The Ministry Gets Floored
Recently there has been some rumour about exactly what the Scitorari were planning for the Wizarding world and it seems that wizarding world is as small as Obsidian Harbour and Brightstone where last month, Scitorari inundated both areas. To think that something like this can even be accomplished under the ever-watchful eye of the ministry is ludicrous and one has to wonder whether the Ministry actually let it happen, or are they blatantly ignoring the rise of a power they dont understand.
Not only was the response by the ministry slow, there were no arrests, and not even one person called in for questioning. The protest was concluded with Aurors arriving belated to the party, and asking the protesters to disperse without any further follow up. Aurors could have been counted using your fingers and toes, ladies and gentleman, as for the hit wizards - what hit wizards? Perhaps there were, perhaps there werent - but one must wonder if protests like these can happen under the very nose of the ministry, right in front of our children, what else can happen? Will yet another high-ranking member of the ministry need some special watch as they go for a stroll through the park or, dare I say, attend a wedding?
The Ministry has been very tight-lipped on their future involvement in the chaos that has ensued. Arguments between protestors, officials, and civilians at times ran high, and one source confirms the possible use of magic - and still, no arrests. The ministry seems to have dropped the ball on this one, allowing themselves to be left stumped in the face of a peaceful, yet potentially threatening protest that could have very easily blown up. The ministry was questioned in front of impressionable children, and within Obsidian Harbour itself, and it is very concerning this was all allowed to garner support from civilians, including a sizeable crowd without a crack down. Its hard to figure out whether the ministry was just asleep, or simply not around to notice.
In all this, the Auror Office, Law Enforcement Office, and Minister for Magic himself have all been very quiet on this sensitive issue, without evidence of backing away from their neutral stances. The thought of possibly getting more hit wizards has been unanswered, the use of tactics by Aurors ignored, and one must wonder whether this would have all occurred under different leadership. The ministry seems to have a gap in their information web, and perhaps its time to go about looking to fix that.
