Closed The Prince and the Frog

Teddy did enjoy these Halloween feasts where he could dress up as anything he liked, including as a frog and have a fun evening. He arrived a little late, missing the headmasters introduction but it was much the same as last year going off the decorations and activities on offer. He headed over to the snack table first and picked out some food, then poured himself a generous glass of pumpkin juice. He was thinking about finding some of his friends and seeing if they were brave enough to check out the spooky tent with him. He had to make the most of it as he was running out of opportunities as next year would be his last Halloween feast. That was a depressing thought that he shook out of his mind, he didn't have time to think about passing time right now, not in the middle of a party. He took a large bite of food and looked around to see who was around.

It was starting to sink in that this was hugos secenth year. even though he still had most of the year left at the school there were some events that he would be experiencing for the last time now. the halloween feast being one of them. it had been a while since the suggestion of coordinating costume with Miranda had come up, and while he hadn't really dressed up many times, he had decided to dress up this year. with a little help from Miranda, he had a prince costume ready. She had even helped him lighten his hair with a potion whose effects would last a few hours. he felt very regal but not much like himself as he walked into the hall, which he guessed was the point of a prince costume.
they spend a little time hanging out before they drifted apart and Hugo found himself at the drink table and took a glass of lemonade and paused he looked around the hall, taking in the costumes and people deciding if he should join in any of the activities. he looked around and there was a frog not too far away from him eating. as they turned around, he realised it wasn't an actual amphibian but a teddy. "Hello Teddy, nice costume" he said. walking over glad to have found a friend inside the lake of costumes.

Teddy took a large bite of food, maybe too big because when he heard his name and looked around, his cheeks were bulging from all the food. He didn't immediately recognise who was speaking to him with his light hair and no glasses, but he looked so good in his costume. He wondered momentarily if he was wearing real satin and then his mind wondered some more before he pulled it back. Teddy could hardly believe he was looking at Hugo, Prince Hugo for the evening. He held up a finger to say hold on while he tried really hard to finish his mouthful. He tried not to laugh at awkward it felt because that wouldn't be pretty. Finally, he was ready to swallow which he did then said, "Hugo? You look... you look hot!" Teddy felt stupid dressed as a frog.

hugo could see Teddystruggling with a mouthful of food. he hadnt meant to suprise him. "Oh no. i'm sorry. are you okay" he said. Stopping as teddy indicated to give him a second.
When teddy had managed to finish whatever he was eating and talk again he felt his entire face heat up. He wasn’t sure what to say. He was pretty sure no one had ever said that he looked hot before other than maybe if he had been outside too long in summer. No surly teddy didn’t mean it. Ie was just being nice. He tried to tell himself. He wasn’t hot. He couldn’t be. No, he was just a nerdy average looking guy. But there was something about teddys reaction the way he said it that made it hard to convince himself of that narrative. As the silence hiding between them he could feel the heat in hos face darken. He should say something. He knew that. oh, umm er, thank you” he managed to say. you look toad-ally great too he said. Why did he say that. It was clear he was a frog not a toad and he had already did he liked his costume. He took a sip of his drink to give him a few seconds to hopefully not embarrass himself further.

Teddy felt like an idiot in his frog costume, he laughed at Hugo's pun though, "I wasn't sure if it would be frogettable" He replied, adding to the puns. Teddy did enjoy a good pun. "Did you want a drink of anything Prince Head Boy?" Teddy said after a pause, "Or we could check out the spooky tent?" He suggested, looking around to see what their options were.

Hugo smiled as Teddy continued the puns, finding one better than his. "umm, not not frogetable. a perfect hop-portunity to wear the costume." he said. seeing tedy in the frog suit made him grin every itme he saw it. he wondered how he could construct the opportunity for one of the photographers to get a picture of them both in costume without araising suspicoans, though what would be suspicious of friend wanting a picture of their costumes he didnt know. He jsut knew he was actually enjoying himself far more than he had done at halloween before and liked his costume more than he had thought when Miranda had sugested the coordinate for the feast and wanted to get a photo of it.
when teddty asked if he wanted a drink or to look in the tent he rised the glass of lemonade that was still in his hand. "prince head boy. well that is a mouthful. and i've already got a drink so lets check out the spooky tent" he said looking towards it and wonderign what was inside.

"You're on fire! You deserve a crown for all these puns" He told Hugo, who had another pun up his sleeve. "Alright well let's go then." Teddy said, offering out his arm because why not. Frogs could be princely too.

hugo was enjoying himself and the whitty conversation with Teddy more than he would like to admit even to himself he smiled at the comment about him deserving a crown. he thought for a second for what to say back. "I'm sorry i am-fib-ian' if i say i have many more to use but the conversation has been ribbiting" he said cringing slightly as he stried to the pun on amphibian.
when teddy offered his arm out hugo didnt think twice about takign it. he didnth ave many friends. Pretty much just Oz and Miranda so it was nice to have another person who he could be friends with but he felt like he could relax and be himself around teddy even if he could still feel the warmth on his face and every beat of his pulse.
they entered the tent and suddenly the relative brightness of the great hall was deminished replaced by replaced by coffins and skelitans nd oher things that go bump in the night.
