- This Takes Place During the Yule Ball. ♥
Tonight was the night of the annual Yule Ball at Hogwarts New Zealand. A night that usually made most girls go crazy with trying to find the perfect dress, shoes, date, or anything along those lines. It was also going to be Miriah's last Yule Ball ever so one would think that she would be more willing to participate in it for once. But the Ravenclaw could really care less once more. It wasn't really her kind of thing. For starts she hated shopping for and wearing dresses so it'd be pointless to go shopping for something she hated and would never wear. Secondly, the whole aspect of finding a date seemed kind of pointless to her. Sure she could go with some friends instead of a date. But Miriah didn't really have any friends so that idea never really stood a chance. The final thing that made her detest the thought of going to a formal dance was the huge crowds and all the drama that usually followed along with it. The Ravenclaw had yet to witness a ball that didn't have girls in tears or fighting with one another for some stupid reason, it was just far too obnoxious for Miriah to really care about too much. So thats what brought her to just skip it all together and head up to the library instead. It was completely empty inside, not even the Librarian was in sight so Miriah vaguely wondered why it wasn't locked up or anything. She was grateful though. Since no one was inside it meant that there was no one inside who could bother, they were all probably down at the Yule Ball making memories or something like that. This gave Miriah a perfect chance to kick back and just read and pig out on some snacks that she had robbed from the Tables at the ball before she headed out of the Great Hall and the smell of, well winter and desperation. Hopefully no one else in this school was as nerdy as she was and decided to do the same thing.
Miriah hurried further into the Library and immediately went to her favorite section. It held a majority of her favorite books. Most of with were historical or full of mysteries that kept her up all night while she read them. Her pale hand and up and grabbed a few of them down from a higher shelf. A few would probably last her the duration of the ball so she didn't bother to get more than three. Once Miriah had her books she made her way over to a table and wasted no time in sitting herself down on it, her bag right next to her. The moment she had settled on the table she opened up the book and started on page one as her hand reached into her bag for a decorated Christmas Sugar Cookie. She brought it up to her mouth and took a small bite as her eyes scanned the page. This was very relaxing and she needed it, after all that she had been through. All this time Aiden had been on her mind and she didn't know why. He hated her and obviously thought she was a slut, so why bother? Miriah couldn't wait to Graduate so she could get out of this school and not have to look at him anymore without feeling a sharp pang in her heart.
