Tired Eyes

An adoring smile crossed his lips as Alexis failed horribly to uphold her conceited attitude, breaking out in smiles and affections. Izaak sniggered in amusement as her lips pressed gently against his cheek and was ready to return it with one of his own when a thought seemed to strike her. "Okay I know it's early but..." He arched a curious eyebrow at his lover once their lips had broken contact, intrigued as to what she was referring to. His azure eyes darted to their bedroom window as Alexis slipped from his arms; surely she wasn’t talking about the day because it had to be reaching the afternoon by now. But Izaak’s gaze was quick to catch his lover as she slipped his singlet over her slim figure and he could not help but to scoff in amazement as she left the room. Why was it that his clothes always seemed to look so much better on her?

Growing impatient in Alexis’ absence, Izaak sat up on the mattress, still scrambling for reasons and ever curious for what she was going to return with. He did not have to wait long though. In a matter of minutes his girlfriend was back by his side with a present in her grasp. It wasn’t until she finished her sentence that he realised what it was for. "Oh, right. Christmas,” He grinned in understanding and cast his thoughts rapidly to the present he had gotten her, hoping that she’d love it just as much as he did. In taking the present Alexis had handed to him from her hands, Izaak set a gracious kiss on the corner of her eye before turning his attention to unwrapping the paper. A square slip of paper, or perhaps it was cardboard, caught his eye and he tugged at the sharp corner to pull it from its packaging. Almost instantly Izaak knew what it was, and the fact that there were two of them did not go unnoticed by the nineteen year old. “Wow thanks Alexis!” He grinned excitedly, fanning the plane tickets out between his fingers. “Leah and I are gonna have the best time!” Izaak lifted his head and shot his girlfriend a cheeky wink of his glinting blue eyes. It would never be anybody but Alexis and he was sure that she knew that. As he leant in to press his lips lovingly against hers, Izaak felt himself grow excited for the holiday, their first real one as a couple.

“Wait,” He breathed softly as he broke from her lips. “Where are we actually going?” The hint of humour in his tone was undeniable as he set the tickets on the bedside table and pulled on his boxers. Like Alexis had done before she retrieved his present, Izaak slid out from between the white sheets but instead of leaving her in the room, he reached his muscled arms out on either side of his bare chest in encouragement for his girlfriend to enter into them. “C’mon, it’s my turn.”

yuck.

Alexis let out a sigh of relief as Izaak seemed to like the present, she had been quite anxious that he would hate it and not want to go to Italy with her. But as he joked with her, she scoffed and rolled her eyes at him, before grinning gently at him as she leant into him and their lips met softly. She couldn't imagine a better person to travel with and as the question came up of where they were going, green flooded her eyes and she said brightly, "Italy." As she watched Izaak stand up, she wondered if he was fine with Italy, she could always change the location she just didn't care for the cheesiness that France had to offer for couples and most countries she had been to, she wanted to experience something brand new with Izaak and thought he might like it there.

When he stood up Alexis arched an eye brow of curiosity because she hadn't expected a gift exchange she just had to divulge in her need to let him in on the secret. She wasn't great at keeping secrets but as he opened his arms for her, she eagerly stood up wrapping her arms around him gently. "Kay," she responded, now curious as to what he had gotten her. She pulled away with a grin and took his hand, eagerly swinging their hands as she chewed down on her bottom lip, feeling like a child once more.

Same here

Izaak allowed his mind to venture excitedly across to the other side of the world as Alexis mentioned Italy. Her gift had been spot on and was one of the many things that Izaak wanted to do in his lifetime, travel the world that is. It had been something he and Kasey had been planning to do together but that had never worked out after her departure with the Order. The mere thought of just strolling down the Mediterranean streets at twilight with Alexis on his arm and with no one to care for but each other rode unbridled excitement through Izaak’s mind.

"I’m excited already," The nineteen year old grinned as his lover settled into his arms and braced her with a loving, appreciative kiss on the forehead. But once again his focus was redirected to what he had gotten for Alexis in return as she swapped the hug for the linking of their hands. Izaak nodded once with a sly smile and curled his long fingers tightly around the small palm of her hand, dragging it towards his body as he exited their bedroom. Keeping Alexis close to his side, Izaak led her towards the end of the hallway and made a turn into the laundry. Though before he entered he slid his hand across her eyes, easily shielding their view of the rather bland room.

“No peeking,” He breathed softly into his lover’s ear. As his feet hit the tiles, Izaak’s azure eyes immediately caught those of Alexis’ Christmas present, swirling in a melted chocolate colour and gazing innocently up at the pair. The Border Collie pup stood up in the make-shift pen Izaak had thrown together, his tail began wagging happily followed by his entire body, shaking the huge red bow Leah had insisted on tying around the puppy’s neck. It would only be a matter of seconds before the barking started, so Izaak raised his free hand to his mouth and pressed his index finger warningly against his lips. Izaak had gone to the lengths of digging out his wand from the bottom of once of his draws and to cast a muffling charm over the laundry but the spell would not work inside the room. Despite the lack of knowledge the canine had in the human language, the impulse to bark seemed to cease.

With a smile and a kiss against her jaw, Izaak slid his hand from Alexis’ face and whispered a “Merry Christmas” into her ear. The puppy seemed to know that now was the perfect time to create some noise, so began to yelp happily for attention. Izaak hoped that he had not been too bold in getting a dog for his girlfriend but it had seemed like a good idea now that they were settled in. And as a plus, the dog would keep Izaak company while Alexis was finishing her last semester at school.

As Izaak shared his excitement Alexis beamed and blushed at his kiss and happily walked with her lover but as they turned down the hallway towards the laundry room she playfully asked, "Lemme guess! Dirty laundry?" She giggled at her own joke and as she was about to turn to Izaak to smile he covered her eyes with the hand she had been holding. Her lids slid over her mixed eyes and she carefully walked with Izaak, holding her arms out so she wouldn't bump into anything.

As they entered she could hear something moving but Alexis couldn't be sure, it could have been Izaak for all she knew but she doubted it a little. As a kiss was placed gently onto her cheek, Alexis let out a sigh of comfort and as he whispered 'Merry Christmas' to her she opened her eyes to see a very happy little puppy. "A dog?" she asked quietly, in shock that this was her Christmas present. She smiled down at it before turning to Izaak and giving him a loving kiss. It was a small one but it did show her appreciation and love for him in the time that it went on.

Without a word she moved the 'pen' out of the way and the black and white pup jumped up onto her. "Hello there," she said as she pet it with a bright smile. She had never had any pets before and had always wanted a dog so Izaak had got her perfect present. "Aren't you adorable," she said to the Border Collie as it attempted to roll over onto his back to get more scratches.

Alexis pet the dog's chest and looked up at Izaak with a bright smile, one that she knew she wore every Christmas day when she was a child. "Does he have a name?" she asked curiously as she nodded her head, motioning for Izaak to sit beside her.

For the briefest of moments as Alexis questioned the presence of the animal that was eagerly manoeuvring before the couple, a spell of uncertainty hung uncomfortably over Izaak. To him the puppy had seemed like the perfect addition to their new home and after growing up with nothing but pet fish, he had been rather enthusiastic about the purchase of his girlfriend’s Christmas present. But maybe he had been wrong in getting it.

However sooner than he could have imagined Alexis’ lips were soft against his own and moving lovingly to convey her appreciation. Izaak felt his squared shoulders relax at the gesture and broke from the short kiss with a smile wide upon his features. In remaining standing whilst Alexis knelt down to level herself with the puppy, he looked down at the two of them with the wide smile quickly forming a grin. The nineteen year old shook his head as his girlfriend lifted her head to ask if the puppy had a name. The innocent joy that graced her expression blissfully distracted him from speaking a proper answer until he was beckoned to take a seat beside her on the floor. "Not yet," Izaak smiled as he stretched his legs out on the floor. The puppy rolled over and excitedly jumped over to brace it’s two front paws on his knee, simply begging for more attention. So Izaak reached out a ruffled the soft, black fur on the top of its head with his fingers before it scampered back over to Alexis and collapsed in a wriggling heap on her lap. "I figured I’d leave that up to you."

lame, sorry.

Alexis nodded her head as Izaak said that their puppy didn't have a name as of yet. She watched as the pup jumped over to Izaak with a smile, this was the best holiday she had ever had and it was all because of her love, she had forgotten about the baby for now and all was well. "Up to us," she corrected after she laughed quietly at the puppy.

She pet the dog's head lightly and asked gently, "What do you think, love?" She had only named a snake that belonged to her little sister once and it hadn't been particularly imaginative so she wouldn't know what to name the shaking heap that now belonged to the young couple.

BLEEEH! Sorry I'm a bit out of it.
