Gaia had seen Ares back at the feast, she wasn't sure what to make of that. One thing she was sure about though, she'd steer clear of his path for the foreseeable future. She'd asked her best friend to meet her in the Antiquated Lavatory, giving the Ravenclaw little to no clues what she had on her mind. If she was quite honest Gaia wasn't sure if she actually wanted to do it. She'd seen the hair dye when she'd gone to buy her Mortar and Pestle, it had been on a whim she'd picked up the bottle.

Still contemplating whether or not she actually wanted to hide the natural red of her hair Gaia peeked into the Lavatory, noting that Rosé was not there yet. Settling in front of one of the sinks she glanced at her long red hair. She wasn't sure how she felt about it most of the time but lately she'd been itching to try something different. Surely she could just dye it and then grow it out. It could be fun, to try another shade or colour for a bit.

When Rose had been asked to join Gaia in the bathrooms of all places, she wasn't quite sure what to expect. She'd ended up dressing in a pair of overalls and a tshirt, fearing that things might get a little messy, but had still done her make up before leaving the common room. Over the holiday she'd started to experiment more and more with colours, and was currently testing which ones would bring out the blue most in her eyes. So far, pink was working the best.

"Are we hiding in here?" Rose asked her friend as she found her peering into a mirror in the girls bog. She slipped her bag from her shoulder, before joining her at the sink next to the Slytherin to make sure none of her eye shadow had moved to a place it shouldn't have. Rose glanced to the drains below their feet,
"should I have brought a cushion?"

Gaia was still internally debating a little when she heard her best friends voice behind her. It almost startled her. Turning to face the Ravenclaw she tilted her head a little. "I love your makeup today" Gaia told her sincerely as she looked at the blonde. "And no we aren't hiding we are here for...." She crouched down to her own bag and began rummaging through the million things in there for the right bottle.

"For this." The third year said as she finally pulled the hair dye out of her bag with a grin. "You are dyeing my hair today." Gaia stated with a nod. She had nobody else she'd trust to do this to her hair except maybe Nia but Rosé had been her first option and only if she was being honest. As much as she trusted Nia touching her hair was something she didn't take lightly.

Rose smiled widely as Gaia complimented her make up, glad that she thought it looked nice too. Her eyes followed the Slytherin as she reached into her bag, waiting eagerly to see what she had up her sleeve. Rose didn't know what she was expecting, but it wasn't to hear that Gaia wanted to dye her hair. "Are you sure?" she said a little hesitantly, looking at the bottle and thinking it looked incredibly dark compared to her current thick red hair. Rose had always admired her best friends hair, it was so thick and shiny and had such a bright colour that it seemed a shame to dye it. Rose was also surprised she was asking her, given she'd never touched it before in her life. The third year held the box up to the girls face, trying to imagine what she'd look like if she went ahead. "Is it permanent?"

Gaia gave an enthusiastic nod to Rosé when she asked if she was sure. "Yes I want to try something different. I am bored of the same colour just want to try something else for change." It wasn't that she particularly hated the red even though their mama always complained about it. In her mama's words it was such a bright colour it didn't suit just anyone and apparently Gaia wasn't the type to suit such hair in their mothers eyes. "I think it's semi-permanent so it'll washout eventually." The Slytherin explained, she'd see how it felt and if she liked it maybe she'd redye it. "Will you do it, pleaseee?" Gaia asked bringing her hands together in a prayer like form, blinking her eyes rapidly and even pouting a little just to seem more desperate.

Rose couldn't exactly argue about wanting to try something new, it wasn't as though Rose was doing any differently. "Okay, fine." Perhaps it would be for the best too, knowing it was semi permanent, because then if she hated it at least she wasn't stuck with it for years. She took the box back to get a closer look at the instructions. "Although, maybe we should ask Mama to help?" she offered, looking at how complicated the rules seemed to be. Besides if something went wrong, Rose didn't want to accidentally set her friends hair on fire or something. Gosh, this would have been so much easier if she were a Metamorphmagus.

Gaia smiled brightly as her best friend agreed. This was why they were best friends and well because Rosé put up with her moody self and because somehow they just clicked the very first time they'd met in front of the Gryffindor common room three years ago. "Good because I would have hated to let Nia have that power over me, or worse yet Eris." She couldn't quite decide which one of her sisters would have been scarier to trust this with. "I don't want to bother her, I'm sure she has better things to do than worry about my hair," Gaia said hesitantly. Merlin knew her mama would never bother with such blasphemy. "Besides you are like good at most things so I have full faith in you." She added with a nod.

Rose thought that maybe one of her sister's would have actually been better placed to dye Gaia's hair, but the Slytherin wasn't having it. The Ravenclaw shot Gaia a look when she suggested Rose was good at most things, "Well, that's a lie," she stated, opening the box as a distraction and something to do. She didn't think she was good at most things, although she certainly tried to be good at the things she put her mind to. "I'll just.. try not to miss anything, okay?" she told the third year. Gaia didn't have eyes in the back of her head so Rose would do her best to make sure she covered up all the red, but she couldn't promise it would look good once she was finished. "Have you got a towel?"

Gaia narrowed her eyes as Rosé said it wasn't true that she was good at most things. Now that one was a lie. "Nope, I don't lie. You definitely are good at a lot of things, matter of fact most things." She said with a matter of fact tone. She did lie probably sometimes but not to her best friend, not about this. Gaia turned around and nodded as the Ravenclaw said she'd try not to miss anything. "Yeah you'll do fine don't stress it too much, okay?" She reassured the other girl before grabbing the towel in her back to show her friend. "I got two, just in case and also this shirt is fine if it gets a little messed up. I stole it from Hera, I think its one of her ex-boyfriends and she was looking to burn it anyways but it has a dragon so I thought it was cool." The Slytherin explained nonchalantly, it had a dragon which was an instant yes for Gaia but since it was one of her sisters ex-boyfriend's she wouldn't mind if it got ruined.

Rose's cheeks were starting to turn red at the thought that Gaia believed she was good at things. She knew the Slytherin had turned to face her but Rose didn't raise her eyes from the task at hand, just nodding instead. "Look ahead," she instructed, the embarrassment of her comments wanting Rose to just get on with the task at hand. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate Gaia noticing what she was doing, but she still didn't want to admit it. "What's Hera doing now?" Rose asked, trying to change the subject to something she seemed as safe, as she started opening bottle and mixes the ingredients as though she was in a potions class. "Last chance to back out?" The third year offered, just in case.

Gaia did as she was told, if only to save Rosé from her staring since the Ravenclaw was clearly feeling quite sheepish about her abilities. "Oh Hera? I think mama pressured her to start at a University to study law or something, I'm not quite sure though I think she met a guy apparently at least that's what Nia said." The Gryffindor had been very secretive about it and so had the oldest sister of theirs, not that Gaia was too keen to gossip about things either. As her best friend offered her a chance to back out the Slytherin just shook her head slightly. "Nope, I am now committed to be a brunette for the next few months." She said confidently, maybe being brunette would make her appreciate the natural red more again.

Rose didn't know if she was going to go to University after Hogwarts. She probably should, right? "Oh," she didn't really know what to say, "Where did they meet?" Rose was just asking questions now for the sake of it, unsure of what Hera was really like, or the world beyond her sisters. Rose listened intently as she got to work, mixing the chemicals together and hoping for the best. "Alright, well here goes," Rose picked up the brush, getting to work separating the Slytherin's hair, just like the way she'd seen in videos at home.

Gaia waited for Rosé to get to work and frowned when the Ravenclaw asked her where her sister had met the new guy. "I think Mania had taken Hera to see around New Zealand because Hera wanted to go to University here I think." She explained the best she could, Gaia hadn't wanted to join the two on that day. "I think it was a friend of Nia's or something, she knew the guy and that's how they met? I hope he is good to her because Hera might be the best of us, not just because she's the oldest but because she is more of a mum than an older sister." She'd never really spoken about her oldest sister, because nobody had ever really asked. It was easy to forget her, even for Gaia, when she was around Nia all the time, but the truth was Hera did a lot for the younger sisters and they all knew it. Gaia felt a surge of excitement when Rosé said she was starting, it was really exciting if she thought about it. She'd look more like her sisters now too and that was good.

Rose thought it would be nice if Hera got into a University here, because then Gaia would see her much more often and she knew the Slytherin would enjoy that. "Nia's friend?" Rose asked again, cautiously dipping the brush into the hair dye and preparing herself to make the first move. "Nia and Hera have similar friends?" Rose didn't know many people in her own year, let alone those old enough to have already graduated. The Ravenclaw swiped the brown goo into Gaia's hair, trying not to breath in the fumes too deeply. "Well I hope he's nice to her too," she added, before thinking about what it must be like to have a mama that wasn't really your mama. Her own mama wasn't her biological mama but that wasn't really the same.
