Cyan Territe had become more and more excited as days passed, getting ready for the ball. She had been working hard all year to perfect her hair, makeup, and the outfit - including working out to make sure she looked decent in something that exposed her midriff. It wasn't necessarily that Cyan wanted to look good for her date, no Silus was just a friend, however if pictures were going to be taken she wanted to look back and still love the way she looked when she was old and grey. The petite Hufflepuff also wanted to make sure when she showed Aion the photos he thought she looked beautiful; After his admission in the car though she was sure he would.

Anxious butterflies made themselves known in Cyan's stomach as she waited down the stairs for the Yule ball, just outside of the entrance hall where she and her Ravenclaw friend had agreed to meet. The only part of her that was even concerned was a voice in the back of her brain that told her if Alessio saw her tonight his feelings might be hurt. While Cyan had no romantic feelings for the boy, she did not want to hurt him either. Hopefully he would understand that she and the tatted student she was to dance with, were just friends.

For once, Silus didn't feel off as he neared the Entrance Hall, heading for the place where Cyan and he'd agreed to meet. The Ravenclaw had taken her words into account, making the decision to bare his inked arms in a short-sleeve button down. It was the last Yule Ball he'd be attending in his lifetime, and Silus was actually glad he'd accepted the spur of the moment offer from the girl. Most likely he would've missed the event if she hadn't befriended him on their chance meeting in the owlery.

She was already there, waiting for him in the dress he'd seen in her photograph, and he was relieved he'd decided to put the extra effort into his appearance tonight. Most of the girls he'd passed in his way here wore fancy dresses fit for a ball, but Cyan looked like she truly belonged at a ball for magical people. Silus wasn't going to flatter her, though, and he outstretched his hand to offer her the small bundle of wildflowers he held. The Ravenclaw had charmed them to be the colors of her dress. "I took your suggestion." He said with a small smile on his lips, gesturing to his arms.

Cyan was busy complimenting everyone that walked by her, when a male voice behind her caught her attention. With a large grin plastered on her freckled features she turned and immediately hugged her newest friend tightly around the waist. Since being at the Valentine's dance with Aion she had discovered regardless of height differences, dancing was much easier when one wore flat shoes. The curly haired student pulled back and looked over her dance-date-friend. "You look so good, look at your art!" she gushed, looking over his arms, glad he'd taken her advice. "I bet so many people compliment you on them tonight. And if anyone says anything bad I'll beat them up don't worry!" The puff turned happily toward the entrance before grabbing a hold of Silus' hand and tugging on him. "Let's go get some punch or something! I didn't get all dolled up to stand away from the crowd after all." She laughed, hoping he would agree and come with her for refreshments.

Silus suppressed a groan of annoyance as Cyan greeting him by wrapping her arms around his waist in a hug. He rolled his icy blue eyes before giving up his distant facade and chuckling, briefly returning the gesture. The height difference between the two was something he still found amusing, and somehow she seemed even shorter than the last time he'd seen her. Ah, he thought in amusement, glancing down and noticing the flats she sported. For some reason he'd remembered the fact that she'd previously worn high heel shoes, and Silus couldn't help but find the simple choice admirable. It showed how comfortable she was in her own skin, just being herself, and the tall youth flashed her a small grin of approval.

It did him good to hear her positive thoughts in his appearance, and he subconsciously stood straighter. That last comment took him aback slightly, about her beating someone over him. The Ravenclaw rolled his eyes and smirked lightly, feeling oddly flattered someone would say that, even if it was simply words. "Well, thank you, but than we'd most likely be kicked out." He responded in playful tone, already feeling in good spirits. Silus nodded once in agreeance at Cyan's proposal to hunt for something to drink, and he almost smiled at the last comment she made. "Good call." He replied, suppressing a chuckle. The Seventh year didn't even tense up when she grabbed onto his hand, knowing in advance it was a move she'd make, and he simply followed in behind her.

Cyan was caught off guard in the best possible way when Silus briefly returned the gesture of the hug. It was comforting mostly because the longer Cyan stood still, the chillier she got. Once they moved into the crowded great hall though, things would be much more comfortable and warmer for the Puff. For a moment when Silus had to look down noticeably, Cyan became conscious of just how short she was compared to the Ravenclaw, though it wasn't much different that how she was with Aion - so she knew they'd be able to dance and have fun regardless. At his eye roll Cyan giggled. "Hey don't roll your eyes! I throw a mean right hook." She held up her petite fist and knew why it was doubtful - in fact the last fight Cyan had been in she'd not even been able to throw a punch. She chuckled a bit more as they headed into the actual hall, where the music was blasting and the punch and snacks were located.

The curly haired Puff wound through people, excusing herself and apologizing, all the while keeping an eye out to be sure that she wasn't going to see Alessio down in the Ball. After all, they had planned on going together before the break up - something that had slipped the girl's mind when she had asked Silus. She had only asked Silus as a friend though! Regardless of what the hugging and hand holding looked like to anyone else. Cyan knew her heart belonged to Aion. Finally the refreshments table was in view and she stopped holding Silus hand. "Be right back!" She spoke, before going over and grabbing punch for the both of them. Once returned she held one out. "Here, I really hope you like the flavor. They did a really good job this year of decorating. Then again this is like my first year of going to a Yule Ball." She admitted.

Silus suppressed a chuckle at seeing Cyan's petite fist balled up, but the amusement was clear on his face. "You're going to hurt yourself more than anybody else with it like that." He responded with a small smirk, curling up his own fist tightly and holding it out before lightly tapping her on the shoulder with it. "Dont draw your arm back and don't grip your thumb." He added, crossing his arms. The Ravenclaw somehow doubted her statement about her throwing a mean one, thinking back on her eye the first time they'd met and how it was bruised up. Silus decided it wouldn't hurt anything to give her a suggestion or two. After all, he had experience up his sleeve, and it wasn't that he cared about her well being, he told himself. It was just a way to pass time and something to talk about.

Silus rolled his eyes as he let the girl lead him on a winding path through and around other students. He wanted to tell her to quit apologizing, but was quite comical to watch and so he kept his mouth shut. His gaze fell around the rest of the decorated hall as Cyan went off towards the refreshment table, and he sighed quietly, his hand finally free. The Ravenclaw let it drop back to his side like an unused leash, and stood there observing the rest of the Great Hall. It almost seemed like each year he attended it got grander. He turned his gaze, hearing a familiar voice and gave a small smile. She had returned and had brought him a drink. It made the boy feel better than he let on, taken aback once more of her consistent kindness towards him. Gestures like that were something he wasn't accustomed to, and he raised it briefly towards her before tilting it back.

Finished taking his sip, he lowered the glass and quirked a brow, surprised to hear this was her first time attending the Yule Ball. Either she was lying or she had a tremendous failure of a memory. It didn't seem like her not to have come in the past. The venue seemed to fit her somehow, but the longer Silus thought about it, he realized he hadn't actually seen her there in any of his previous attendances. "Really? I would've thought you and your Aion friend would have gone at least once." The Ravenclaw replied, wondering aloud. It was out of character for him, but so far this whole evening had been, and he simply found Cyan interesting to be around.

Cyan looked at the shape of her first, and then at Silus', which he used to gently tap her with. She changed the way she held it, her thumb tucked off to the side rather than under her fingers. She nodded at his advice, though frankly Cy wasn't sure when she'd ever need it. She didn't plan on getting into a fist fight, but she also liked to think that no one planned those things and that they just sort of happened. The Hufflepuff smiled feeling confident in her ability to make a fist.

As she and her friend sipped at their drinks the Puff shrugged a little. "Aion was getting over a really bad breakup when we became friends. And there was some drama with this hufflepuff girl who wanted to be in a relationship with him or something." She took another drink. "She wasn't his type though, I don't think." She remarked, now aware that Aion thought Cyan was his type. If the teen didn't know he was in love with her she would have though brunettes were the girls he favored. "Besides, most of the time I always thought Yule ball dates had to be sort of romantic or something..." Cyan lost her train of thought as the music shifted, a slow song she rather enjoyed came on. "Oh! i like this song a lot, wanna dance?" She inquired, setting her empty cup to the side for a house elf to clean up. She reached out and grabbed at his hand, hoping he'd let them dance a little bit. Not that Cyan was a great dancer.
