The Morning of the Article

Alexis' mouth fell open in shock as letters of all kinds came down and even a few Howler's of girls that didn't know what the heck they were talking about began shouting at poor Kiera. The girl didn't bring her wand, in fact she was certain that it was back at home with Izaak or in his bed room at Leah's house, but she certainly did not have it at Hogwarts New Zealand so she could do nothing but wish she could help. "Oh my goodness," she mumbled before looking over at a crying Kiera.

Alexis hugged her new friend to calm her down as the other's handled the mail. The transfer student bit down on her bottom lip as she saw all the owls flutter in, it was like a horrible, horrible nightmare for her friend. "Why don't you get out of here Kiera? We will handle with the letters, just don't pay any mind to them," she said as she pulled away, spying a wand laying further away, and just like Cyndi, she burnt the letters with some effort but she did help as best as she could.

Katheryn walked into the Great Hall to see her sister, crying and being pounded by a flurry of letters. She had just caught a glimpse of the two howlers and nasty green letter before Andromeda destroyed them. Immediately, Kat knew what was going on. Oh no, the article must have come out.. she thought worriedly as she raced towards Kiera. The two sisters were close, best friends really. The red head hugged Kiera from behind. "Poor darlin." she said in her southern accent. "Do you want to get out of here?" she asked, seconding Alexis's question.

Kiera smiled gratefully at Cyndi as she attempted to get rid of some of the letters. Kiera knew that she should read the letters but she couldn't help but want to. Kiera had the exact same thoughts about Cynthia. The woman better stay far away from Kiera.

Kiera shook her head at Alexis. "I don't think it matters where I go these owls will find me anywhere I go." she said miserably. Kiera turned as her little sister came up behind her. She offered her a week smile. "Hey Kitty." she said, using the pet name Kat hated. "I don't know what it matters leaving." she said shaking her head.

Kiera picked up a letter off of the table. She opened it up, against her better judgment. As soon as she pulled out the letter, her hands started to burn. Red welts began rising on Kiera's skin, causing quite a great deal of pain. Tears welled in Kiera's eyes. "That was dumb." she said, trying to joke with her friends but failing miserably.

Alex walked into the great hall starving for his breakfast but the sight that arrived to him wasn't the one he liked very much. He saw the commotion of letters and howlers at the gryffindor and knew at once what it was. His face paled slightly, and he rolled his eyes tryign to amuse himself but failing. He took his wand out and quickly banished some of the howlers that were still flying in.
Wow, some people just never give up, he thought to himself slightly depressed almost. He walked towards the table, cuffing a boy on the head who was pointing and calling her the player. He knew fine well she deserved it but he had to keep playing as if he cared for her and to do that he'd have to pretend to defend her.
As he walked up to them, he noticed Kiera was crying. Oh great, he thought knowing fine well it would be hard to keep to his plan if she was crying. He knew he still liked her and this just brought up the old feelings yet again. Using the practical side, he scooped up half odd of the howlers and letters no matter how much some of them decided to bite and sting his hands and placed them in an empty bowl. 'Incedio' he casted, making them turned to ash in a matter of seconds.
At least now with half the noise gone, less people started staring than before. Bending down to face Kiera he sighed. 'C'mon, let's go. It's way too hiked up in here,' he whispered to her, holding his hand out to her if she wanted to go. he could understand if she didn't want to though and stay with her friends. In fact he'd be more than happy to do that, but he'd give her the choice first.

(had to join ^_^ )

Kiera closed her eyes as she heard a familiar voice behind her. It was Alex. How could she have subjected him to this ridicule? She turned to look at him. Tears streamed down her face as she watched her boyfriend burn the hate letters. She felt immense relief for Alex right now. She nodded her head at him. The pain from the welts was getting to be very hard to deal with. Kiera would gladly go anywhere with Alex she only hoped that he might take her to get her hands fixed. The welts were starting to spread up towards her arms.

Kiera extended her hand to take Alex's. She winced slightly. It hurt even worse to touch something with her hands. Her head was swimming. What was this curse that had been in that letter? Kiera staggered slightly as stood up. She almost fell. "Please get me out of here." she whispered in his ear.

Alex felt so sorry for Kiera right now. How could he have thought she desrved this? Look at the stupid curse they had placed on her? It was horrible. What if it was damaging her permantly? he thought suddenly hugely guilty. He gave her a smile, though it was obvious it wasn't genuine. Any idiot could see he was worried for her at the moment.
As she stood up, Alex took her elbow as she staggered holding her up. 'Easy yeah?' he tried to joke , taking most of her weight in his hands. 'I will don't worry,' he spoke softly to her as waited for her to get her balance first. He decided right then he would take her to the hospital wing as quickly as possible. Who knew what that curse was doing to her.

Kiera nodded her head at Alex. She gave him a weak smile. "I'm okay." she said through clenched teeth. It was obvious that she wasn't alright. It took her a moment to get her balance. It was mostly just because Alex was supporting most of her weight. Kiera placed her arm around his waist to help her walk. She looked at him with a look that was so warm and loving it was if no one else existed. "Thank you." she told him so softly no one else could hear her talk.

Alex was glad Kiera had finally got her balance. He foudn it quite annoying how she was sayign she was fine when it was clear she wasn't.
'Well what else am I here for except for clubbing peoples' heads and escroting them to the hospital wing?' he joked with her as he sent a thank you smile to the other girls there. Even if he only knew Cyndi, he hoped the other woulds understand what he meant.
Trying to sheild her from most of the other students, he started walking her out the great hall as quick as she could go. As long as they were out there first then she could perhaps relax a little bit more. 'Can you manage to the hospital wing?'he asked her wondering if she would make it up all the stairs, even if he was supporting most of her weight.

Kiera smiled as Alex joked with her again. She tried to laugh but it was hard to in this much pain. She was trying hard to mask it and had a feeling she was failing at it. Kiera held on to Alex as tightly as she could. It would be even more embarrassing if she fell in front of everyone. As soon as they were out of the Great Hall, she heard Alex speak. She looked up at him her eyes wide. Kiera had forgotten about the stairs. "I don't know." she said frowning. "I'll try my hardest." she said, ignoring the owls that were still following her. Kiera needed Alex. He was her strength when she didn't have any. Her tears still ran down her face.

Alex shooed away the owls as best as he could without letting go of Kiera too much. 'Stupid owls. So glad I don't have one,' he grumbled comically rolling his eyes at them. As an Owl started hovering in front of them, Alex stuck his tongue out at it and it backed off amazingly enough. It even surprised Alex who looked stunned for a few seconds before smiling smugly as if he meant that to happen.
He heard Kiera's reply and sighed. He took that basically as a no. Glad there was only a few people leaving the hall at the moment and that was it, he smiled at her weakly. 'Never mind. And you can kill me after about your pride,' he warned her, knowing she probably wouldn't like it much but well, the quicker she got there, the quicker she could get healed up. Still holding her weight up as best as he could, he dropped one of his arms, tucked it under her knees swiftly and started walking up the steps two at a time. He jsut hoped the stairs wouldn't move as he was going up them as he'd need to a hand to balance himself.

The lean figure of the pale Slytherin boy seemed to glide across the Great Hall with a kind of eerie grace. Twirling the Daily Prophet in his grasp, he strode purposefully along the tables until he reached the Gryffindor side. Inevitably, there were a few growls and hisses in his direction as he passed the Gryffindors - he had been responsible for putting many opposing Quidditch teams' players into the Hospital Wing. Halting as he reached Kiera, Henric ignored Alex's presence and the protective shroud of Gryffindors around her, but merely looked at the Head Girl straight in the eyes, seeming to bore into her head with his piercing gaze.

Holding up the prophet, Henric smiled at her - a deceiving artificial smile that was enough to befuddle most teachers. "I heard about it from the other Slytherins, and it looks like they weren't wrong - the article's right here." As encouraging jeers echoed from the Slytherin table, he cocked his head and smirked at her. "Well done, Kiera - "One of Quidditch's most eligible bachelors" ... I would stick with your current boyfriend though. At least he was decent-looking. But maybe our Gryffindor princess prefers fame to fickle loyalty." Flashing her a dazzling smile, he turned his back on her and strode back towards the Slytherin tables, waving an airy hand at her while the Slytherins continued to jeer.

Kiera saw what Alex intended to do before it happened. She opened her mouth to protest as he scooped her up in his arm, as if she was some rag doll. Kiera shut her mouth, deciding against protests. Alex was right to pick her up. She was too weak to walk up all those stairs. Plus, she was in his arms. That was enough to pacify her.

At that moment, Henric Lee walked past the two of them. Henric was a vile boy, truly horrible. Kiera glared at the boy as he spoke. She tried to look tough but failed. She only looked vulnerable in Alex's arms. Why was Henric calling her Gryffindor princess? She was far from being a princess. Kiera's lips thinned as her temper flared. "That's all lies. I'm not dating James. I'm with Alex and I intend to keep him." she snapped back. "I don't want fame." she said to his retreating figure.

Tears streamed from Kiera's eyes. She could hear all of Slytherin laughing at her. Her face was beginning to turn chalk white, accentuating the red welts on her skin. They were burning as they continued up her arms. She looked up at Alex, looking very much like a child. "Please.." she whispered.
