Third Years Lesson Six

Professor Adler moved to the front of the empty Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom when the first wave of students walked into the classroom. She greeted them with a large grin, hiding the fact she was a little sad that it would be last lesson she had with two of her children, and a handful of her nieces and nephews. She closed the door once they'd settled in, ''Hello everyone. Welcome to your last lesson before your exams,'' Sure, some of the students wouldn't want to be reminded there were exams coming up, but it was important that they were prepared for it. ''I'll be brief today. I'm giving you the choice to either practice or self-study today.'' It was their choice which they felt was better for now. ''On the board behind me, you will find some notes on vampires, which may appear on the exam. I suggest that you write these down as I will remove them at the end of the period. I suggest that you also read the chapter about vampires.'' She paused for a moment, ''Furthermore, you may stay to observe the grindylow or confront the boggart once more.'' Professor Adler pointed towards the fish tank next to her desk and then at the large wardrobe in the back of the classroom. She had it all in once, so the choices were there. They would also be reminded at what they learned this year so far. ''You may also choose to leave if you want to study in the library or somewhere else where it's quiet. I'll be available to answer any of your questions about the exam or help with the boggart.'' She then dismissed the class and allowed them to do what they wanted. Making sure she walked around to help out wherever needed.

To receive an O:
- Roleplay the lesson

Jasper arrived for the last lesson with Professor Cade, he was pretty sure he had been told that she was a temp, which was a shame because he liked her. He copied down the information about vampires then stayed for the rest of the lesson to revise as he hadn't been doing enough of that recently. Once the time was up, Jasper packed up and left the classroom.

O but it will be an E if you call me Professor Cade again

Exams were right around the corner and Lilith wasn't 100% sure whether or not she was ready for them yet. Technically she knew she was but there was that bit of doubt at the back of her head. Nevertheless the third year walked into the DADA classroom one last time this year before the exam and gave a smile to the professor. Siting down she noted the text on the board and copied it up to her notes. As Professor Adler gave them the choice to either stay in the classroom or leave to go to library Lilith chose the latter option. Packing up her things and making her way to the library to study.

Eli sat towards the middle of the classroom, quietly tucking himself somewhere a decent distance away from anything the professor might throw at them this lesson. He had not been keen on that boggart lesson, and now he had this one to worry about. Not that he knew what was going to entail in it. He quickly took notes that might be needed for the exam, noting the mention of vampires. Maybe they would be in the exam? He didn’t think he ever wanted to meet a vampire, that didn’t sound like it would be a fun time for anyone. He supposed that explained things like bloodpops they had in honeydukes or whatever. He wondered if either of his parents had ever met a vampire, he might have to find out. The lesson ended quickly and he headed back out to prepare for his exams.

Amory wasn't sure what to make DADA other than well it had been okay he supposed. Lumos' mum was a nice Professor so there was that. Taking his usual seat the Slytherin tipped his chair a little back, balancing on the back legs of the thing. Something that was strictly forbidden back in the muggle school he had attended. One student had his chair drilled to the floor so he couldn't do it. Stupid if you asked Amory. Going through his notes he decided he didn't want to indulge in anymore boogers or grinders, so he left the classroom to study elsewhere.

Susie had been thinking for a while about what she was going to say to Professor Adler-Cade. It was their last lesson, and she was probably never gonna see her again, so she had to say something, but she didn't want to sound silly. She sat down at her usual desk, trying to take some notes on vampires - trying, but not really succeeding. Next she moved on to the grindylow. Still as ugly as ever. She wasn't going anywhere near the boggart again, so after doing another quick doodle of the grindylow, she packed up her stuff. Okay. Now or never. Susie forced a smile as she approached the professor. "Hey - um, I know you're not gonna be here forever, and - you know, I just wanted to say thanks." Merlin, that did not come out right. "I really liked you. I like you. I mean, you're a great teacher. So, thanks." Nope. Nope. Time to go. Time to go and never ever ever come back or look at Professor Adler-Cade ever again.

Jonah arrived in class and took notes about vampires. He didn’t really like vampires and he wasn’t sure if he’d ever be up to meeting one. He didn’t get why they would be labeled as a creature either when they were like people. Things were weird like that. He left after class.

Eurydice went to class and frowned at the topic of vampires. It was much better than the boggart lesson she supposed. If they were discussing creatures this year, she wondered if that meant the Ministry classified vampires as creatures which was a bit cruel she thought. But then the blackboard notes said they were beings. So were beings creatures? She didn’t know. She made a note to ask… Kael-nii and left class when dismissed.

Sayuri went to class and listened to the professor talk about vampires. She was glad that this was the last class since she didn't like this professor anyway. Why they couldn't just get a decent professor was beyond her. At least this one was only temporary. Now, if only Waldgrave would also leave permanently. She wrote her notes on the class as she always did. Since she needed to prepare for the exams and this professor was of no help to her, she left the classroom as soon as they were allowed and went to the library to study. Maybe Eli would be up to studying with her since she didn't feature in his boggart last week.

Winnie walked into the defence against the dark arts classroom and took her usual spot in the room. Her gaze moved to the professor at the front of the class as the woman got started. She reminded them about what they had upcoming nd that this lesson would be revision. She nodded lightly and then looked to the board for everything on vampires. Then she grabbed her things and headed out of the room, opting to study in the library. Not wanting to be in even close proximity to a boggart.
