Jessica Reed was doing what she did most days, lazing about on the long leather sofas, flicking endlessly through music stations, blaring music as loudly as she could just to annoy 'Barbie and Ken'. Who in fact was the new name she had given her brother and his new girlfriend. Jess had hated the girl from the moment she laid eyes on her, everything she hated about teenage girls all seemed to just join together to make this one horrible b*tch. Jess couldn't believe her brother would lower himself down to date this trash. "Ugh." Jess blurted out randomly as she slammed her forefinger down on the button of the muggle remote control. Even the thought of them together just made her feel physically ill. The pair were all over each other most of the time, so much that Jess had to leave the room out of pure disgust. She found herself spending a lot of her time alone in her bedroom, again, doing nothing but lazing around.
However, this day was the day she had been waiting for, for a good few months now, Jenny would be coming over. Her best friend whom she loved to pieces, the thought of being around another person other then her parents, her younger sister, her brother and his barbie girlfriend. The added fact that it was Jenny of all people, just made the situation a thousand times better. When Jess finally decided on a channel she relaxed further into the the luxiourous sofa, allowing the music to absorb her whole attention. But this peace of mind was short-lived as she heard footsteps and voices begin to echo through the hall. She didn't have to see their faces to know who belonged to the voices. Jessica frowned miserably and viciously shut off the muggle television. As Jessica got up to leave, Matt and Kadie had just sweetly entered. Jess didn't spare her brother a glance, her eyes stared straight at Kadie threatingly and made it her business to bash into the girls shoulder roughly as she left the room. She walked lazily into the kitchen, almost as if the effort of walking strained her. Jess took out a clean silver spoon from the drawer and pulled out an unopened carton of chocolate ice-cream. It was her theory that chocolate ice-cream could fix almost anything, yet no matter how many spoonfuls (or cartons) she ate, nothing was taking away the problem of Matthew and Barbie. Jess couldn't do this alone, she need more than chocolate ice-cream.
