The first and second year students had felt like familiar territory, but with the third years, Ainsley was starting to get a little nervous. She hadn't really had much interaction with teenagers since she was one, and she hadn't done a terrific job of interacting with them back then. They were different from the new eleven year olds she was used to at Ollivanders, and even though she did see a couple of familiar faces walking through the door, everyone looked so different from the children she was used to.
Ainsley had a job to do though, and she was determined to keep her good streak going so she put on a cheerful face and sent up a rush of sparks for attention. "Hi everyone! We're going to get started now." She said, hoping her friendly smile was enough to keep the class engaged. "My name is Professor Lynch, I'm going to be your new Charms teacher. As I don't know anyone here yet, we're going to go around the room and do some quick introductions. We'll do name, house, and one interesting fact about you."
Ainsley was well-practiced in these introduction sessions by this point. "My name is Ainsley Lynch, I was a Hufflepuff when I was a student here, and my interesting fact is that I used to run Ollivanders and work as a wandmaker - I likely sold some of you your wands, and almost certainly made quite a few." She smiled, looking around to try and see if she could spot any particularly familiar looking faces. Which... no, not the point. Determined not to let herself get distracted, Ainsley gestured for the first student to begin their own introductions.
Once the class was finished going around, Ainsley flicked her wand, a list of spells appearing on the blackboard behind her. "Alright, we're only doing an introductory session today, so we'll finish up there. This is this year's list of spells - please have a look through your books, and make sure you're familiar each week with what we'll be studying next. Next week is both the Cheering and Locomotion charms, so please make sure you look through those chapters. Other than that, you may go!" She said cheerfully.
