Declan was going to be killed by his uncle for sure this time. It hadn't even been a week at Hogwarts yet, and he's lost count of how many times he's lost his tarantula. Thankfully, his cousins hadn't found out yet, but he knew they'd find out eventually. The Gryffindor was so sure he had Little Will with him in the Student Lounge. He had been reluctant to get ahead on his studies, but Molly had been insisting he had to at least try, so he basically took his study things and his tarantula to the student lounge to study. Declan made a promise to himself that he was going to keep a good eye on his tarantula. But halfway through reading one of his textbooks, he fell asleep because the textbooks had been sooo boring. The next moment, he looked up, startled that he had fallen asleep, and he instantly looked around for his tarantula, Little Will, nowhere to be seen nearby. Panic washed over his face. Where did that tarantula go now? He stood up from where he sat, before looking around and underneath furniture. "Little Will? Where are you? Wilfred? Come on, dude, don't hide!" Declan whispered out in panic as he looked around, and basically repeated those words. He sighed and gave up on looking on his own. He needed help. He turned to a student nearby. "Hi! Um... You haven't seen uh... tarantula around have you?"

Cyrus was determined to do a little better at studying this year. Fourth year was no joke, especially as his OWL year would be next year. From everything he had heard, fifth year would be absolutely brutal. He had grabbed a small stack of textbooks and was working on outlines for his notes, adding the few things he had learned in his classes already. He was double checking a date for History of Magic, when he heard a kid calling for one of his friends. He didn't look up, though it was pretty distracting. He frowned at the boy when he spoke to him, then his eyes widened a little as he realized what he was saying. Tarantula? The hairs on his neck stood on end at once. "What?" He asked in a small gasp. Then he shook his head. "Not a funny joke, I'm trying to study here." He said, desperately hoping it was a really unfunny joke.

Declan's face kept neutral. Did he look like he was joking? He would absolutely not joke about his precious tarantula. "I'm not joking, man, it's a big emergency!" Declan says a bit worriedly with a shake of his head, waving his hands around, emphasising that it was in fact an emergency, as he continued to look for his companion. Where could his tarantula possibly be? The boy tried to retrace his steps to where he could've last seen his tarantula. Man, Uncle Paddy was really going to murder him this time if he didn't find that darn tarantula. "Um.. Sorry to disturb, you can keep studying, I'm sure Little Will is somewhere around" Declan says with a dismissive hand, as he continued to look underneath nearby furniture.

Cyrus pushed his chair back away from the table, pulling his knees up so his feet were no longer touching the ground. "What!?" He said, frantically looking around. "Why do you even have a- a monster like that?!" He asked loudly. He thought he saw something move and yelped, moving up to stand on the chair. The chair was safe. "There!" He called, pointing at what might have just been a shadow, in hindsight. "Try- er- try a summoning spell?" He added uncertainly. It didn't occur to himt hat the kid probably didn't know any spells yet, he was too busy panicking.

Declan narrowed his eyes at the older boy, completely shocked at what he called his companion. "What are you talking about? Wilfred is not a monster!" Declan says, annoyed. This guy didn't know what he was talking about. Little Will was a friendly little guy whom Declan loved very much. But let's be honest, Declan wasn't very good at keeping an eye on his tarantula. The Gryffindor whipped around when the older boy looked like he noticed something, and Declan quickly made his way in that general direction, though he couldn't find anything. "Where? I don't see him" Declan says hurriedly, looking everywhere in the general direction that was being pointed to, but he couldn't find Little Will anywhere. Declan frowned when he was told to do a spell. "I don't know how to do that spell! I only just got here!" Declan says as he waves his arms around frantically, trying not to panic. Maybe this was a lost cause, he may never see his spider, Wilfred ever again.

Cyrus let out a little hysterical laugh as the kid said the spider wasn't a monster. A tarantula! The only thing worse was an Acromantula, and those weren't allowed to be pets he was pretty usre. He honestly didn't get how a tarantula was allowed. "Well, maybe I wouldn't be calling it a monster if you didn't set it loose on innocent people." He snapped as he balanced on the chair. Cyrus spluttered a little in frustration when the boy said he didn't know how to do that spell. "Well I'm not doing it, I don't want it summoned to me." He said with a shudder. The thought of the giant spider flying straight at him was enough to give him nightmares, he was sure.

Declan was getting more and more annoyed by what he was saying. Wilfred was in fact not a monster. He had to prove that somehow. But he couldn't do that if Wilfred was walking around somewhere. Declan frowned. "Well, I didn't set him loose, he just happened to um... walk freely on his own" Declan says, trying his best to defend his own abilities on looking after his own tarantula, but that was obviously a big fat lie. He wasn't going to admit that he hadn't kept a proper eye on his tarantula when he should've. He knew if his cousin found out, he'd get nonstop telling off by Molly for sure. Declan's eyebrows furrowed further when the older boy had said he wasn't going to do the spell. "Awh what?" Declan frowned in disappointment. "Surely there is some other spell to get him back?" Declan says as he looked around again in the general direction of where the older boy was pointing earlier, but he was sure Little Will was long gone from that area and had moved on somewhere else.

Cyrus huffed idignanty as the guy claimed he hadn't set him loose. "How could the thing have wandered off if it wasn't loose?!" He exclaimed. Cyrus' mind was spinning and he still jumped at every slight movement he thought he saw. He gripped the back of the chair tightly. "No, I think the summoning spell is the only way." He said, trying to think quickly. "It's a first year spell, so maybe you can do it anyway- I can try to talk you through it?" He suggested, trying not to panic. Well, not to panic more than he already was.

All Declan could do at that moment was shrug sheepishly at what this older kid was saying. He wasn't gonna admit how irresponsible of a pet owner Declan had been, and honestly, even after this incident, there probably will be more times of him losing his tarantula, and he knew Molly was going to explode at him at one point. Declan frowned a little. Was he going to get in trouble for doing a spell he hadn't learned yet? He wasn't going to get expelled for it, was he? "Are you sure I'm not gonna get in trouble for using a spell I haven't learned yet?" Declan says with a tilt of his head. If he was going to get in trouble for using the spell, he was sure he was gonna blame this guy.

The kid had just unleashed a monster spider on the world and now he was worried about getting in trouble? Was he serious? Cyrus stared at him in disbelief. "No, it's fine. Just do it." He snapped. "It's called Accio, you point your wand and you say: Accio and then the spider's name." He said, grimacing. Who named spiders, anyway?
