Isabella stood rigid outside the door to her home. It didn't feel that way any more, not since her mother had been locked away in Azkaban and would be there for another year at least. An example was being made of her to the magical creatures community. Veela's the world over had been furious over her incarceration and had protested vehemently outside just about every countries ministry of magic but to no avail. It was little wonder then that every student at Beauxbatons academy had learnt of the incident before Isabella had shown up to begin at her new school. She became the butt of so many jokes and was harassed and bullied constantly. She knew some did it mainly to see if she would turn into the bird like creature that Veela's were world famous for turning into when angry. They hoped that like her mother, she would get so angry she would turn and possibly injure someone. Isabella however was only half Veela and only grew silvery scaled wings when she got angry, with these wings she was also capable of flying not by much but enough. She had always hated this of course and now detested herself and her 'kind' even more.

She felt such uncontrollable rage and anger towards her mother but somehow suppressed it well behind an even thicker wall of pity for the woman who had gotten so angry she had attacked her husband and landed him in hospital with some broken bones and a concusion. The ministry did not look too favourably on mixed marriages, never had and this was just one more thing that cemented their case.

Isabella's headmistress had written to her father, explaining how the school could no longer teach his daughter. Each professor complained that lessons were impossible to teach as she was such a distraction. Typical that she would get the blame when it was so obviously the fault of the other students. She was sent home on Christmas break with the knowledge that she was not welcome to return after Christmas. Isabella knew that when the headmistress had written and told her father, he was devastated mortified even. He had opted to have her home schooled once more but Isabella wouldn't hear of it. She begged and pleaded in every letter home to send her anywhere but do not lock her up like a prisoner in her own home.

Eventually, Christoph Ormonde relented. He could deny his daughter nothing, he applied to various schools even to Hogwarts in New Zealand where she had attended for a brief period the year before for the Triwizard Tournament.
