It was half an hour before morning classes as Rosalie Tria Leydon casually got dressed for the first class of the day. She nodded awkwardly to her room mates and quickly headed out of her room, this class, just happened to be in the east wing and she was going to have a fair walk ahead of her if she wanted to have breakfast first. She liked heading to the food hall later then most, it meant that there were only a few people in the hall. She wouldn't have to talk to anyone. Not that she really ever did anyway, most people didn't notice her. She sometimes wondered if it was because she was socially awkward, in every sense of the word? When she was with her family it was much the same as well. They would all talk about what exciting sporting event they were involved in and Rose would kind of just sit there, her knees at her chest, listening. She liked listening to them talk, though sometimes it made her think that they had forgotten that she was there. She shrugged away her own thoughts and continued on to the hall, but upon reaching there, she decided that she did not want any food, and instead continued straight onto the class. Maybe they would actually do something interesting today? Her thoughts were wrong. As it happened the Professor wanted them to prepare a report on a something from mythology. Anything of their choice. Rose sighed. Well, wasn't this just the greatest thing since the invention of brooms? Not! She felt alittle like Kyoko from Skip Beat, though she hadn't been socially awkward, just overlooked. She sighed and began to flip through books. Nothing was different. She was beginning to think it would never be different. The Professor then mentioned that the person to their left was to be their partner. Rose looked around and nodded to the boy next to her. She had seen him a couple of times, but she had never spoken to him, nor he to her. She wondered if they would be able to work together.

Batman quietly awoke to a silent dorm, furrowing his brow at the calmness he had woken to, since his room mates would usually be up and causing a ruckus by now. But regardless of what his room-mates were or weren't doing, Batman decided to make the most of this unusual silence. He took his time getting up, stretching in his bed for a few minutes before deciding to get dressed and brush his teeth. He moved to the window next to his bed, and drew the curtains a little to peek outside, today was a sunny day which meant the professors would expect everybody to go outside. Dammit. Batman always hated when professors told him what he should be doing, because they never knew a thing about what he needed. Samuel had warned him what professors were like, and he tried to prepare himself for it but his lack of social skills had rendered him unable to talk back to them. He knew that interacting with professors would be one of the hardest things to adjust to after starting to go to a proper school, because he had grown so accustom to his father home-schooling him. At first it was hard to concentrate in class because everything was so unfamiliar, but he did slowly get used to a classroom environment. His thoughts on class reminded him that he should get going, he wanted to arrive early so he could pick a seat in the back before anybody else did. On this note, Batman left his dorm for the first time today, strolling down to the main part of the school. What confused him was the fact the main hall was nearly empty just like his dorm, why wasn't anybody here? Then it finally hit him. He was late for class. Batman quickened his pace, cursing under his breath over and over before arriving at his mythology class. So much for getting a seat in the back. He entered the classroom, the eyes of the other students burning into him as he silently made his way to the only vacant seat in the room. He swore under his breath once more when the professor said something about being partnered up for a report, he wasn't really listening but he did know he would be working on it with the girl seated next to him. Batman nodded back to her in acknowledgement, he hadn't seen her around but fortunately she didn't look like the type to leave him to do the entire report.

Rose sat quietly next to the boy whom was her partner. As of yet she had not found any need to actually speak to him, simply handing him the papers she had written on, for him to look over. When class was over, she and her partner were going to have to book one of the study areas in the library, very likely, and then continue their report. They hadn't even picked what myth to work on yet. She sighed and pushed another page closer to him. At present, she was skimming through the book and writing down bits of information. Personally she liked Pluto's Palace and Minos, but she would wait to see what her partner thought first. She didn't even know his name, she was too shy to ask and he hadn't told her. Story of her life. Class would end soon and she knew she was going to have to say something if he didn't. Could she simply resort to pulling him to the library? Would that even work? Maybe he would say something then and she wouldn't be so shy because she wasn't speaking the first word. She sighed and closed the book, sticking it in her bag and waiting patiently for the class to end. It was like this all the time. Mythology class was one of the better ones, this Professor was one of her favorites, though today not so much. He usually would let her work on her own, not this time though. She looked up at him as he announced when the report was due, next week, before turning to see what her partner was doing. Maybe he would say something now? Or not.

A few hours later in the library...

For the past two hours Batman had been sitting in the library with a girl whose name he still didn't know. They hadn't spoken one word to each other and they were expected to finish an assignment together, something he assumed would never happen. They had been passing notes back and forth, changing things around and finding a mutual agreement on the assignment so far, although with such a lack of communication they were sure to fail. If given the choice, Batman would have chosen to finish this assignment alone, because then he knew it would get finished but this was unfortunately not an option. The fifteen year old was bored of working on the assignment, choosing to direct his attention to a comic instead. At least that was somewhat interesting. He pulled the comic out of his satchel and began reading where he left off. It was a cat woman comic, nothing special but anything was better than the assignment at this point. Batman was never able to focus on one thing for too long anyway. After ten minutes of reading the fifteen year old's short attention span plagued him again, his attention faltering from the comic to doodling batman symbols on his parchment. The symbols weren't turning out very good, but Samuel was the artsy brother, Jonathon was just the other one. He didn't have any particular talent; this was a blessing and a curse. A blessing due to the fact he didn't stand out from a crowd much, and a curse because any successful future he hoped to have wouldn't materialise without a talent or passion to live by. Realising he had become lost in thought; Batman looked up from his parchment to the girl, managing a polite smile at her before returning his attention to doodling. At least she wasn't rude.
