Time Turner Area

so I read a previous suggestion and came up with one of my own that might solve the one I read. I call it a Time Turner Area that could be part of the Out of Character Section or Forum Games dunno... anyways it's designed to be an area that is not part of the Cannon of the Site (or basically put an alternate timeline)... in this area people could RP without a little less freedom such as you would be able to change the background of your character so that two enemies might be friends in this alternate timeline or you could have a random duel to the death without needing it to be approved by admins since it wouldn't actually effect anything in th real timeline.... The basis for this area would simply to create a wacky area where anything could happen without it having to effect the site... dunno if this is a good idea but I remembered seeing something like it on another non HP site and people seemed to enjoy it...
 
There was potential for this sort of interaction in our fan fiction forum, which received very little attention on the whole and was eventually closed.
The forum still exists; I'm not closed to reopening it to allow such happenings - but I would want to be assured that it would be genuinely used and not just sit there rotting again.
So, barring an outpouring of support for its reintroduction, it will likely remain hidden for a while. *cough*this is your chance*cough*
 
I would like that. RP things that would have happened with my characters had circumstances been different. There was but since the Fan Fiction Area had that title it made it seem like there had to be full stories and not RP's
 
I would be for reopening this under a trial period (make sure that more than just one or two people use it) for say, a month. And have the same restrictions like do not godmod other characters other than your own or without permission.
 
My only suggesting is can we change the name from Fan Fiction to something else like "Alternate Reality" Or "Time Turner Area" or maybe we could have the site come up with a name and vote... something that would describe the area but also be catchy!

I love the idea of this, it would give the person that may be writing a bio for the char a more of an idea of how

how it would fold out, or you can even add more content by just letting it go? Will also be able to actually build tension.

Anyways, love the idea and hope that it is implemented. :woot:

Keep brainstorming, dude.
It'd need a broad enough title that it's clear you can do roleplays outside of the canon of the board and just submit completed stories. ;)
 
I think this is a pretty cool idea. It would definitely be interesting to rp what things would be like if only one circumstance would change ^_^ , but I do think the fan fic section should be open for a trial period for this just to be sure it is more than just a passing interest for everyone.

Rather than changing the whole entire 'Fan Fiction' name to 'Alternate Reality,' I think it would probably make more sense to simply label those rps within the page as such. Especially since no one is exactly sure how many people are interested in taking the time to complete these roleplays. Maybe if there was a large outpouring of participation, there could be a sub-page created within the fan-fic page with that title :erm: ???

I was really upset when the Fan Fiction section went :(
I like the thought of being able to RP parts of characters pasts (that's the sort of thing, in my epic opinion, that aids the development of characters and character relationships) of course, I get that most people are more into the alt. reality thing. I can dig that.
If we can RP in the area 'Fan Fiction' area, then that's awesomeness. ^_^

Since its fanfic that means cannon characters are included right <_< I mean I like the idea of rping someone past and such, but I also like role playing some cannons characters and such.(an example Ron and Hermione on a regular basics or just any time period at all) in which we control the cannons in our rp and whoever decides to join can be anyone else in the book? Or even our original character with a cannon character in HS? I'm just asking, hope it make sense ^_^
