Not for the first time, headmaster wondered why he was expected to make introductions at the Yule Ball. His students and staff (hopefully) knew where they were and which event they were attending. Thankfully, he guarded this thought and gave the masses what they wanted. "Welcome to this year's Yule Ball," he spoke, "and before I forget, enjoy the holiday!" He grinned. "Have fun, be merry, and please don't defile the punch bowl." Gabe coughed after that one, waving his right hand at the orchestra. The instruments rose from their seats and began to play themselves. Balls of light danced excitedly through the branches of Hogwarts New Zealand's proud Pohutukawa tree. The dark-haired wizard knew this would be a Yule Ball to remember.
