Mylie was in the midst of drying her hair with towel when she walked into the living room of the beach home. Mylie really liked this home. The sound of the crashing waves comforted Mylie. It was peaceful. Mylie was also grateful that her mother had divorced Gregory. He was more of a nuisance than he ever was a father to her. The best thing her mother had ever done was leave that man. Mylie felt at peace now. Well Mylie felt at peace about some things. There were other things that were bothering her too. Like the mysterious boy at school that knew her secret. Mylie was a Metamorphmagus and he knew that now. It scared Mylie that he was going to say something. Then everyone would know. Mylie assumed that if Gregory hated them as much as he did, everyone else was going to feel the same way. Her family was accepting of her but they were also her family. Family members were supposed to act like they all accepted one another when even they didn't. At least the ones that actually cared. Mylie heard the footsteps of her mother and turned her head in the direction of the hallway. Leilani appeared and Mylie acknowledged her with a simple wave. "Hi mom." Was all Mylie said as she tossed the towel aside and went into the kitchen to make something to eat. Right now Mylie was on her break. The next school year she would be in her fifth year. Mylie wasn't excited. She would rather stay at home and relax all day. The only person she really spoke to at all was Hades. Mylie thought that it made her kind of a loser. Not that it mattered though because Mylie could care less if she was friends with everyone or not. Mylie thought people like that were more than annoying. Mylie started to pull some shrimp from the icebox when he mother came into the kitchen. By the look on her face Mylie knew a lecture was coming.
"I need to stop by restaurant for awhile. I'll be home in time to start dinner alright?" Mylie nodded and popped the shrimp into a skillet pan along with some seasonings and butter. Garlic shrimp sounded like the perfect way to ease her hunger pains. Mylie expected her mother to leave after that but she remained. Mylie lifted her cinnamon brown eyes to look at her. The look within her eyes said that her mother better come out with it soon because she was getting annoyed. "Your father is supposed to be stopping by today. Be nice. He really wants to spend some time with you. I will see you later sweetheart." Mylie rolled her eyes when her mother kiss her on the top of her head and have her a hug. Mylie did not want to see her father. She had never met him formally from how far back she remembered. He wanted nothing to do with her when she needed him the most. So why should she bother to give him the time of day he wanted now? By the time he got here Mylie planned to be gone anyways. She wanted to go for a walk today. The door closed and Mylie sighed. Her shrimp was finished as well so she was ready to eat and get out of here before she had to actually meet the man who ignored her for years.
