Geo had actually had this dress since she was a seventh year at Hogwarts. She'd fully intended on wearing it to the Yule Ball for her final year, although things in her last year at school hadn't gone to plan. Now that she was back however, she'd stripped the sleeves and added a train, giving the black dress more a feel similar to the creatures that students would study in her lessons. Sure, she wouldn't specifically try to scare the students but if they saw her costume as Dementor robes then it would be fitting for the occasion. The blonde was walking around the event, complimenting some of the students' outfits as she went, and hoped that the evening of spooky games would be nostalgic, reminding her of what it was like to be in their shoes.

Hazel always loved getting creative with her costumes and adding her own clothes into them whenever she could. Who could say fairies didn't wear glittery dresses, after all? With her wings fluttering behind her and the flowers decorating her face, Hazel felt quite beautiful as she moved around the hall. The dress was the only part of the costume she hadn't made herself this time, and she was pretty proud of the result. She was keeping an eye out for her friends or her boyfriend, though she hadn't spotted any of them yet. She wasn't entirely sure if Kyousuke even planned to come tonight, though she knew he liked costumes almost as much as she did.

She moved past a small group of giggling second years and nearly bumped into someone she almost hadn't noticed. She took a small step back, her hands up. "Oh, sorry professor." She said, recognizing the new professor she thought was here temporarily. She was pretty sure she taught the lower years, so she wasn't someone that would teach Hazel, but she still didn't want to leave a bad impression. She took in the woman's costume and smiled appreciatively. "That dress is awesome, did you alter it?"

Geo especially loved the costumes that put their full body into it. It wasn't just something they wore, but the hair and the make up, too. The blonde didn't quite move out the way of a group of students in time, bumping into one with wings, and she was more alarmed that the student may have damaged her outfit more than Geo was worried about herself. "If only those wings were real, you could fly above these crowds," she smiled, thinking it would have been convenient if she view the event from up high so she wouldn't have to worry about getting in the way of others. "You've got so much detail there, I love it!" The professor eyed up the students costume with a grin, trying to work out how the girl in front of her had achieved the look.

"This?" She hadn't expected her own dress to catch anyone's attention, "I did! Thank you! It was for a yule ball once, a long time ago," over half her lifetime ago now, "but a pair of scissors later, I think it's much more fitting for Halloween, don't you think?" Perhaps she should have completed the look with a long hood, but if she were honest she didn't mind being recognised. "I don't think I've met you," she announced, her blue eyes fixed on the girl as she tried to work out whether she was in her third year class, but she was quite sure she wasn't. "Will I be teaching you in the fourth year's defense class next semester?" she quizzed. It would have been nice to know one person ahead of time.

Hazel beamed as the professor complimented her costume, taking a step back and holding out her arms a bit. "Thanks!" She said brightly. "I wish I could, but they're just made out of fabric, glue, and a lot of hope." She said with a small grimace. The professor went on to say the dress had once been made for the yule ball, which made Hazel realize she probably went to school here too. That was strange. "That's so cool! But no, I'm in fifth year." She said with an apologetic smile. "You might get my brother, he's in second- though I apologize in advance if you do." She added with a slight grimace.

As Professor Adler watched the girl showing her her costume, Geo had to admit she reminded her a lot of herself at that age. She grinned in return, chuckling at the idea of hope as an ingredient. "Well, it certainly seems to be working out in your favour," she wouldn't have been surprised if it won one of the contests. She did her best to hide her disappointment at the idea this girl was a fifth year, it was a shame really. "What's your brother's name?" she enquired, hoping to make a mental note of it for the following semester. She wasn't too alarmed by the warning mind you, Geo had three children and five step-children, and so far, she hadn't met a student she couldn't get along with.

Hazel beamed, she always loved getting compliments about her clothes and getting them from a professor was even better. As the professor asked for Logan's name, Hazel briefly wondered if she was being a bit unfair to her brother, but she could really only imagine him being a menace in class. Or bored. Probably the latter. "Logan." She said. "He's running around here somewhere dressed as a werewolf."
