Lillie was in line for the sorting hat, she was so excited! Yet, at the same time nervous! where will I be sorted? then thoe sorting hat called out my name! "Lillie Granger"! she walked up her heart beating in time with her excited breaths......

When the First years arrived at the Great Hall, Gianna was feeling Excited and Jumpy. Her mother had told her all about the sorting hat and how it sorted the students into their houses. She was feeling nervous and excited at the same time. When her name was called, she immediately jumped out of her seat and walked nervously to the sorting hat.

"I can see a very warm welcome for you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Anika breathed in heavily, her cane moving side ways like a metronome, making sure she got every step in the castle. Being her first day at Hogwarts, made her heart flutter, as she heard the chatter of the students, and there footsteps on the hard stone. All these sounds she would never think she'd live to hear. She was so excited. Reaching the landing on the last set of stairs, she beamed, expressing her joy even more, as the teacher spoke. Just to think she was this close to getting near the feast, and this close to being seated with all these young witches and wizards, she wriggled in place, with delight, stiffling an excited squeal. They entered the hall, and the young fourteen year old got a large amount of air through her lungs, the chatter, and clicking of drinking goblets, filled her ears. She wished she could see the marvel that the children 'awe'd' about. Just smelling it was beautiful. She knew, that this was the moment she was going to get sorted into a house. Gryffindor, Gryffindor, Gryffindor. She thought repetatively to herself. Her oxygen caught in her throat as silence fell, and the teacher spoke about the sorting hat. The sorting hat gave a poem, and she listened to every word, and even memorised it to keep it in her mind. Anika sighed quietly, bracing herself for her name to be called out. Her name was the sixth name to be called out, and as she heard it fear and excitement pulsed through her chest instantly, and she was afraid of faling over or something. The teacher, thankfully grabbed her arm tightly, and lay a hand on her shoulder, Anika's cane folded up, symbolising that these were her first steps to being on her own from now on. The teacher helped her sit on the stool, everyone was silent around her. More fear pulsed through her as her head became heavier, as the brim of the hat surrounded her head, the small tails on either side resting on her shoulders.

"You desire Gryffindor? Well, you might do well there. Yes, you are quite brave, aren't you? But yet - your wisdom shines through for me. That's it. RAVENCLAW!"

Snow Blaze stood motionless in the great hall. She looked around, studying other students who would also be sorted today. She sighed and wondered why she's in this place right now. She wanted to stay in their house and practice her violin. She wanted to finish reading Sepulchre in her quiet room! But she doesn't really have a choice, does she? Her parents wanted her to come since "Hogwarts is an interesting school". And so she's here. It was just a few moments before her name was finally called. She stepped forward and looked at the Sorting Hat. Now, it begins.

"Oh, you'll find your fill of knowledge at Hogwarts - don't worry your little head. You'll find all that, and more, in RAVENCLAW!"

Liam followed the other soon-to-be first years out into the Entrance Hall of Hogwarts, it was magnificent, floating candles that made the dark castle look friendly, he looked over to his left and thought he saw one of his new friends but soon was pushed aside by another eager face and lost track of the person. He continued into the Great Hall and glanced at all the students sitting at the tables, swallowing nervously he stood in silence. Finally, when his name had been called he walked up to the small stool and took a seat. His eyes were soon clouded by a brim of a very large hat for his head, and he could hear talking around inside his head, although it wasn't his own voice.. He was sure he was going to burst being so nervous, when he suddenly heard the words..

"Yes, yes. Very nice. I see. Well, given your present state of mind I should think you'll do quite magically in GRYFFINDOR!"

Lianne was a lined with the other unsorted members she wished that Camille and Patricia were here with her but they went at the back of the line. Gian and Allen were just beside her,While waiting her name to come out her feelings were so happy and sad but right in her heart was bravery...Then her happiness stoped and so did her saddness just then a voice she heard was "Noble,Lianne" she came forward quietly and sat down on the chair.....Hoping what House she would be in....

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Amelia had had a long trip on the train. It was only having a few like-minded individuals there that made the trip even slightly bearable. Upon arriving in the great hall, Amelia had to sit down again, not knowing what sort of 'test' they would have to complete. She and Maddison gossiped in whispers about Alice's awful hairstyle, until Maddison's name was called. Amelia nudged Maddison to get her to move, and smiled at hearing that she was a Slytherin. Amelia waited impatiently for her name, and almost missed it. "Andrews, Amelia!" She rushed up, holding the hat slightly over her head so as to not ruin the hair. Listen you old piece of junk, get this over with quickly, okay? Put me with the snakes and no-one will get hurt. she thought menacingly. She waited confidently for a reply, eyes scanning the Great Hall, sussing out the fashion-worthy.

"Get hurt? I would enjoy knowing how you think you'll hurt me or anybody else here without first being entirely immobilized by one of the numerous fully trained wizards and witches in the hall. You're a lot of talk, little girl, and I've been fed up with talk this evening. No, you won't be 'with the snakes', as you so coarsely put it. Underneath this façade you care for hard work and know that will bring you to your goals. You're a HUFFLEPUFF!"

After leaving the hogwarts express Briar watched as she castle loomed up menacingly before her. this brought a wave of anxiety to her stomach. swallowing she forced it away and looked around the grounds glad that there was a forest which may house centaurs inside the grounds.
she walked inside the large front doors and saw the size of the room. it took her breath away. she was clad that they were so big it made it feel more open. after a fiew minutes, once a lot of other older students had enteded the next set of doors to her left. then a man cme out of those doors and gestured to the first yeas to follow him.
they all walked through into the next room and briar looked around above her the ceiling perfectly reflected the night sky showing stars and planets. this caused her to relax slightly. however when they stopped she could feel every eye on her. she wanted to run away and never come back but two things stopped her firstly she had come this far and she may as well see it through till the end or at least until the end of the feast it seemed they would soon be having. and secondly more people had entered behind her and she physically couldn't get out even if she wanted to.
She watched as people were called up to try on a hat which shouted out the names of each of the houses. one most of the people had taken the seats at one of the four long tables she heard a familiar name being called out "rowan, Briar". slowly she walked up to the hat and placed it on her head. she waited while it made its decision not too bothered about where she ended up. just do what you have to and place me where i belong she though. hopping that it was where she wanted to be.

"You've had quite a life of bravery already, so I think you'll do some good in GRYFFINDOR!"

Since Rosemarie's last name started with a W, it was a long time to wait in the hall. She smiled and nodded slightly to her friends as they got sorted ahead of her. Finally, after what seemed like forever the teacher called out "Rosemarie Wilkinson!" Rosemarie walked up slowly, her cloak swishing behind her, and the others moving out of her way. Good, they knew who to fear then. She placed the dirty, disgusting hat on her head and waited impatiently for the Sorting hat's decision.

"You seem to desire Slytherin, but out of fear. You needn't fear anybody. No, I won't put you in Slytherin for your father's sake. Sorting is about you. You will do well in.... RAVENCLAW!"

Lea entered the Great Hall, as the procession started. She heard others names called and watched as they were sorted by the hat. She prayed that they would all be in the house they hoped for. "Yellowstone, Lea" was called into the crowd. Lea made ger way to the front of the hall and placed the hat on her head and waited for her fate to be decided.

"Your kind nature places you well in HUFFLEPUFF!"

With her toes twinkling as she rocked back and forth on her heels, Dinah began to hug her elbows to her chest and shiver. Why on earth do they have to start school when it was so bloody cold? she complained inwardly, trying to rub her hands together fruitlessly through her gloves. True, she was nervous as hell, so the jittering was mostly her tension getting the best of her, but in the end she'd simply get sorted into whatever house was hers and be done with it. Dinah eyed the food at the tables longingly and was forced to tear her eyes away. The food was only just forming, and the students already seated were either chatting amongst themselves, staring half-heartedly at those being sorted or eying the progress of the food slowly materialising in the bowls. Dinah was doing the latter, even though she was supposed to be choosing a house inwardly. Isn't that what the other first years were doing? One particularly nervous boy in front of her was openly chanting "Hufflepuff, Hufflepuff, please be Hufflepuff." Dinah wrinkled her nose. Hufflepuff? Well, it wasn't her place to judge.

"Jamison, Dinah!"
Aw man. Why did I have to be a 'J', why?

Dinah took a deep breath and skipped up the steps towards the steps. As she did, she took a furtive glance around the room and eyed the different tables. Every single one was quite lively, so there was no way she could choose by the level of activity. She rather liked the red and gold banners above Gryffindor House. She simply hated green, and Hufflepuff was looking rather fancy in yellow and black. Dinah loved yellow and red. Warm colours were her forte; it reminded her of the hot sun, beautiful summer days and ... a biting wind that swept through the hallway. Urgh... thought Dinah, hugging her enormous white jacket around her shoulders and shivering. No one else seemed to be as cold as she was. In fact, everyone looked toasty warm. Perhaps she was just sensitive. Her musings took all of ten seconds as she finally reached the sorting hat, who was looking rather humble on the rickety wooden stool. "Right." With gentle fingers, she reached out to place the hat carefully onto her head as a sign of respect. As it slipped over her eyes, Dinah wasted no time in a greeting. Gosh, it's cold today isn't it? Do hat's get cold? I rather hope not. They could give you a scarf, I suppose. Alright. Where should I be? she 'said' in a jolly fashion. Moments later, the split in the hat opened and spoke.

"Fortunately for you, I don't just base my judgments on colour preferences. Also fortunately for you - you just so happen to be best suited for GRYFFINDOR!"

Laura had been seperated from Isobel in the rush off of the train. She didn't spot Isobel until her name was called, and frowned at hearing that her sister was a Slytherin. So this is what she meant by the 'best house'. Mami and Papi will be so angry, she sighed. Laura's name came next. She sat on the stool and put on the hat. Ravenclaw, Ravenclaw, please. Laura didn't want to be as big a disappointment as Isobel would be. She hoped that the hat had a heart.

"Ravenclaw? But you'd do so well in Hufflepuff! Fine then. Yes, I can see that. RAVENCLAW!"

A young maiden walks across the hall looking kinda scared with excitement on her face. She saw a line of students waiting to be sorted and as she walked closer to line, she heard her a voice coming from a old man calling her name."Ying,Sui Chin please come forward to be sorted." With out hesitation she went in front, all eyes on her. She sat on a three legged chair. Anxious for the Hat to be placed above her head and for her to be sorted. She closed her eyes, smiled and hoped for the best without any expectation in her mind to be in her proper House.

"You will do splendidly in GRYFFINDOR!"

Ginerva, Gin to her friends, walked into the hall with the other first years. She gasped in awe at the sight of it, she waited for her turn and clapped politely as others had their turn. Finally it was her turn. "Moon, Ginerva," she walked up to the hat calmly and took in the sight of the other students watching her, she gulped she hated being in the spotlight. 'Let's get over with please,' she thought.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Sinhella stood at the end of her toes, for she was to short to see those who were a lot taller than the petite blonde haired girl, she nearly was tipping over trying to catch a perfect balance. It didn't help that she was wearing a heavily set of robes, that basically made her close to sliding to the ground, luckily she manage still having a good view of the sorting. The robes had reminded her of Liam, were was he? She remembered the day she had ran into him while shopping, her light blue eyes would gaze around looking for his familiar face, and those she had already met from before. It didn't take long till her gaze focus on the chestnut locks of Liam, as he sat down to get sorted in probably one of the favorite house in Hogwarts. She clapped and cheer for her friend, and hope he would notice her as she waited to be called.

"LeMour, Sinhella!" Sin looked up, her lips parted as she walked forward, a bit nervous but courageous as she took her time to finally sit down as the sorted hat is placed on her blonde silky hair. Closing her eyes, Sin would count trying not to think or panic. She didn't want to be in Slythrein, but Guardian would get mad if she wasn't, oh no the hats know. She tried to count again to distract it probably in anyway she could, any house but Slytherin. "Please not Slytherin!" she nearly shouted.

"No, definitely not Slytherin. Your interest in academic points you to RAVENCLAW!"

Elspeth walked through the doors into the Great Hall, to see all the students staring at the terrified group of children. She forced a smile onto her terrified face and waved cheerily. As she waited for her name to be called, she scanned four tables, trying to decide which one she would prefer. She had always thought she would like being in Ravenclaw, but her Mum wanted her to be in Gryffindor. As there didn't seem to be any difference between the tables, she turned to look at the staff. The new headmaster looked strict, but as she wasn't planning on getting in trouble, she didn't see how that would affect her. "Brookes, Elspeth." Her legs turned to jelly, and as she started to mount the stairs, she tripped. As the audience started to giggle, she turned and did an exaggerated bow. All her fear evaporated, and she skipped up the steps and sat on the stool. Please be Ravenclaw, or, well, whatever is best for me. She thought as the hat was lowered onto her head.

Savana walked into the great hall, for the first time ever, like her other class-mates her mouth fell open in awe as she took in her sorroundings. she made her way to the front of the hall, trying desperatly to avoid the stares of the older student, whom tried to measure the 'new bunch' up. Once they made there way to the front, and everyone stopped jossling around, Savana lifted her head shyly, glancing at her new teachers. As the names began to be called, and the students were sorted, Savana Blake soon began to realise how close she was to sitting on the age old stool and being one of the hundreds that walk the halls of hogwarts.
"Blake, Savana" was voiced from the prim-looking woman with her long parchment.
Savana suddenly felt all her nerves bundle together, as she took her steps up the stairs, tripping slightly on the way, enciting a snicker from some students. As she finally sat on the stool, and felt the weight of the hat on her head, she was quivering with her nervousness, when a cool, old wisened voice was heard in her head.

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

Eliza Beth was EXTREMELY nervous. She had only just found out about Hogwarts and she didn't know any thing about sorting. She stood with the other uncertain firstyears, feeling self conscious in her second hand clothing she waiting what seemed like hours to the man in front of her called her name, Stewart, Eliza Beth. Trembling slightly she advanced towards the hat. She wanted to get this over quickly. Wishing for the best the hat slipped over her eyes and into darkness.

"Hmm. A little self-conscious, are you? Well then - in RAVENCLAW they'll only care for your mind. ;) "

Joe wandered into the great hall unsure of what was ahead of him. He looked around at everyone else reaction to the strange experience. He wasn't paying attention and as he heard his name be called, it made him jump. 'Walker Joe.' Joe took a glance at the teacher who had called his name, and then made his way up the stairs towards the hat. He was now face-to-face with the hat, but couldn't bear to look at it any longer, so took a seat. Joe looked up at the hat above him with his eyes. "Please, just get this over and done with...just tell me." Joe whispered nervously.

"You're quite brave. Yes, Gryffindor would like you just fine. However, your caring nature places you in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Tom walked into the great hall with his head held high glad that he was now going to be sorted.None of his nerves had yet kicked in and he didn't think that they would, not even at the time of his reckoning. he walked up the center isle towards the front of the hall.he looked around at all of the older students thinking about what they all would think of the new lot. As he approached the front with all the other unsorted to where they were to sit whilst awaiting their turn.he watched after person on person approached the stool at the front and were sorted. T hen he heard his name being called he looked around in disbelief that it was his turn the slowly started to quicken his pace towards the front all eyes were on him yet all he was thinking about was what he was gooing to do when he knew what house he was in.He sat on the stool and had the hat placed on to his head it sank down over hs eyes. Now all he coulld think about was what the decision would be.He sat and hoped that he would be a slytherin as he wsa evil and ready to prank anyone who said anything against him.

"I wouldn't say you're evil. Do truly evil people ever recognize that they're evil? No. I would, however, agree that you're ambitious. SLYTHERIN!"

Angelica felt nervous as they await to be sorted. She already had her eyes roam the entire place. Waiting patiently, one by one students are calle to be sorted. Angelica could not tell how a tattered hat tell a kid's future. Then she heard her name called, with a nervous smile on her face she walked up to the stool and sat and put the hat on...silence came
then things started to run through Angelica's mind...are her parents ok? Are they missing her?..then she heard the sorting hat's voice....

"You're a tough nut to crack. Well, I'll have to go with GRYFFINDOR!"

Frances was walking with the other unsorted students in the aisle of the great hall, she was not that nervous as she knew where the hat should Frances put. She's not looking in front where the staff table's are, she's looking at the people who wears green robe. The group stop abruptly inches from the stage and Frances almost hit the person in front of her, I should make my walking with breaks she thought and started to listen at the man who might be the Headmaster. As the man called the names in alphabetical order, she can't get to excited. This might be turn ugly but she can do it, as the 'U's' are finished calling it was Frances who was called and some on the crowd of students started to whisper. They might have recognize me her mom said to just keep her last name and that was she just did, after calling her name Frances went at the stage and seated at the tall stool, sitting there is like the time is slowing.

Frances felt that the hat is wore on her head, she wrinkled her nose at the smell of it. This hat should be cleaned ... or even sew a little. But let's cut to the chase ... Mr. Hat ... I am here to learn so any house will do, but don't gave me the wrong one or I'll burn you down. she thought talking with the hat at the same time. Frances keep her smile as she just waited for the hat's decision.

"A muggle born, hmm? And already with the threats? Well, Salazar might not approve of this decision but so be it: SLYTHERIN!"

Wisteria is a really nice girl but she really can't let her emotions out. Wisteria just keeps everything inside her heart or she just tries to forget everything to make her self feel comfortable. There was a time that she and her friends got into a misunderstanding that made her cry but she tried to remain strong. There was a time that she was removed from the honor's list and she got hurt but still she tried to stay who she is for she knows she can't change anything anymore even though it was really hurting her inside.Everybody was expecting the best from her and well she kind of let them down but she pretended not to care. She just puts all her emotions in her poems. But there came a day that she really can't take her emotions that she broke down and cried. That day, everything happened all at once. An evil professor and an evil witch combined all their powers to break everybody's hearts. First, the evil witch said something really bad to Wisteria and her friends. deep inside wisteria she was raging and so she stood up to the witch. It was a really hard debate for Wisteria because the evil witch was also a teacher in their school but she said somethings and made the evil witch to keep quiet. The evil professor tried Wisteria for she knew what happened between the evil witch and wisteria. The evil professor was a harder target because she did not want to face wisteria in the oral battle and it took wisteria a long time to think about a strategy then she suddenly thought of something. She asked for her friends to help. Her plan went like this, She would set the evil professor up to talk to her and after that, she would explain in a way the evil professor would understand how Wisteria felt when she was ignored. Then it worked! it turned out hat the evil professor was not really an evil one. She thought that she was teaching everyone a lesson but the truth was she was hurting the feelings of others. days passed and people saw the change in the evil professor. Then another obstacle came up to her after showing the change in the evil professor. It was the time for sorting. she was really scared because she just showed how she targets on different professors but she'll just go with the flow and whatever happens will just happen.... now she's having a deep breath waiting for the time and she'll just accept what happens

As Ruby walked into the hall with the other first years, she looked around at the other students in the hall with a satisfied smile. She was here at last, at Hogwarts. Time to shine.

As Ruby took her place in line at the top of the hall, her thoughts strayed to her sister. Ruby was Muggle-born, and was 8 years old when they found out that her sister, Rachel, was a witch. She went to Hogwarts in Britian, and was top of her class in everything.
Ruby and Rachel had never got on well with eachother, as Rachel was very controlling and would always go straight to their parents if Ruby put as much as a toe out of line. So when Rachel went off to Hogwarts, Ruby bought a large pile of magic books and read them cover-to-cover, determined that when she went to Hogwarts, she would outshine her perfect sister. She was determined that she would become more powerful thant Rachel could possibly imagine.

As she watched the other first years being sorted into their houses, Ruby did not feel nervous. Excited, maybe, but there was no fear in her. Wherever she was placed, she knew she would still shine. With brains like hers, how could she not?

"Smith, Ruby!"

As she heard a voice call her name, a surge of excitement fizzed through Ruby. It was time! With an excited grin on her face, she stepped forward and took her place on the stool. She placed the ancient hat on her head and held her breathe, waiting for an answer.

"Your ambition to learn magic places you in SLYTHERIN!"

Keira sat nervously at the table. She was only nervous because she didn't want to get put in the wrong house. As her name was called, she took a deep breath in. No way would she behave at the school if the hat put her in slytherin.
Keira sat down slowly as the hat was placed on her head. She imagined it was a crown until it talked, making her jump but not noticably to others. She looked across to see her friends smiling at her. Please let me be in Ravenclaw! She thought to herself, closing her eyes. The sorting hat began to speak, and Keira secretly had her fingers crossed behind her back. 'Ravenclaw.' She whispered to herself willingly.

"Ravenclaw? But you'd do so well in Gryffindor! Well then, if you're entirely sure. Yes, I suppose it can be RAVENCLAW!"
