova. She may be a Ravenclaw, but it seemed like they were a good match with Slytherins anyway. Zayne had no idea who her brother might be, and probably did not want to know. He might be pureblood too, well, yeah, he would be. Would he be the same type of person that Kaia was? Would he be able to help Zayne be not ashamed of his blood purity? Perhaps he would be able to, but he was unaware with just how creepy the boy was. Zayne thought about what homework he had to do. Zayne nodded lightly and he murmured, "I have some for Herbology. Professor Styx, you know...he is not really that lenient." Zayne frowned a bit, and shook his head. But the idea of hanging out tomorrow sounded really good. He wanted to hang out with her more because she seemed like one awesome person actually. Zayne wanted to get to know more about who, who she was and how she was. Like how she was going to be about her blood, see how she acted. "I'd love to hang out tomorrow. Next time, maybe out on the grounds in a less creepy place?" Zayne gave her a warm hearted smile, and he was happy to finally have a friend. A good one from what he could tell. Perhaps she would be the light to show him that not all purebloods are as bad as that step-mother said.
