These blue robes

Waving off her comment. He wasn't a reader. It wasn't something that really interested him. He could try, but, it wasn't happening. It never bothered him. His friends were sort of readers, but he didn't need to be a reader. In his family he wasn't the reader. He was the doer. He went out into the world and lived rather than having his head in a book reading someone elses world. It was probably why he wasn't that smart and found little jealousy for those who were. He knew that while they were book smart, how many of them would be able to go into a local town and be well known. "With her books, I keep a few, but mostly I repair them, using magic and make them look brand new, and send them back to her, not saying they are from me." He said honestly. "I have no use for them, and her entire livelihood is on selling books. Which in the muggle world is a dwindling thing." He was all about helping people. Which was why he did such things. Why he bothered to help people who wouldn't otherwise have too much help. Which was why he didn't mind what she said. He knew that she was a ravenclaw. If he had thought that she wasn't interested in books then he didn't know smart people. His twin was smart, she was a huge reader. He was happy sitting in the cafe with Alice. Waiting for their drinks, waiting happily as she seemed surprised that he spoke the three. It was a fairly large necessity. Since his family was a mixture of the three, plus a little bit of Serbian. Not that he minded. He loved his family. All the part of it. He missed his mum, but the one he had currently was nice and he got along unsurprisingly well with her. She on the other hand, didn't seem to like the topic of family. He knew that others weren't so close to their family. Felix was from a huge family, that was a small issue for him, making him generally unseen, but he was the kind of person who was okay with it. "Yeah, born in Spain. Raised in Spain. And well, I had to learn French to come to Beauxbatons. Learned it from my dad who went to the school as well. And english, well, my step mum speaks it. Since she lived in England, and her daughter, my step sister goes to Hogwarts in Scotland." Felix had a complex family, that was for sure. "And I also speak a bit of Serbian. Like little words, but a little bit." Felix shrugged, he had never thought too much about the fact he could speak a few. They all sort of merged into one. For him, there was difference. He just knew the languages, there was nothing odd or cool about that. He wasn't sure how to lighten the mood again. But, then Felix being Felix thought of something. "I love beaches. My brothers and I love the beach. However, when I go to the beach, it's me, my three brothers, 4 sisters, and most of the cousin in the surrounding area. No such thing as a quiet trip to the beach in the Garcia family." Felix spoke fondly of his brothers, of his entire family. He just always smiled thinking of them. "How are you liking Beauxbatons so far? It's not so bad is it?"

Alice watched Felix carefully, watching how he responded to different situations. It was fascinating, seeing someone so open in such a lovely environment. Seeing it made Alice realise how closed she had been to the world, how closed she had been to everyone. She didn't want to be like that anymore, and so made a concious decision to change. She would try and see the world as Felix did - the beauty, the freedom, the laughter. But not just see it, as she did at the moment, as if through a fogged window, but actually experience it, breathe it, live it, love it. Allowing the moment of a decision to sink in to her blood and her veins, she smiled. Felix was talking about books and so Alice turned her attention to the words he was saying. "That's very sweet of you." She mused, wondering how someone could be so friendly and care so much about everyone he came across. It was amazing - a miracle person! His history came into the topic next and she listened, trying to keep up. "Wow, that's a pretty intricate family you have! In mine it's just plain old me, my mum and dad and my younger sister Grace. My parents are muggles, dad a doctor and mum a primary teacher, and Grace hasn't shown any signs of being magical yet." Alice paused, hovering on this point as the reality of this hit her. She had always thought that her sister would have magic, as Alice did, and she had dreamed of the day when she would teach her, help her and train her so she was the best in her year. But maybe that wouldn't come around. Grace had time, and Alice knew that some muggle-borns didn't show any magic until they got to their school, but Alice felt a niggle of doubt settle in. Felix's family sounded so lovely, he seemed so fond of them all, and that was something that raised jealousy in the young brunette. What she would give to be fond of her family, to really love and enjoy the company of her parents, to not coil up when they came up in topic. Grace she had no issue with, and the young innocent child didn't know of her elder sister's problems with their parents. She rejected the topic away from the whirlwind of her thoughts and smiled at Felix's question. "Hm. Well, it's getting... better, I guess. I moved in with Meera Gupta recently and she is helping me see the school as more than, well, a school. She's lovely!" Her tone had lightened, a good sign. It had been a long time since the topic of her school had brought about a cheerful tone in comparison to her parents.

Not seeing what he did as out of the norm, Felix just always thought that what he did was what anyone would really do. Looking at the situation that they were in. He wasn't much of a reader, but that didn't matter, because others were and a second hand book shop did well in a small town with often tourists at peak times in the year. It was good for him in his mind to just do his part to help out, and that was really all he thought it as. Him doing his part to help the whole community, and help his friend's mother. He would've thought that it was what any person in his situation would do. He thought that Alice would do the same. Which was why when she said it was sweet of him, he just shrugged at her. "It's what anyone would do." He just said. Maybe he was sort of naive to think the rest of the world was as kind as he was most of the time, but he preferred the term optimistic. The world just didn't see itself in the same way that Felix did. Everything in his eyes was good. He tried to make sure that almost everything he did was to help those that needed it. he just had that nature in him, it was just the way in which he liked to spread fun. Just have fun with all those around him. Fun, and happiness were what he lived for, and he was always keen to share it with others. As she spoke of her family, he felt a little sorry. Mostly because he had gone on about his family, in a sense, and he had a large family, and she didn't have much of one. He knew all families were different, and maybe hers worked better at such a small size, but he was very used to lots of people, and lots of noise. "Well there is a fifty, fifty chance of her being magical, and if she is or isn't, she can be friends with my two younger siblings. They are always looking for other kids to mess around with." He said with a smile, thinking that being an only child while your sister was at school would be lonely, and he knew his father was always keen to make new friends. It was the Garcia nature to be friendly and kind. So, he hoped she wouldn't mind his slight forwardness. He was just like that, and so was his family. "Although a doctor? Now that is cool" He said, since he didn't know any muggle doctors. "If I was at all studious, which I'm not, I would do something like be a healer. It would be amazing to spend every day helping people." Felix was not at all studious but the guy could dream. He nodded as she spoke, of her new roommate. And well, he wasn't surprised that she was lovely. Felix had been at the school long enough to know of Meera. He'd seen her about, at parties and such. Which made him think that maybe he might see a whole lot more of Alice. Just as he was about to speak, the waitress arrived back, handed the two of them their drinks. Before turning to Felix and saying she'd made him her favourite drink, which was a mocktail of very fresh tasting fruit juices. She then placed the food on the table as well as the bill. Before Alice could do anything, he pulled some euros from his jean pocket, and handed it to the girl, with a small smile, "Keep the change", he said, the waitress smiled at them, before leaving the receipt and taking the money. "Meera that's cool." He said as he took a sip of his drink, which he had to agree was simply amazing. "I've never talked to her but she and I sometimes end up at the same parties. She seems nice, but I don't get why everyone thinks she's so stunning. Or fall over themselves trying to impress her. She's pretty, but, not my type." He shrugged at Alice. His type was more someone he could easily talk to, not someone who was very proper, or at times appeared full of herself. Which he didn't really like. "So, will I be seeing you at the Head boy's birthday party? I know that Meera's invited and I'm sure you are too."

Alice smiled sweetly at Felix as he reassured her about Grace. The offer was a kind one, and Alice was sure her little sister would enjoy that. The young girl was shy and not confident with making new friends, but Alice was sure that if she helped with the introductions, there could be something there. She nodded. "If that would be okay, I'm sure she would love that. Her French is improving so rapidly being in a French school, but she hasn't found many close friends yet." Her heart was breaking for her younger sister, but at points she forgot the young girl's trials to focus on her own. And that upset her more. It was a combination of pain and happiness, the feelings of her family. Alice shrugged off the comments of her father's profession. She had once worshipped him, worshipped his job, but that had all changed. "Yeh, being a healer would be awesome. I've looked into it, but I'm not sure if it would be for me. I like the idea of working for the ministry, and helping bring order to the magical world, but you know - I haven't really looked into it yet. Or a professor. I love all my subjects, but I wouldn't be able to decide what to teach!" She laughed, before wondering if this topic would be making Felix uncomfortable. "Have you got any idea?" She asked, wondering what other professions magical people could go into without going into the muggle jobs. The topic of Meera seemed to bring up lots of different reactions from people. Alice hadn't realised quite how exceptional and popular the girl was until she had heard about her from others. "She is stunning." She added, wondering how honest she could be with Felix. "As is Charlotte. I don't know her too well yet, but I would like to get to know her better." She added, trying to find the right words to explain how she felt. "Please don't tell anyone this, and as much as I love sharing a room with them and being around them, I'm not in their social ranking. They have this sort of status above everyone else and I don't. I sometimes wonder why I'm around." Alice was doing a bad attempt at explaining how she felt, so she gave up, running her finger around the rim of her coffee before taking a sip. The coffee was good and she smiled, before taking another sip. She looked at Felix, wondering if he had understood what she was trying to say. She didn't know what it was, so she had no idea how to phrase it, but she hoped that something was communicated. "It was just so simple with Ava. No fancy fancy parties, no dress codes to live up to in an average day. But the other girls in the dorm didn't seem to like me, and I'm not saying they aren't lovely, just I don't know if I fit in." She nodded about the party, not too bothered about it yet, and unsure what she would wear or do at the party. But the prospect of Felix being there cheered her up and she smiled at him, thinking at least they could have a laugh if she didn't fit in.

He was sure that no matter how good the girl's english or French was, his siblings would have no problem being friends with her. While they were only half Garcia, they were just like the rest of the family. Like them, in everything but real appearance. Both being blonde and slightly pale, where as Felix and his brothers and sisters were all of darker skin. Tanned. They had dark hair. But this wasn't an issue that bothered him too much. He was happy to just give her the number to pass on, so that maybe she could have a few more friends. He leaned over, and from within his bag pulled out what really appeared to be notes from a class. he tore the corner of the paper off, took out a pen and wrote down a number, before sliding it over to her. "The number for my home in Spain." He said, "For your sister" He shrugged slightly, giving her a small smile. He didn't do that sort of thing often. He was maybe the kind of guy who was kind and honest, but that was definitely something he didn't do often. As much as he spoke of his family, he liked keeping them apart. It was only his twin who was at school with him that he ever spoke out. The rest didn't really matter. They just existed along side his family. The beaux boy nodded as she spoke. A healer that would be fun, but, he wasn't so interested in that sort of thing. He wasn't studious he knew he'd never do well in a position like that. He liked the idea of helping people, but he didn't think he'd be able to do it by teaching, or being in the ministry He leaned forward when she asked what he wanted to do, "I think I'd like to spend my life doing whatever takes my fancy that day." He smirked slightly at her, "I'm not good at school, I'm pretty close to failing everything, I want to work or own a cafe, wake up at 4am, make the bread for the day, watch the sunrise, go for a walk, maybe it would be a walk along the french coast, or in the heart of London. I want to be free, to do whatever I want. No job to tie me down, no real fixed home. So, while if I was studious, I'd spend every day saving lives, I much prefer my idea of just living free. helping those that need it, on the day they need it." He leaned out, and continued to smile at her, taking a small sip of his drink. He knew that she probably wouldn't be too interested in his idea of a life, it wasn't too set in stone. But he hated the idea of being stuck. Of doing something that would eventually grow to make him unhappy. He was surprised what she said after, she also stayed with Charlotte, Felix had a little history with her, nothing more than stolen glances and a lot of conversations with subtext. He had no idea that Alice was staying with her.

"Charlotte Williams, right?" He asked, wanting to be sure it was the Charlotte that he was thinking of. He would've asked more, but she continued, not in their social ranking, he smiled sympathetically. Though he had no idea what it felt like, he knew that it would be confusing. He let her stop, since he knew there would have to be something else, and he was right. Life with Ava would be simpler, but, it wasn't as good, especially if they didn't seem to like her. Felix pondered it. Took a sip of his drink, before looking out to the hills. "I don't know Meera, or Charlotte that well, I know the two are high society. I know Charlotte's in line to the throne of Britain. So, they are sort of a status above everyone." He looked round at Alice, and just smiled at her. "But, I do know that if they didn't like you, if they felt that you didn't fit in with them, then you wouldn't be there. Meera had one friend before, and Charlotte, well, she's a lot more down to earth that it would first appear. She used to hang out with me and my friends all the time. Doing the same stupid sh1t we did." He smiled at her. "So, while Ava's dorm was simpler, the thing about Charlotte and Meera is they probably won't ever expect you to try to fit in, they won't ask you to change, because if they didn't like you, like you are now, you'd be out of the room." Felix took a sip of his drink. He wasn't sure how right he was, he didn't know girl's very well, and he much less knew the high society girls, but he was sure that would be true. "And let's not kid ourselves Lissy, you're a beautiful person. And you're kind so they should feel honored to have you." He grinned at her happily, taking another sip of his drink. He liked Alice a lot, he liked the way she was kind, and she wore her emotions better than others. He liked her honesty, but he also knew that she would never go for a guy like him. Unstudious, crazy, overly friendly with everyone. He didn't think he had a chance, so he wasn't bothering to put himself too much out there. "But, I'm a guy, I don't know how right I am about this." He gave a small laugh, hoping that he had maybe made her feel better. Just a little bit.

Alice smiled gratefully as she took the paper. She would make sure that it worked out for Grace, and it would be nice to escape for a while on her next holiday to go and see a friend. Spending time with Felix couldn't be a bad thing as far as Alice could see, as so far, he had treated her well and made her happy when she wasn't. He was a lovely guy and was being a brilliant friend. She listened to his thoughts on the future and pondered on them. He seemed to have a plan, but not one that Alice would choose for herself. She wanted to settle down, to find love and live in her job. She smiled to herself, wondering if Felix would be able to find a girl who didn't want a 'real fixed home'. She personally couldn't live like that, but she hoped for his sake that someone out there could live like that. Not wanting to ruin his dream though, she decided to let her thoughts die away. Alice nodded at the question of Charlotte. "Yes that's her name." She agreed, wondering what Felix knew. He went on to explain that both were in high society but at the mention of Charlotte being in the line to the British line, Alice choked on her drink. Taking a moment to cough the drink from her wind-pipe, she looked up at Felix laughing. "Are you serious? Like serious? I never knew that. Is that awful of me, not knowing a friend is British royalty, and I'm British? That's awful. Oh my word, I can't believe I never knew that. I mean even if she didn't tell me, I should know the general heir line. But she can't be in the top ones, otherwise I would've known that. I wonder if Meera knows. She must, they know a lot about each other, I can see that." Alice paused, taking another sip of her drink and thinking about the news that had just hit her. She was surprised that Charlotte used to spend time with Felix's group, knowing that they were in completely different social groups. It seemed rude to be surprised though, so she made sure her face didn't reflect her emotions. "I know, but sometimes it all just feels like a dance to life, and I can't dance as you know!" She laughed, recalling the first topic of their first conversation. She looked down blushing, at Felix's comment about her being beautiful. She didn't believe it but she accepted it rather than making a thing of it. "Merci" She commented quickly, looking for a reason to move on. "No, it sounds like wise words, I'll try to see it in that light, no matter how hard." She smiled, sipping her drink a little more and looking around, taking in the view and wondering what Felix had planned for the rest of the day.

Felix knew very little about the girl they were talking about. Most of what he knew were from the few times she'd hung out with them, and as he had very quickly discovered, she wasn't the chatty type when it came to real details about her history. Which was interesting to him, since he was under the impression that all girls had this love of princesses and all loved the idea of being a princess. So much more than Felix had ever had the desire to be a prince. He just shrugged, when Alice spoke. He knew she wasn't too high up. And it was subject to change with marriages and other children. It was quite something. Something he was glad didn't really exist for him. He knew that he wouldn't deal well with that sort of pressure. He was a free spirit and he cared little about the folks around him. Only really thinking about how it would make him incredibly unhappy to have to live as she probably had to. He just however shrugged. Unsure of what else to say. "She doesn't talk about it." He said, trying to make Alice feel a little better for not knowing. "I didn't know to begin with, it wasn't until, my step-sister told me. And that was mostly because my step-sister was in love with the guy that Charlotte liked, and my step-sister likes to know everything about her competition when it comes to guys." He said going into maybe too much detail, but unlike most people Felix didn't care. he was alright with her knowing all about him. Every small detail. They were friends after all.

"From what I know, she's not high up, but not exactly low down. But she's really just Charlotte to me. You know, the beautiful blonde who used to hang out with my group" He once again shrugged. he didn't know, that was the problem. He knew so little about this person, and he felt sort of bad not being able to explain it better to Alice. Since he didn't really like not being able to help. He picked up his glass and raised it to his lips. Taking a long sip of his drink, before putting it back onto the table. He gave a small laugh, he was sure that it would be fine, she was smart, she'd find her place. Find a way around the dancing, of that he was sure. She managed herself well around him. "You'll figure it out!" He said happily, he was glad that she seemed to agree with him, taking into consideration what he was saying. Which was really all he had set out to do. "Now, after this, we'll go to the park. And before you say that we're too old for parks, not this one. It's incredible. It's got apple trees, peach trees, apricot trees. It had a large terrace over looking the garden, since the entire thing is on a slope. It's got a view like this one, but it's if possible more incredible." Felix talked of it, like it was something he loved. And it was. He loved that park. The apples weren't great but in the summer the trees were ripe, the apricots were juicy. The figs were delicious. He loved everything about it, he was happy to show that to Alice. "I promise, you'll love it"

Alice nodded and shrugged, still trying to swallow the fact that had been presented so casually to her. She realised it was probably different for Felix, having grown up in Spain. But for Alice, this was her country, her heir to the throne. No matter how far down she was on the list, she was still on the list. Swallowing more of her drink absentmindedly, she let herself think about the royalty she did know of. She knew the first 7 or so heirs to the throne, but then it got hazy. After all, she hadn't been in England for a good amount of time for a while now, so she let herself have that excuse. But the next time they met, well, that would be interesting. Would Alice ask her? Could she ask her? Weighing up whether to ask Felix these questions or not, she decided on the latter, hoping that she would resolve her hanging issue another time, maybe on the journey home. Well, back to Beauxbatons. Back to the castle. Felix described Charlotte as 'the beautiful blonde' and Alice nodded, finding that those were accurate words to describe the girl - sorry, princess - that she knew. A smile played on her face when Felix continued with her example of dancing through life and she turned to hear the plan for the afternoon. Looking out at the beautiful view that was around them, Alice noticed the sun emerging from behind a fluffy white cloud. As it appeared, it set everything in view on fire with white, pure and radiant colours. Like a little child, Alice pointed and squealed. The sight was beautiful, the whole market place illuminated and glowing, like a divine being. Pausing and taking a deep breath with her eyes closed, she then turned to Felix. Her eyes opened, blinking at the change of light before she smiled again. "This, is truly truly beauty." She said, her words clear and exact with a softness about them that came when she was in love with someone or something. The plan seemed fun and Alice laughed at Felix's insistence that she might offer that they are too old for the park. "No one is ever too old for the park! There is something for everyone there!" She listened to his description of the park and smiled at how romantic he made it sound. She knew they weren't there on a date, as only friends, but still, it sounded romantic. Unsure whether to comment on it or not, she finished up the remains of her drink and waited for Felix.

It was fair to assume that while Felix really did like Alice, he had quite the crush on the blonde they were discussing, it was easy to think such a thing, considering that the blonde they spoke of was indeed stunning. He was never the kind of guy who saw status, or background, he just dealt with the person that was in front of him, both good and bad traits. It was why he was very often used by others who were set on just achieving their own ends without thinking of those around themselves. It was the one thing he hated about people, and Felix was not the hating type. He was much more loving. He always attempted to see the good in people, even if they could not always see it in themselves. It was much like how he was with most things. he saw the good rather than the bad. Felix smiled at Alice, as she commented on how beautiful it was. He had to agree, as he stared off into the distance that she was staring in, he had to agree, it was stunning. Truly stunning. With not one fault. It was why he truly loved where Beauxbatons was in the world. All the magical schools were in incredible areas, but this had to be the best of the lot. The one that above all else was simply stunning. More stunning than they'd want to claim, than they would want to admit. He noticed that Alice was finished with her drink, and so he too finished his drink. Downing it in practically the one go. He smiled at her, as he prepared to leave. The waitress from before noticed that they were leaving, and came to take away their now empty cups. Felix thanked her with his usual charming smile, before stepping away, motion for Lissy to follow him. He took a few steps and waited until she stood by his side. It was just hitting the end of midday, and the sun was high in the sky, everything was more quiet than before, their footsteps were the only sound, echoing through the streets. He lead her down a small path, with a small staircase leading up, as it was possible to go much higher than they already were.

Eventually the staircase stopped, and they were greeted with the sight that Felix had talked about. To one side of them, was a large garden, greener than what was imaginable. It seemed to head back down the side of the hill, every so often a tree would hang over a person's garden, or balcony. Not far from where they had emerged, was an edge, the terrace he had spoken about, Felix gave Alice a smile, before breaking away and running right to the edge were a small wall barely higher than the boy's knees stood. He jumped on to the wall, basking in the bright midday sun which shone down upon him, making him almost blind. He held his arms out and let out a long, woohoo. It echoed, this was why he loved this town, this was why he knew upon leaving school that he would settled himself there. Why he would happily spend all of his time in this place. "Come on," Felix turned to Alice and said, loudly. He really hoped that she was unafraid of heights. He smiled at her, the wall he stood on, was not too high. It was sort of an illusion, it looked as though it was the edge of the hill, where as less than a metre below was part of the garden. He looked back round at Alice, turning, with his back facing the edge. He smiled at her, before jumping backwards from the wall, only falling the short distance and landing badly, but not badly enough to cause any pain or damage. He looked up at the wall, and waited for Alice.

Seriously sorry about how long this took. I have no valid excuse really, just sorry
