The Sorting Ceremony Y34

Sebastian had waited for this day for so long now. It felt almost unreal that he was finally here. At long last, he was at Hogwarts, the family would be together again, and he would finally get to learn magic. He’s dreamed desperately of exploring the hidden hallways and secret staircases of Hogwarts, of playing in the Forbidden Forest along with his siblings. And now, at last, he could. And yet . . . there was so much he was leaving behind, too. Their D&D game had fallen apart last year, and that had hurt him terribly, but he would still miss the Fletchers so much - especially Lucas, who had wanted to come to Hogwarts too, who had dreamed of magic and broken Seb’s heart because he could never tell him it was real. Trying to distract himself from those thoughts, Sebastian looked around the hall; it was just as grand as Maddy and Wills had told him, and the stars visible overhead were mesmerising. It was just like something in one of his stories, Maddy had said, and it made him smile that she’d thought he could dream up something like this. He scanned the tables, looking for her and Wills, not quite brave enough to wave when he spotted them.

And then, at last, his name was called. Sebastian’s legs felt weak as he stepped forward out of the crowd of first years and walked up to the front of the hall alone. Everyone’s eyes were on him, and all his fears came swirling back. There was a solitary whoop - from Maddy, he assumed - as he shakily sat on the stool, and then the hat went over his eyes and he was alone in the dark with his thoughts. Oh, how he wanted to be with one of his siblings, to be safe, but already he suspected he wouldn’t. He feared he wasn’t good enough for any of the houses: not brave enough for Gryffindor, not cunning enough for Slytherin, not smart enough for Ravenclaw or friendly enough for Hufflepuff. He tried to breathe, tried to calm himself. It would be okay, really it would. He had to believe that.

"I've never failed to find a house for someone yet, and I won't fail here. You're good at thinking up stories, but learning for the sake of it isn't your true focus. You're adventurous, sure, but not a Gryffindor, I'm afraid. No, you'll find your home in... Hufflepuff!"

It was finally her time to go to Hogwarts and she couldn't be more excited about it. Her parents used to tell her about their years at the school and how much they each had learnt from their peers that it made her hope that she would have just as wonderful of a time as them. A smile spread across the girl's face as she entered the Great Hall alongside the other first-year students. It was the first time she ever set foot in the enormous room but it already felt like she belonged here. Away from her attention-seeking sister at last, well at least until Piper would decide where to go to herself. Paige watched the transparent figured floating around and grinned. She heard about a poltergeist living at Hogwarts and for some reason couldn't wait to find out more about the ghost and the mischief it was usually up to. She followed the others to the front of the hall where a woman stood next to a stool and old hat which she knew was the hat who'd place all of them in their houses. She thought that the Headmistress' speech was interesting, and for a brief moment wondered if she should try to enter the forbidden forest even though she had just been told not to do so - surely it wouldn't be that bad if it was on school grounds.

Whilst the ceremony started, Paige decided to turn her attention once again to the Great Hall until the Headmistress would reach the T. She turned back around to watch the ceremony happen when she heard her cousin's name being called out by the woman, and eagerly straightened herself because she knew her own name would be next on the parchment. While she liked her cousin enough to hang around with her during family outings, Paige did not want to be sorted into the same house as her. She would have to hear about it non-stop at reunions which was just the thing she was trying to avoid by not going to Durmstrang like her brother. She smiled at her cousin as she walked past her towards the Gryffindor table and immediately turned back to the woman in front of them as her name was called out. It all depended on this very moment. She'd finally make her parents proud. Paige sat down on the stool and glanced over towards the four long tables as the Hat was placed upon her head.

"Slytherin!"

Walking into the Great Hall made Lauden feel a little anxious. With Andy no longer attending, Lauden was alone without his siblings. But he had a cousin he had never met attending too. But he was be sorted first because of his name. He waited patiently until he could see the cousin. It was hard not to tell them apart from others with that stone like appearance. He wondered if he would be in Hufflepuff like his mom, or Slytherin like his dad. He doubted that he had a Slytherin bone in his body. He eventually heard his name. He walked up and sat down on the stool. He gave a weak smile to the audience as the hat came down. He closed his eyes and waited.

"Ravenclaw!"

Elizabeth could not believe she was here, she had been waiting for this day to come ever since she was accepted to a magical school called Hogwarts. It was a shock to her and her parents but looking back it would certainly explain a lot of things that were going on, now there's an explanation to it all.

Smith, Elizabeth

Elizabeth almost didn't hear her name being called as she was too busy looking around the room in shock, luckily she snapped out of it before people got too irritated at her for keeping the other kids waiting too long to be sorted themselves. She nervously walked to the stool and sat down 'Ok, now what?' She thought as the hat was placed on her head

"Now you let me get to work, though it won't be much work for you. It's obvious that you belong in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Louise Romanes entered the Great Hall while grinning weakly. He was so glad to be away from his dad so that he could build his own dream. Louise looked at the houses. His mom was a Gryffindor and his dad was a Ravenclaw. But, his family had everyone in every house. There wasn’t a house where one stood out. So, he doesn’t know where he would go. He did not really care either way. He watched as students were sorted, and frowned, knowing that it would be a while before he would be sorted. After what felt like an eternity, it was finally his turn. He walked up to the stool and sat down. He remembered that the Snow family had more Slytherins than anything

"Gryffindor!"

Spencer had been looking forward to, and dreading this day all summer. He had always dreamed of going to school, and getting to learn everything that he could, but it also meant having to be away from everything and everyone he had grown up with. Well not quite everyone. His cousins, and best friends, we're standing right beside him in the large crowd of first years. The young boy was clinging with Eleanora's hand for dear life, terrified that if he let go he would somehow get swallowed into the crowd. The twins would almost definitely be sorted into Gryffindor, he thought, but there was no chance of that house for him. He was too much of a scardy cat for that house. His stomach twisted painfully from anxiety, and embarrassment as Ellie and Lysander started calling out for their father who was at the front of the room. She could have at least dropped his hand before waving it around wildly like that!

Spencer couldn't even focus on the headmistress or the sorting hat's words as he kept replaying the embarrassing scene that had just happened in his mind. Even worse soon he would have to go in front of this large crowd of people, and be judged in front of all of them. And classes hadn't even started yet. All too soon names were being called, and with his last name he would be relatively close to the front of the line. When it came his turn he hesitated before Eleanora broke his thought process, and pushed him towards the front of the crowd. Holding his breath the young boy made his way to the front, and sat on the wooden stool. Mercifully the hat was placed on his head quickly, and he didn't have to look into the crowd for too long.

"Ravenclaw!"

Migui chaotic entered the room with the other first years and marveled at the sight of the great hall with students sitting on long rows of seat and a table equally as long. Waiting while being stared at by all of the students the sorting ceremony has started after waiting a long time. After counting the days of waiting for the hogwarts letter it finally came and he can now finally learn more about the wizarding world and the creatures in then came a weird hat had brought by one of the teachers.

The teacher stood next to a stool with said hat and called the first name on the list once the student in question was their and seated on the chair the teacher place the hat on the students head the hat took to features as a human with eye holes and a mouth and it started to speak migui was so amazed by that he didn’t pay attention where the other students got placed in and during his trance the teacher has started to call his name but he didn’t pay any attention with his mind focus on the hat wondering how it came to be he was so enthralled by the hat one of the other first years haven’t been called yet nudge asking if he was migui chaotic. Migui replied with a positive nod and the student pointed out that his name is being called and has been called 3 times and then migui started to look around and saw everyone was staring at him the teacher with the sorting hat looked annoyed that he didn’t act sooner and the other students were either laughing (sorted and older students) and the others were rather annoyed that have to wait a little longer (unsorted student) he bowed apologetically and said sorry to students waiting and made his way to the stool he was embarrassed he hope to hide in the sorting hat when placed. The after sitting the teacher placed the sorting hat and.

Tina was silent and her chin up as their group started to walk between the four great house tables. She had known the history quite well from her cousin Nora. The red robes suggest that they're the Gryffindors, the jocks if she translate it to muggle school system which she attended since she was in kindergarten. Greens are the Slytherins which means Nora was among them looking at her.

Tina gazed at the said house table and caught her cousin throwing daggers at her. The young Spaniard gave Nora a smirk, a smirk that said I won for now, because of her knowing about her secret novio. Little Tina found letters from a man named Spencer, of course, it wasn't a secret anymore. As the whole la familia knows about it and the fact they did what Christians wouldn't do before marriage, made Nora even angrier.

The young girl winked at her cousin as they stopped by the podium. Each and everyone waiting to be called a the sorting hat place them where they all belonged. Traditionally, their family comes from different wizarding schools and houses wasn't the problem for her. As the letter R ended, Tina was called on her full name.
"Sevillé, Faustina." The girl's face was poker and yet, she was annoyed by the name. She sighed heavily and walked to the front to deal with her randomized picked house.

The hat on her head was like a crown but more magical than the Queen of Spain has. Everyone was silent but she didn't want to be.
"Tener una casa es como tener una familia. Pero si eso es cierto, entonces tengo más de cien competidores a mi alrededor. Sé que la vida aquí es una competencia a veces, pero mi primo dijo que eliges lo que es mejor para nosotros" (Having a house is like having a family. But if that's true, then I have more than a hundred competitors around me. I know life here is a competition sometimes but my cousin said that you pick what's best for us)

The most awaited day had come. Maze stepped into the Great Hall. She was fascinated by candles, ghosts, huge walls....everything. She had never been in a castle before. She only read about it.

All the first-year students were approaching to the front of the room waiting to be sorted. That moment was coming and Maze became more and more nervous.
,,Tomorrow will be a great day. I will be already sorted and i will feel amazing with my new friends" That's how Mazikeen encouraged herself.

Her name was finally called. Her legs were shaking a little bit.
"You're strong, Maze" she thought.

"You'd make a good gryffindor...but an even better Slytherin,"

Andrea tucked her robe, flipping her hand over the smooth fabric once more. She was proud of not being embarrassed or wrinkled. Which, at every moment, had to ring her name, meant that her nose would be raised high, high, a smile on her face, and her feet would not be allowed to growl. In fact, the step will have to be a little springy, it might fit the way Andrea had played the procedure over and over again today.

Something little Turner hadn't imagined before, she had hoped that by this time she would have friends in the ranks of the first-born. Making friends was a bit difficult. Al though, it was definitely the fault of not being in the right place at the right time. Yes, Andrea will stick with that for a while.

Oh, Sorting! She looked at the smart who found the right place for everyone.

Andrea, Turner!

Andrea's name sounded. And like all the older members of the family, Andrea was on her way to Sorting. She knew that the family name was not there because she used to happen that she was certainly not Gryffindor and did not want to be. Let's live, see.

Susane is very talkative type of person. she can talk and talk and talk the whole day but now she is like an angel who is looking intently at the hat that can identify where she belongs. she cant stop thinking of things like what it would feel like if she'll wear it? Damn she didn't care to the house she'll go but about the feeling of that hat. maybe it will overwhelming? or maybe it will be heavy since it can talk, maybe it has a brain or something.
But before she could even think of any craziness about the hat her name was called
"SUSANE!"

She hurriedly got up and got in the front and she was smiling widely as her gaze followed the hat as it was placed in her head. she pouted in disappointment as she didn't feel anything when she wore the hat.

Bear couldn't say eager was an emotion she often felt; however upon laying eyes on the true abundance of space in the castle that emotion was edging up in her throat. The girl, used to living in tents in a commune, hardly ever in contact with the outside world, was awfully overwhelmed. The small, freckled girl wrong her hand on her wrist and tried her best not to make eye contact or bump anyone - not settled enough to make a conversation with any of the fellow students (or soon to be's) beside her.

It was obvious after a moment how this worked. Each person was stood in front of gawking eyes of their elders and separated into houses - why was there a need for separation? It seemed that it created competition - it was strange to thing that way. Bear had always been taught that while ambition was healthy, competition was not. There wasn't a way to compare yourself to anyone else, everyone was different. The south New Zealander waited nonetheless, and when her name was called she approached the stool.

Sitting down the girl waited, wondering how this hat could possibly decide. Shouldn't there have been a written test? It seemed almost a joke - a hat that could read minds and know pasts. Did it know things Bear didn't even remember about herself? She supposed it could, but maybe it was better she didn't know those things.

"A complicated one...hmmm...you'd do well almost anywhere, but you must go somewhere...so Gryffindor,"

Amariah was excited to be going to Hogwarts, she couldn't wait to start learning magic and see what her future would hold for her in the years to come. When she was first told that she was a witch, admittedly she was a bit overwhelmed at the thought of it all. What if she wasn't good enough, What if she hurt someone, or worse they died because of her? Those were thoughts she had in her head as she made her way to the great hall with the other students just like her. She watched the others ahead of her sit on the stool and have a hat placed on their heads as it calls out the houses that they'll be in for the next 7 years 'Oh, so that's how it goes.' She thought as she heard her name being called

SkyWolf, Amariah

Amariah walked to the stool and sat down and felt the hat being placed on her head. All right, so far, so good. 'Let's get this show on the road' She thought sitting in front of the entire school waiting for a decision to be made. And the house that Amariah will be sorted into will be…?

"You'll excel the most in Hufflepuff"

Saori was frightened by many of the prospects of being so far form home and the protection of the religious artifacts that she had been taught would keep her safe. The petite Japaese girl had thought of all the things that might happen now, knowing that her family was far away - and that magic was real. Of course they had come with her to do whatever they could, but now it was just she - small in the grand scheme of the world. She could hear hushed whispered of mermaids and immediately her mind fled to Kappa - which could drown horses. The forest could contain hundreds of demons, and spirits, and creatures. What kind of school allowed such danger?

The young girl approached the stool when she heard her name, knees trembling and hands locked together. As she took a seat she begged for the hat to give her a safe house without monsters in closets or under beds.

As Jacob walks down the long aisle to get to the end of it along with his classmates, he's excited fora new school year but feels a tiny bit nervous. He heard all the good things his sister, Samantha, said about Hogwarts. Speaking of his sister, he had locked eyes with her. She smiled at him and gave him a smile. He hoped to be in the same house as his sister or in Gryffindor. The people of the brave, as that's what he had heard from one of his classmates. He didn't mind what house he was sorted in, as long as he hoped to make some friends and got into the quidditch team.

It was then, the headmistress was calling out peoples names one by one. Issac was getting more and more excited as each name was called, getting closer and closer to his name. Until he heard the headmistress called his name.

"Jacobs, Issac"

As he walks towards the stool, his heart started to beat fast with excitement. The sorting hat is then placed on top of his head. He remembered that his sister mentioned that the hat spoke and told you what house you would be placed in. The next few minutes were silent until the speaking hat had spoken to him.

Jack stepped forward as his name was called, climbing the few steps to the platform and sitting on the stool without so much as a stumble. He was lucky enough to not be the first person sorted so knew what to expect, the hat would be placed on his head then call a house, and that would be his. He was excited to find out which of the four it would be, then later meet all his new housemates.

Catherine kept her eyes down as she followed the others into the Great Hall, and when the person in front of her stopped suddenly, she accidentally bumped into them. 'Oh! Sorry!' she gasped in shock, jumping back as quickly as she could. She didn't dare look up at the person, not wanting to see them glaring at her. It was only when her name was called did she dare to look up and take a quick glance around her. Everything was so beautiful. She did hope that she would make some friends like her sister had promised she would. She quickly moved forward, and sat on the stool, her eyes downcast again as the hat was placed on her head. She didn't want to see everyone staring at her, knowing that they were silently judging.
