Dina Stood in the middle of a huge group of people. As her eyes scanned the room she soar only unfamiliar faces, she felt alone amongst the strangers. Dina's nerves got stronger as each name was called, Finally the name "Dina Darkfire" was called out through the hall. She made her way through the crowd and could feel her cheeks heat up, She took a deep breath before sitting down in front of the hat, then it got placed on her head. Dina looked back at all the strangers eyes steering at her it felt like forever before the hat spoke, but finally it made its decision...

"Your love for life and friends puts you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Robbie walked into the Great Hall, waiting, wondering, wanting too know what house he would be in, he hoped he would get Gryffindor, he had down some research about all the houses, and thought that one would be the best of them all. But Robbie had been wrong before, maybe he would be good in Hufflepuff, or even Ravenclaw, but he definitely did not want Slytherin. Robbie stood there, waiting for his name to be called, watching all the other kids get sorted into their houses, and wondering if they would share the same fate as himself.

"Masters, Robbie."

Robbie jumped as he heard his name being called, he slowly walked up too the Sorting Hat, and placed it on his head. Hello, Mr. Hat. It's a pleasure too have you on my head. Robbie thought, as everything went black around him, he couldn't see anything but the inside of the Sorting Hat, and he knew that he would soon have an answer to his question, so he sat there; waiting too be sorted.

"Gryffindor? No. Not you're not a lion. I agree, however, that you will be good in HUFFLEPUFF!"

'Summers, Alyss!' Was heard through the Great Hall, and everyone turned to stare at the eleven year old girl that was sauntering down the gap between the students towards the Sorting Hat. Her green stilettos clacked against the floor, her mini dress flowing behind her. Even though she was supposed to wear the robes, she didn't at the moment. They were definitely unfashionable, and she'd wear them when she had to when classes started. She blew a kiss at one of the boys staring at her and smirked at him. Everyone wanted her of course.

When she reached the stool where the Sorting hat was, she sighed and sat on the stool, tucking her dress under her. As the hat was placed on her head she wrinkled her nose slightly and noticed that it was darker than she expected under there. Everyone could see her, but she couldn't see any of them. 'Hat, please just place me where I belong and get this over with.' She thought at it.

"'Please,' eh? How very uncharacteristic of you. I hate to break this to you, but everybody doesn't 'want you.' Also, you're going to have to wear school robes regardless of what you feel the fashion is - you're hear to learn to be a proper witch, not how to follow fashion trends. If you're that interested in fashion, I'm sure a muggle academy could accommodate you. Now, where were we? Ah yes. SLYTHERIN!"

James entered the Great Hall with the rest of his fellow first years. He hated that he didn't seem to know anyone whereas others were talking away to their friends. Having only just arrived from Scotland he hadn't been able to meet anyone and becomes friends before the school year started but he figured he'd have loads of time to catch up with people, these were going to be his classmates for the next seven years afterall. Lining up the center of the Great Hall he stood and listened to the Headmaster talk and not too long after the Sorting Hat. He listened to his infamous words, excitement swelling up inside of him. The sorting of the new students began and James was buzzing with excitement as the Headmaster went down through the names, slowly but surely reaching the 'M's.

MacMillian, James

James heard his name being called out and he qucikly made his way to the front of the line and sitting on the three leged stool. He had waited for this moment for so long and now that he was finally here he couldn't be happier. As the Hat made his choice James kept his eyes on the Gryffindor table. He honestly didn't mind where the Sorting Hat placed him, it knew best afterall, but there was a part of James that wanted so badly to be in Gryffindor. Most of his family had been in Gryffindor and even though there was no pressure on him to hold any sort of family tradition, he would like to be there. James sat patiently and awaited his judgement.

"Alright, alright. You're a GRYFFINDOR!"

Zeke followed the other first years into the hall. He was shaking with nerves, wondering what he would have to do.
It was many minutes before he heard his name called; "Smith, Ezekiel."
Shaking still, Zeke walked to the front of the hall, sitting down upon the stall, the hat placed on his head.
"Please get this over with.." he breathed to the hat.
He had seen what happened with the other students so he knew what to expect- The hat would speak to him.
There was a pause before Zeke heard the words he would remember his whole life..

"Calm down. Nothing to be nervous about, really. Your future is set in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Kaede stood up as her name was called. About time, she thought to herself, even though she was one of the first to be called, with a surname beginning with 'a'.

'Alohilani, Haede.'

Haede made her way cunningly up to the stool. Put me where you like, she grinned to herself. The hat was placed on her head and all she could think was, please, Slytherin.

"Yes, yes. SLYTHERIN!"

Belle walked with her brother, and stared back as a number of faces looked at her. She was nervous, but put on a brave face. As they walked up the center isle of the great hall, Belle had to put an even bigger mask of armour round her. With her brother beside her, she wondered why she was always picked to go first, even though he was older. She made her way up the stone steps, and took a seat on the stool. It was a strange sensation as the hat was put on her head, and it began to speak. It wasn't how she imagined. She gave the crowd a small smile, and waiting to see where she would be placed.

"I see you want Gryffindor? Are you quite sure? I can see you with many friends in Hufflepuff. Alright, I suppose you should have it your way. GRYFFINDOR!"

Jake walked up with his sister, keeping a smile on his face. He was looking forward to being sorted, and hoped they would make the same house. He nodded to the other first years, who seemed equally nervous.
When they walked in, he was suprized at how many people occupied the great hall. He waited for his name to be called out, before going to sit on the seat. Same as bella. same as bella he chanted in his head after watching her smile and run off to her new house.

"Same as Bella? No. You're quite similar, I see that, but I think you'd do better elsewhere. A little time away from your sister. No? Alright then. As you wish: GRYFFINDOR!"

Briony entered the Great Hall with the line of future first years. Her hands trembled horribly, and her legs were shaky. It seemed entirely unfair for her to have to go through this, but this was the way it went for years. She was happy not to be alone though. It would have been a nightmare if she had to go up to the sorting hat, with no one else having done it first. In actuality, she had had that dream the night before.

"Get a grip." She muttered to herself. Someone turned to look at her, their expression had the look of, Shut up.
She frowned and shook her head, willing them to turn around. She wanted attention, but definitely not negative attention. The guidelines were being read about now, but Briony could barely hear amongst all the chatter. She doubted she'd be able to listen at all seeing as her ears were frightened as well as she was.
The sorting had sang a song about honor, cunning, friendship, and intellect but it was all a blur. Everything was moving so fast, and now they were calling out the names.
"Slow down... slow down.." She muttered. And soon her name was called. Briony walked slowly to the stool and sat down, willing for this to go as fast as the events leading up to it did. Naturally, it slowed down.

"Go join your house in RAVENCLAW!"

Milena was new to Hogwarts and was ready to have fun. She entered the great hall and saw some unsorted students and some transferees like her. She walked forward, her chin was up and ready to go. Some unsorted students stared at her poise and beauty but Milena looked sharply and just gave them a grin. She heard a voice calling her "La Fleur, Milena", she immediately went in front and sat on a chair a the sorting hat was placed on his head. She wished to be on the right house and do her thing.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Genevieve was standing among the small crowd of first years. Her red hair and pale skin made her stand out from the crowd. She felt disgusted and suffocated among the students.I will die if I have to stand among these mud-bloods any longer she thought disgusted as she glanced around herself.Even though she didn't know who was muggle-born and who was not,she felt like they were all filthy,dim-witted morons. She just wanted the sorting to end quickly.

She was not nervous like everyone else. She was confident that she would be sorted into Slytherin. Her father had given her an advice. If the sorting hat did not think that she belonged in Slytherin, she just had to think up the most gruesome ways to destroy the hat and it would change its mind. And if it doesn't,I think I will really try those ways! she thought.

"Grim,Genevieve."the Professor called out. Finally!she thought. She felt that she should tell the professor that she had pronounced her name wrongly. But when she was walking down the aisle she thought that it would be a waist of breath because her name was very unique and over the time she would spend here, the professor would learn it eventually.

She sat down on the little stool and the professor placed the hat on her head.It sank right down to her ears."EW!"she mumbled silently so that only the hat would hear. This hat is so dirty! And old!I wonder how I will ever be able to get it's dirt off my hair! she thought, her face holding a disgusted expression. She wondered how she could stop from thinking about ways to get rid of such a dirty thing.Filthy, filthy, filthy!, she though as she waited for the sorting hat to decide.

"I am not filthy, you fool. Children these days and their ignorance. Well, maybe you're not all ignorance. You seem to have a few brains in you. Perhaps they just need to be molded out more. Yes, let's give your brains some attention in the next seven years. RAVENCLAW!"

Tabitha stood somewhere in the middle of the first years. The crowd was slowly beginning to thin out but she was getting impatient. The other kids were getting unnecessarily excited about the whole ordeal. She hadn't a clue which house she was going to be in, but it would probably disappoint her parents somehow. She didn't even look around much since she had heard its description from her brother and parents too much.
"Viridian, Tabitha"

Tabitha started, coming out of her reverie. Boldly, she began to walk forward, her eyes glued to the Sorting Hat. She sat down on the stool and the hat was placed on her head, slipping so low that she could just about see the Great Hall. She waited in the uncomfortable silence thinking,'Not Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. They're both ridiculous.'

"Every house is ridiculous if you really think on it. But, regardless, you're a SLYTHERIN!"
