Juniper had had fun in the Yule ball and she was looking forward to the Valentine's dance. Her day had been all sorts of rough and there'd been a few emotionally exhausting and challenging situations, but over all she was feeling positive after her nap. Juni walked into the Great Hall and took a look around, her eyes widening in wonder. It looked so pretty. Walking to the snack stands Juniper took a cup of one of the punches and found a table for herself to sit at while contemplating whether or not she should dance.

Lewis, of course, was going to the dance, because it was a dance. If he was dead maybe he wouldn't go, but since he was in fact not dead then course would go. When he got there he was happy to see all of the food and was about to head over there until he realised there was another first year he didn't get to talk to much. Ooh, he should go and talk to her right? He waved at her as he headed over. She was sitting down at one of the tables, and that just wasn't on. She should be dancing right? That's what people did at these things. "Juniper! Hi! Come dance with me!"

Juniper watched the people dance, but she wasn't sure she would be too good at dancing. She seemed to be awkward at anything related to bodily movement and balance. Her eyes shot towards the boy approaching her, Lewis, she thought his name was. He was familiar enough to her from classes but nothing beyond that. "I- I don't know... I don't know if I know how to dance.." She admitted awkwardly looking down at her cup. She kind of wanted to dance but what if she looked stupid, what if someone laughed at her. "Do you dance a lot? It can't be that hard... Right?"

Lewis grinned at Juniper, it wasn't really that hard to dance he thought, but if she didn't know how he didn't mind just swaying with her either. "I don't think it's hard, I like to dance in my bedroom sometimes, sometimes in the dorms. I don't think anyone will laugh at you, but if they laugh at you they will have to laugh at me too. Coz I'll be dancing right there with you, how's that?"

Juni gave a sheepish smile at Lewis, that sounded like a fair deal to her. Surely it wasn't that hard and so many others were already dancing and she was sure not all of them could be professional dancers anyways. She'd be just fine. "Okay." She said with a node, drinking the rest of her punch before getting up and putting the cup away. "Let's go then." Juniper said, trying to sound less nervous than she felt. Hopefully she wouldn't knock anyone down today. "You start, I'll just have to copy your moves for a bit." The Hufflepuff said awkwardly, she was so nervous her body felt like a metal rod, there was no way she was going to do anything but look like a robot on her own right now so she'd at least try to copy Lewis' movements then.

Lewis nodded casually to Juniper and lead head in the direction of where he felt like was most appropriate. It wasn't far from where she'd been sitting just now, but it wasn't in the middle of the room either because he wanted her to be able to escape if she felt she wanted to. It was a bit like when Rose was nervous, though he didn't think his sister and this girl were anything alike. Rose wasn't shy, but this girl seemed like she might be. He wasn't quite sure he knew how to deal with shy people, maybe with Hina, but this girl wasn't much like Hina either probably. Anyway he was trying not to compare everyone to his family, that wasn't very Valentinesy. "Okay so it's all very straightforward," he said, instructing her like he was some kind of expert (he wasn't) and showing her a couple of his swaying moves. "The trick is to pretend you're a blade of grass..."

Juniper followed behind, glancing around her awkwardly. She looked at Lewis as he began trying to instruct her and then tried to do similar moves, but then her stare turned a little bit blank. Like a blade of grass? You were supposed to become... like that? How was that possible, though maybe he didn't mean it literally. "Blade of grass, okay got it... I think?" Except juniper most definitely did not get it, but she tried to imitate a blade of grass, trying to think how they moved but it felt awkward. "What if I just spin like a tornado until I feel dizzy? that sounds easier." A small grin appeared, because that was what she did when it rained. She spun around until the world became a blur and that was fun. There was no need to feel like a fool when you weren't trying to be cool. "Like this." She started spinning slowly first, then picking up on speed.

When Juniper started spinning like a tornado, Lewis kind of liked that idea and so he started to copy her. His only real concern was that they might get so dizzy they would bump into each other, but he wasn't really all that worried about it. If that happened, it happened, and there wouldn't be much they could do about it. "Woah this is making me dizzy!" He said, continuing to spin like Juniper was so they were doing the same thing. It was kind of fun actually.

Juniper kept spinning and in the blur she could sort of see that Lewis had joined her. A his words she started to giggle a little, it was true it was making her dizzy too. "I know. I don' think I can go on for much longer but it's fun!" She said finally feeling herself relax a little bit, though it always took just one thing to send her back tumbling down into her previous state, bu as of right now everything felt fine. Juniper had to stop for a moment, because she was either going to fall over next, puke or both if she kept going. "Merlin, there should be a charm to anti-dizzy yourself so that you can spin forever without feeling dizzy." She stated looking towards Lewis with a small shy smile.
