The Sorting Ceremony

Reuben and Ruldolf's company on the train ride was a comfort Remy sorely missed when he parted ways with them to follow behind a group of unfamiliar children. Remy soon realized the group would be his peers, and knew that the sorting ceremony was imminent as he followed them into the castle. He was finally going to be sorted, and finally learn everything he could about magic. Something that should have made him excited but instead made him feel extremely nervous. His eyes remained fixed to the floor and his hands began to shake as he felt nothing but overwhelmed with change, worrying about everything that could go wrong when he eventually arrived to the great hall and the sorting ceremony, instead of everything that could have gone right. The large doors that opened to the sight of the hall fortunately distracted Remy from his worries, and brought an expression of wonderment to his face as he looked up to the ceiling that depicted the night sky. He then looked from the enchanted ceiling to the four prominent tables along the length of the hall, eyeing them for the sight of his brothers and Raylee, knowing they would all be in different places. He spotted Reuben first, then Rudolf and waved to each of the twins with a wide smile on his face. Remy also waved when he saw Raylee sitting at the Slytherin table, though was undeterred by the glare she gave him. The distraction from his siblings was welcomed although short lived when the group reached the front of the hall, and the person Remy assumed was the headmistress read out a list of names, one by one.

Remy watched in awe while the hat sorted different people from the group, finding the ceremony fascinating until his own name was called. A lump then formed in his throat, his worries suddenly returning as he walked up to the stool and sat down, feeling the eyes of everyone in the school on him while he waited for the hat to make a decision that would impact his life for the next seven years.

Beata was nervous about being sorted. Gary had attended Beauxbatons, and Elisa had attended Durmstrang. Her biological parents had both been Gryffindors, so part of her wanted to be in Gryffindor. Bee's parents were gone, and she wanted to hold on to them however she could. Counseling only made her want to forget about the entire accident, but it was be treacherous for her to forget her parents. Beata waited in line impatiently. She needed to know where she was going to be placed, and she needed to know now. The girl was not normally so eager for anything, but she hated the anxiety waiting was giving her. Her adoptive parents had no expectations of her. The only expectations that were heavy on her heart were her own.Beata heard her name called. The mood was stiff, but she made it to the stool and sat.

"I'm quite sure your parents would you want you in the right house more than their house - and for you, the right house is absolutely SLYTHERIN!"

Orpheus did not want to wait in the long line to have to get sorted. He just wanted to hear his name get called so that he could eat. Food was very important to him at the moment because he was hungry. Soon his name was called and he took a seat on the stool.

"Unquestionably a SLYTHERIN!"

Stepping through the magnificent great hall doors, Isla's eyes widen in shock. Hundreds of teenagers stare back at the group of small people walking through the midst of four long tables, like the one back at the orphanage that she ate dinner on. She gazed around her, making sure to keep her tiny frame close enough to the rest of the kids ahead of her.
Wandering her eyes to the different features of the rooms, Isla notices that each table of students had a certain colour accent to their clothes. It must have something to do with the houses the professor mentioned just moments before. That we shall get sorted into.
Noticing the others had stopped, Isla managed to stop herself from bumping into the tall, slightly intimidating boy in front of her, before looking up to be happily amazed. The ceilibg seems to have gotten lost in the magnificent night sky above, shining down on the glorious castle.
Finally focusing her attention to the front of the hall, she noticed that students are being called one by one to sit down and have a slightly aging hat to be placed on their heads, before being sorted into their houses. Being almost last, Isla Idea was only among 2 other students when her name was called, bringing her forward.
"Gossing, Isla."
Quickly scurrying forward, Isla sits on the wobbly stool, keeping her head down as the suprisingly soft leather covers her head, dropping down on her small head to cover her eyes and bridge of her noise. Then, a wispery voice speaks.

Calvin stood with Sybil and the year group in the great hall, the only person in the room he knew he could trust and count on for anything. The boy was growing impatient, he was itching to be sorted and his glare was directed at whoever was in front of him, unfortunately for them. He didn't care though as his attention was on the sorting hat. Calvin had no idea how to feel about its singing and whether it actually did have talent in the music field. The boy's eyes were on Sybil only as she walked up and sat on the stool, got sorted and went to the hufflepuff table. He didn't know whether he himself would be in the same house as her, but he wouldn't mind being in that yellow house if it meant they were housemates. He knew it would be unlikely but one could never know. Not soon enough it was his turn to go up and he stalked to the stool where the sorting hat was placed onto his head. He waited for the voice to announce his home for the next, hopefully not miserable, seven years.</SIZE></FONT>

Although New Zealand was small, Ollie had found that the train ride to Hogwarts had taken what felt like decades. If her stomach wasn't in knots she could have taken a long nap instead she sat starring out the window onto the country side and wondered if muggles could see this train or if it was like so many things and missed although it was right under their collective noses. The girl brought her lucky cricket ball and throughout the ride she bounced it from hand to hand, barely speaking to anyone else in her compartment because she was so nervous and excited to finally go to proper school. Muggle school was fine but a girl like Ollie knew she was meant for more than just maths and literature so now that her time for patience was finally over she had such a mix of emotions but mostly she just wanted to find where she belonged in the world. Before long the blonde was advised to change into her school robes which she did, feeling a fair bit more comfortable in robes rather than the muggle drapery that she'd donned to make things a little less obvious to those in her town. She loved Balclutha because it was home but if she dressed like a wizard there people would actually notice that something was different and her parents seemed to love living surrounded by muggles. Since it meant she could watch her favourite sports Ollie never really thought much to act out in that sort of defiance although keeping this a secret was the hardest thing to do because she had a very nervous habit of sharing absolutely everything and anything to people.

Once Ollie had changed it wasn't long until the students had arrived and were a hoard waiting to be picked off one by one and it was not the first time that she had wondered what house she would be placed. Of all the houses Slytherin appealed most to the Atwater girl because she felt that although the house was not well loved that she could find herself there because there were times when she was the odd one out with a majority of the girls at her muggle school being into ballet or gymnastics when she loved rugby and horseplay with her friends and brothers. She felt that there was a home for her there with all the misfits and the oddballs as her mom had once told her of the house. But really Ollie had no control over it and she felt helpless as she heard her name called.

"Atwater, Olivia."

Ollie shuffled up to the seat and was glad she had kept her cricket ball in the pocket of her robes as she held on tight to it while she felt the Sorting Hat placed onto her head. She closed her eyes, hating that so many eyes were on her as she waited for the hat to say something as she desperately wished this would be a more private matter for those who were hardly there to showboat. Still in the forefront of her mind she hoped to get into Slytherin - she wanted to belong somewhere and if any house could understand that she knew it was the Snakes.

"There are athletic young witches in every house in Hogwarts! Slytherin isn't unique in that regard - it has all sorts with all sorts of interests, too. You're no Slytherin. You're much more a HUFFLEPUFF!"

Irvine couldn't afford to be nervous - but deep inside his gut the way the butterflies flapped their wings deceived his calm outsides. The ten year old felt like he was competing in the Olympics or something with the way his palms were sweating and heart was beating. The school in itself was amazing, like something ripped straight from a storybook. He'd read comics about the magical world, about witches with wart noses - about witches who were beautiful. Wizards who did wonders, and even warlocks who destroyed worlds. After all the cartoon Scooby Doo had a movie that was almost half a century old all about the evils of magic. Irvine wondered if that was contained in the school as well.

When he stood among the crowd and the names were called off one by one, he came to the foreboding realization that he'd be pretty close to last. Curse his name - Willowsby, what kind of person took that surname. He'd have to have words with his great, great grandmother for taking that name. After all with magic involved couldn't he talk to the dead? The brunette kid wasn't sure - but he'd have to at least try. He stood in his black dress shoes for what felt like an hour as the hat shouted Hufflepuff or Gryffindor - Slytherin or Ravenclaw. These houses meant nothing to him, he'd barely listened to the song and hadn't been able to really study much considering he was finishing his favorite comic books before feeling he needed to leave them behind.

"Willowsby, Irvine."

Finally it was time for the boy to make his way up there. There were only a handful or more left and he approached the stool and sat down. What was he supposed to think about while he was there? His football team that he'd never play for again - oh maybe on summers. "Hat, I need somewhere that's cool. Somewhere that I'll fit in." He whispered, hoping to get through to him that yellow was not his color - and that green washed him out. Red was the color of the battlefields in his books, and blue the color of the Zealand sky. He liked those.

"Houses are a lot more than colours. But fortunately for you, you're a GRYFFINDOR!"

Troy hadn't wanted to go to Hogwarts. He had a life back home, he had what had considered normal, what felt comfortable. He liked his life, his family his friends, then suddenly he got a letter that changed everything. Troy then found himself on a train to a strange school and a whole new world awaited him, one he didn't want. The train ride had been interesting, he met some good people and as he got to knew them he began to think that maybe his new school wouldn't be so bad, even if he was giving up ice hockey, so far in his life the only thing he had ever been good at.

Arriving at the school Troy and the rest of the arrivals were taken off to the Great hall. The room was already bustling with students, some of which seemed to stare at them as they walked between the tables. One by one the students were called up to have a hat put on their head. It seemed odd but most of the students didn't seem phased so Troy said nothing. He wasn't nervous, it wasn't often he did, but for the most part he didn't know what was going on so didn't know what there was to be nervous about. Students went up to the hat and were placed in a house and went off to sit at a table, soon Troy's name was called. He looked around at the people around him before stepping out of the crowd and up to the stool.

The ride to Hogwarts New Zealand was an awkward one for Caelan, both him and Teagan's families were there to say their farewell. He even heard his uncle tell Teagan to look out for her cousin. The young lad would only hear his cousin talk when she offers him lunch or snacks that she would buy for him. The rest of the journey was silent until they came to Hogwarts, where Teagan bid him goodbye and gave him a good luck kiss on the cheeks as she ran to her friends. As the rest of the new comers made their way to the boat docks and did another journey with boats to the other side, Caelan wasn't still sure if studying on the same school with his cousin was a great idea. He knew he has to do a lot better than she does.

Arriving at the castle, they were immediately placed into two straight line and once the doors to the Great hall opened, hushed tones greeted them. Caelan could feel his cheeks burning in embarrassment, it was the first time that a lot of eyes are staring at him or better yet, at them. The line was stopped abruptly and the sorting began after an introduction from the Headmistress and a song from the hat. Caelan waited his turn while looking around, getting a glimpse of his cousin smiling at him. He gave her a faint smile instead, the boy doesn't want to be friends with Teagan, he wanted her place but it would be weird for some people that someone could hate their cousin. He'll pretend. As long as possible, as long as he can lie about his motive to her.

The Headmistress called out his name and slowly but cautiously, Caelan walked up to the stool and sat on. The hat was placed upon his head while the silent from the earlier travel came back again. I'm here to best out my cousin into everything. Put me in a house that has the ability to point me into greatness. Greediness has overcome him for a little bit but that wasn't him at all. Caelan just wanted to help his parents to noticed again into a society that they belong to. The young lad waited for an answer, he can't wait to start his plans ...

Alistair stood toward the back of the first year cluster, fidgeting unnecessarily with the collar of his shirt. Even within the Great Hall of Hogwarts Castle, packed with students, professors and the odd ghost, the boy had never felt more alone. His life had changed so drastically in the last several months, his expectations of joining his sister in Ilvermorny dashed as he was sent away from home, stuck in the unfamiliar environment of New Zealand. It wasn't fair. Merlin's beard, some boy had drowned here, and Esme always spoke poorly of the staff members. How was he supposed to cope in such a dangerous and perhaps somewhat dysfunctional school? He didn't know anyone, and he didn't know how to get to know anyone. He could only imagine these next seven years as what might be the most difficult time of his life, rather than one he should be enjoying.

"Lancaster, Alistair."

The familiarity of his aunt's voice was a much needed reassurance. He had almost forgotten Katherine was the Headmistress of this particular school. She wasn't as close with his family as she once was, but her presence was a welcome comfort. The boy's shoulder's dropped, relaxing slightly. He stepped out from the crowd, walking slowly up toward the podium where Katherine stood waiting, wondering exactly where he might be placed. Ilvermorny's system had sounded a lot easier in comparison to Hogwarts, and their houses were named after impressive creatures in America. What was a Hufflepuff? Why did Ravenclaw have an eagle for an icon instead of a raven? The thoughts raced through his mind as he sat down, and felt the Sorting Hat settle over his head.

"Who, not what. Your houses are patronized by the four of the greatest witches and wizards who ever existed - not common creatures - and the man who founded your house longed to ensure greatness followed his name: SLYTHERIN!"

As Matt stepped into the castle for the first time, his eyes widened. His cousins had not told him how magnificent it was, well maybe they had but Matt hadn't really paid attention. He refrained himself from gaping at the beautiful view. He could stay here forever, probably. Matt waited with the rest of the group, and he looked around analysing the new faces in case he could find someone to befriend. He smirked as he saw Sara, he was going to annoy her to no end. She'd hate him for it, that much he could guess. It wasn't long before they entered the great hall and his eyes immediately started to search for Amy and Dan. He waved as soon as he saw them. Soon, it was his turn to be sorted, after the wonderful song from the sorting hat, so Matt confidently made his way up to the stool and he felt the hat being placed into his head. He smiled, this was going to be great.

Candice felt butterflies in her stomach as soon a her name was called. She was dreaming of this moment since she was a little girl. This was going to be her home for seven years! You bet she was nervous! She flinched. She couldn't believe it, she was going to study in Hogwarts! All of the classes , friends and even romances she was going to find in this school is unbelieveable. But guess what? She walked towards the school and sat down without any trouble. All of the nervousness had vanished." Oh god, please sort me into a good house but not Hufflepuff. That house is too good for me. Gryffindor! Go sort me in Gryffindor!" she thought as the sorting hat was placed on head. She looked at the eleven year olds there were and she thought this is going to be the best journey.

"But you could do so well in Hufflepuff! Hmm... alright, since you seem so absolutely certain - GYRFFINDOR!"

The doors to the Great Hall opened slowly and those that were before her moved forward as if a great hand had pushed them. Minerva felt her entire insides curl inwards and she wanted to turn and find a quiet corner and hide from everything and everyone. The train had been bad enough, there had been no empty carriages and she had attempted to spend most of her time in the bathroom until the continual pounding on the door had hurt her ears so bad that she had sat there shaking and quivering, crying and wishing she was home. The sound had obviously traveled to the person on the other side of the door, who must have been a first year or had obviously been a first year once and understood partly what she must be going through.

Minerva didn't think anyone here at Hogwarts would have any idea what she was going through, every sound was magnified like brilliant noise. Groups of more than four made her physically ill and even though her parents had done social stories with her and role plays to calm her anxiety, it wasn't enough. At least she felt it wasn't enough.

The crowd surged forward and she stood still as if a weight held her there. She felt a nudge by a girl she had met briefly on the train who whispered to keep moving but Minerva couldn't. She was routed to the spot, it was already taking all her concentration not to turn around and run for the entrance door. A hovering ghost sidled beside her and smiled kindly telling her that she needed to get along inside before the doors closed. She blinked. She was the last one in the entrance hall and suddenly not feeling quite so apprehensive she stepped forward and forward some more until she was just inside the doors of the Great hall.

They shut behind her and suddenly her fingers were reaching up beneath her long hair to push the ear plugs a little deeper to muffle the noise that her parents had prepared her for. She stayed hidden behind everyone else, horrified that she could not hear what the woman that stood speaking at the top of the room said. Her eyes followed every student until it was her turn. She barely heard her name but as no one else was walking up she figured that she must have been called.

Slowly she made her way to the sorting hat and sat upon the stool as beads of sweat dampened the back of her neck.
'I just want to do well. I just want to obey the rules and do what I am told and graduate. That's all. I don't need friends. I don't need awards. I just need to get through this' her mind almost sobbed as her eyes squeezed shut and she chewed upon her lower lip to await the hat's judgement.

Jeremy walked through the Great Hall, he was excited to be at this castle. On his way in he had seen so many different places that he would be able to reach in order to get an aerial view of the Hogwarts Grounds and see plenty of things to discover. He smiled at the thought, and wondered what would happen if he actually got caught in the Forbidden Forest. He'd probably get in a lot of trouble, and while he didn't overly care, he wouldn't want to make a bad first impression on the staff. He watched his fellow first years be sorted into their houses, and then smiled when his name was called. Walking up to the stool, he was a little bit nervous, but the possibilities of exploration throughout the school quickly curved all of that. He grinned as the hat was placed over his head, and awaited his sentence for the next seven years of his life.

Sara breathed in deeply. She had just arrived to the castle with her new classmates. She had looked around and noticed both Geo and Elly, two girls she had met the past couple of months. She had enjoyed their company and hoped they'd become friends. When they entered the great hall, Sara had to stop herself from gasping out loud even though she knew that this reaction was completely acceptable and totally normal for first years to have the first time they enter the room. Her brothers and sister were far from her mind as she walked to the front and stopped. Soon, the sorting hat began to...sing. This day could not get any more exciting. It was incredible that she got to experience all of this, for an entire seven years. It was a long time, at least for her. Sara's gaze drifted to the stool and back to the woman who called out her name, before she slowly made her way up to her and took a seat. A million things were running through her mind from the moment the sorting hat was placed onto her head. There was nothing to do now except wait, the anticipation was getting to her now.

<SIZE size="50">Norton was a little concerned about how they would start their term at the new magical school he was to attend with Gilly. The boy was concerned because it had talked about a sorting process and four houses and he just didn't know to which he might belong. Nortie was concerned because he didn't really want to be separated from his sister, but it was likely that this could happen. Considering that they were sometimes different people, despite being twins they could be different, this hat would probably see that. Norton stood next to his twin as they listened to the hat sing, this was a little weird, but the candles were floating, and when he had pointed that out to Gilly, she had just shoved him away, with a small bitter comment about how lame it was, so he decided against saying something about the hat singing. Nortie was really enjoying it, but perhaps she wasn't. Once they were sorted then, he would tell her, he would talk to her about it, share his excitement in the magic, and really Norton was disappointed when the song ended finally. Norton wondered if the hat could do more than just sing and dance.

The first name was called, and Norton watched, very curiously as people were sorted, he looked as the first person walked over to the table and then the next one walked to the next one, he was fascinated by the process, the fact that the hat just knew every single time. He was loving it, his gaze was moving between the people being sorted to the professors, he couldn't believe all that he was seeing. He could see how it looking behind the table of professors, the candles and a fake sky above him. The boy was suddenly distracted when the Gilly was called up to be sorted, he couldn't believe that she was being sorted, he moved forward slightly and watched her, it didn't take too long and then then the hat called out where she was to be placed, Slytherin, now that he wasn't sure about. Would he be able to follow her to slytherin, she had always been maybe a little more ambitious. Nortie looked towards her walking to the slytherin table and flashed her his usual excited wide smile. Then his name was called, Gillespie, Norton. The boy stepped out and made his way to the stool, suddenly very nervous about this entire situation. He looked out over all the people and really couldn't believe that all of these people were magical. He was excited to meet the hat, to tell him how much he had enjoyed the song, how magical it was. He wondered where he might end up, with Gilly or without.

Jack shuffled his feet and tossed his scruffy hair out of his eyes. Maybe he should've let his mum cut it before he left for London. Another student went ahead of him. Or at least a bit of a trim. He'd lost count of how many other kids had been called. His stomach rumbled in protest of the light snack he'd managed on the Hogwarts Express. Mum had packed a nice bit of ham sandwich and crisps. Dad had slipped him a few coins to use on the train. But Jack couldn't bring himself to buy any of the sweets. Not with other kids talking about brooms. He knew he'd have a long time to save for one. Ah he was next. This was it!
He strode forward and swallowed nervously as it felt all eyes were upon him. He nearly tripped and grinned at himself before sitting on the stool and letting the ancient hat sit on his unruly head. It fell past his forehead and ears and partially blocked his vision of the house tables with all the eyes waiting on the hats announcement.

Annaleah Lycaster stood in the odd looking things that they called robes. Under those, she had adorned the attire that had been purchased per the required list. The young brunette might not have minded it so much if it wasn't a skirt. How was she supposed climb trees and explore things properly in a skirt? It was madness and her mother had lost her absolute marbles thinking that she was going to be okay with it. Nevertheless, here she stood. Dressed oddly and uncomfortably as she watched several of her new classmates go forward to be sorted. What exactly it was they were being sorted into she wasn't sure as of yet, but some people seemed to be pleased with what the tattered old hat was saying to them. Others looked mildly disappointed at the choice that was given to them. Annaleah just hoped that wherever that old scrap of material put her that she'd make a few friends who didn't mind camping trips and the like. She was a girl born into an adventurous home and those roots ran deep within every fiber of her being.

Being the curious little bird that she was, she'd asked around on the train ride in to see just exactly what the houses were supposed to mean. There was a secret part of her that hoped for Ravenclaw or maybe even Gryffindor, but she knew she didn't want to be in Slytherin. Those sounded like the kind of people who got into trouble and often. Something that the little eleven year old with bright blue eyes wasn't keen on. Hufflepuff didn't seem like such a bad option, but she wasn't sure how she felt about them being so soft around the edges. The closer it got to her turn she fidgeted only slightly. Not usually one to get nervous exactly, but this was a new environment with new people and new powers that she still wasn't sure about. Magic was the kind of thing you read about in books. Not something that was real. Even though she believed that here she stood...in her new home for the next seven years. A place that was renowned for it's magical education. It just didn't seem possible.

As her name was read, Annaleah Lycaster stepped forward to have the hat placed on her head. It smelled a little like dust and old leather which she found oddly comforting for some reason. With her face scrunched slightly the young brunette awaited her fate as the hat took it's time to find the right place for her.

Despite her nerves, Stella was mostly excited as she filed into the Great Hall amongst the mass of other first years. She tried to look around her for her brother but there was too much going on around her for her attention not to be distracted by something else. She waited eagerly as the Headmistress explained what they were to do and couldn't wait to try on that ancient hat. She was glad her last name wasn't too far into the alphabet so she wouldn't have to wait, but with all her impatience and so many students needing to be sorted, it still felt like forever to her. Finally her name was called and Stella felt a thrill run through her spine as she walked up to the stool and placed the hat over her head.

Benjamin looked around the hall for a familiar face, knowing that Hamish would be somewhere in the sea of green at the Slytherin table. He wasn't particularly tall, and Hamish wasn't incredibly eye-catching, so his search eventually failed and his eyes moved to find Clara instead. Being K in the alphabet, he had some time to search for the Hufflepuff. He eventually found her near the end of the Hufflepuff table, which was rather inconvenient to look at from the crowd he was currently standing in, though as time passed it began to trickle with students getting sorted into their respective houses. He wasn't sure how he'd go in this school, though he had enough family members that had gone to it to assume a measure of success - there was a habit of things going wrong, and Benjamin wasn't exactly one for failure.

The young boy stood motionless right up until his own name was called by the headmistress, which prompted him to straighten his new shirt and close the distance between himself and the Sorting Hat. Sitting stiffly on the stool, not liking it at all, Benjamin held on to the seat and tucked his feet around the legs to seek some stability</SIZE>

Arriving at Hogwarts for the first time felt surreal - she had hung off of Marisol's every word about the school and all the things she practiced there that although Camila hadn't thought she would be allowed to go she had dreamed of it. Often the girl wondered what it would be like to fly, brew potions and cast spells that did wonderful things but soon she wouldn't have to wonder. Following the other first years towards the Great Hall, Camila watched wide eyed as it all seemed more grandiose than she had expected but soon watched as students were sorted. One of the last names to be sorted, to be sure, would be her own so it allowed her mind to wander and wonder what her house would really be like because if the dining area was this amazing she could only imagine the sleeping quarters would be much more. She listened as the sorting hat seemed to tell off people for having attitude and took note not to think anything nasty just in case that would affect where she would be place. Luckily she was finally called upon to see which of the four houses she would belong to.

"Woods, Camila."

Perhaps if she hadn't heard of all the good that had come from being sorted, Camila would have been more nervous but her big sister had done a good job in placating her for the most part so the young Latina walked head up to the stool where some people had looked positively ill just to get a strange talking hat placed on their heads. Cammy was a little more self-assured than that and felt that she would be in Gryffindor with Marisol so if ever she was nervous she would have someone to tell her what to do and where to go. But for now it was just her looking into a sea of faces she didn't know. Please put me with my sister, she thought hopefully because she had overheard on the train that the hat had to listen to the wearer. It seemed strange and she wanted to know how a hat could have such a big impact but Camila was more focused on not missing what the hat said.

"If I put you with your sister, you wouldn't have an opportunity to figure out what it means to be you. RAVENCLAW!"

Elliot Murphy had been waiting for this day, ever since his parents told him that he was of magical blood all Elliot could think of was Hogwarts. But soon he would be sorted, just like his cousin four years ago. He stood in the middle of the action with all the other first years standing around him. He started looking around for the Slytherin table in the hope that he would catch a glimpse of his cousin. Elliot still could not believe that he was finally at Hogwarts after all this time, and that his new life was finally starting.

"Murphy, Elliot"

Hearing his name being called, Elliot almost forgot how to walk. He staggered forward, fixing his tie and straightening his robes all of a sudden being the center of attention. Elliot did not mind this, but, it was more than individual attention from multiple people than he had ever had before. Pulling himself together, he confidently walked the last stretch and lowered himself gently onto the stool, smiling brightly. Elliot closed his eyes and said nothing. His moment had arrived at last.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

A lot had happened during the months before Jackson started Hogwarts. His father had come back into the picture and suddenly had married his mother. Jackson's parents were back together but it still felt like his father was a stranger to him. He was almost glad to be starting school so he could get away from his parents and process everything that had happened. Jackson had kept to himself on the train to school so as he made his way into the Great hall tucked into the group of first years he didn't know a single one of them and he was OK with that. He wasn't the most social person and was perfectly comfortable being anonymous in the crowd. Once students began being called to the sorting hat it wasn't long before it was Jackson's turn. He had never given much thought to what house he would be in, he knew his mother had been in Gryffindor at her Hogwarts, and recently found out that his father had been in the same house and that had been where they met, but once he began to think about it, Jackson didn't feel like he belonged there. He made his way up to the stool and took a seat, he felt the hat on his head and took a sharp intake of breath. He was nervous, he wasn't sure quite how much impact his house would have, but he didn't want to end up in the wrong one.

Gabriella was nervous when she came out of bed in the morning. She was curious about Hogwarts, but also nervous of if she would do anything as her parents told her to do. It was hard being the oldest one, because her parents didn't wanted her to be a failure and she would be if she didn't do what they wanted. So that was a lot of pressure and Gabriella hoped her nerves would go away on her way to Hogwarts. After saying goodbye to her siblings and parents she stepped on the train to Hogwarts. Gabriel and Therese her cousins would attend Hogwarts as well this year, but Gabriella didn't saw them often. She lived in England and they in Sweden in her mothers country. She saw them in vacations but that was the only time she would and they had a better relationship with eachother than she had with them. It had to do with the fact that their parents were not always agreeing about things, and something that happend in the past. But Gabriella was fine with it, she was curious where they would belong as in which house they would be. She was pretty nervous for the sorting, because her dad could want her to be in Slytherin but perhaps that wasn't the way how the sorting hat would think of her. The blonde find herself in the Great Hall and it was really how they described it, huge and a lot of floating candles. She spotted her cousins Sofia and Beaubelle who were already at Hogwarts. Gabriella didn't want to be with Beaubelle because she was a little scary mouse and she wasn't happy when she was related with that and if people would know they were family. Gabriella was way different than her older cousin. But she didn't saw Beaubelle as her older cousin, she seemed more childish to her. When she waited for her name to be called she saw how some were happy and some weren't and she hoped she would walk away with a smile. She knew which house her father wanted for her and she hoped that was gonna happen. Otherwise she would be pretty nervous of going home again.

'' Davenport, Gabriella''

When she heard her name she sighted one time and walked to the front and let the hat placed on her head. Please don't put me in Ravenclaw with Beaubelle, I'm ashamed of her the blonde thought. And she waited for the sorting hat to say something with a pain in her stomach.

"You could do quite well in Ravenclaw! No matter, your keen awareness of how others perceive you make you very much a SLYTHERIN!"
