As a transfer student, Kylie had much to learn about Hogwarts, from teaching styles of her Professors or House Elves to avoid but most importantly though she needed to know where everything was. She didn't have the time to be bumbling around like a first year looking for classes so luckily one of the Prefects from her house had offered to show her around. This was after Potions, when they both had a free moment so as class let out she packed her bag up and waited for him in the corridor just outside of the classroom, assuming he might want to talk with a few of his friends as he left. Kylie was just glad that Isaiah was willing to do this, so she didn't want to make him feel rushed. While BTA had been a nice enough Academy, Hogwarts already was proving to have a kinder stock of students. At least this was what she felt from being here so far. She still had a lot to learn.

Although she maybe would've wished to change out of her uniform which was never something Kylie felt completely comfortable with. She much preferred muggle clothes, they always felt less formal to her and more expressive than a cloak covering a very plain uniform. In Brazil, they had been expected to wear uniforms only during class but only if the Professor felt it required. The uniforms were severely dated and some students were able to afford multiple sets. Still Kylie was lucky to not have to be separated so far from her family, the last year had been very difficult with her father being back in New Zealand all the time.

Isaiah as a new prefect had a number of duties which needed to be done, he was now patrolling occasionally as part of that, and thankfully with Keye and not someone else that he perhaps didn't know, it was likely a good thing he'd met her in the previous years and despite how they'd met, and how they perhaps not gotten off to the best start that they'd become friends, it was a good thing for now, as he was face with people he didn't know in a situation he wasn't too sure about. The teen however had agreed on this day to do something a little different, there had been a number of new transfers to the school, as ever though he thought a lot of the transfers always seemed to end up in Ravenclaw and this year was no different than any other, he was faced with people new to the year, new to the house and now as a prefect, Isaiah had offered his services to anyone who had wanted to be shown around, since he was keen to prove himself as a good prefect, and had been a little surprised when someone had taken him up on the offer, so he was now heading out of the potions class to meet her and to show her around.

After packing away his things and leaving the room, he spotted the girl, and wandered over, "Kylie, hey," he called out as he swung his bag on to his back and adjusted the tie to sit a little more loosely, undoing the top button of his shirt now that he had a little bit of a break, the prefect badge pinned proudly to his chest as he walked over. The teen smiled at her, "Ready to get started," he asked her with a friendly smile, he didn't know that much about her, he'd met her friend Pia, and thought that both Kylie and Pia were very lovely people, and he was more than happy to help them out, and really anything to get his mind away from Archie who could very well, drag him back to where he was last year, the boy had a way of getting under Isaiah's skin, making his life a little difficult, but pushing those thoughts aside, he just smiled at her with a friendly expression, "The castle is huge, so I hope you packed lunch,"

Kylie wished that they were given a map of Hogwarts upon transferring but with a castle of this sort, it seemed as if there were places that changed constantly. She'd read that at the original Hogwarts there was a secret room that only ever appeared if you wanted it too. A place with that sort of magic would be difficult to have a strict floor plan of. It was for this reason that she had been the one to accept Isaiah's offer of a tour. The newly sorted girl felt a little nervous to do this as she waited for him though, like perhaps this was a little silly and that if a first year could find their way to a class she could too. Without the time to go back on her choice Kylie saw the Prefect approach and she smiled up at him. "Yes, are you?" she asked in return politely, with an accent as strong as ever despite her best effort to sound more American to be more easily understood. She still struggled with the accent after all of these years of speaking English but in Mexico and Brazil, English was hardly a language she'd cared to learn especially in her regions. if it weren't for her mother's family, she might not have been as exposed to it outside of muggle television.

"I had a big breakfast," Kylie retorted lightly with a grin. Lunch was never a meal that she ever ate anyway, finding he never had an appetite for it. For the Latina it was always a piece of celery or a carrot and that put her through until her dinner. She paused for a moment while she adjusted her messenger bag on her shoulder then asked, "Where do we start?" She hoped she wasn't putting him out too much by doing this although she really appreciated it. She vowed to herself to get him some sort of holiday present or a butter beer if she ever saw him at The Three Broomsticks. It was the kind thing to do so it was very important to Kylie to behave this way. She did not want him to feel as if she was unaware he was doing this out of his own effort, his own free time and his own strong character. That would be the furthest from the truth. So while Kylie made these plans in her mind she hoped this would begin because the dungeons were a nasty place to be for the most part. She'd gone a little too far deep into them while trying to find the potions class as they all seemed to be mostly unmarked doors. Save for House doors and bathrooms they were a little too anonymous for her liking and for anyone's ease.

Isaiah smiled at Kylie and nodded happily, "Of course!" he replied with a light tone as he got himself a little more ready for it, adjusting his bag, brushing the strands of hair from his face and pushing away his fringe. He was ready to show her around and it was easy for him to want to do this too, even though it had really just been a polite suggestion which someone had taken quite literally, the teen was more than capable of showing a new student around the school, the first years had the advantage of everyone else not knowing where to go, the older students didn't have that, they weren't able to follow everyone else around, since the older the students were the more different their classes and so this meant that for new students arriving it made a whole lot of sense to be shown around. With Kylie given her accent at the fact she wasn't really from New Zealand he spoke as clearly as he could so that she wouldn't have too much trouble understanding him, which the boy figured was the least he could do, "A big breakfast? Not bad, but if in doubt, I brought snacks," from within Isaiah's bag he pulled out a few chocolate bars if she wanted one.

Isaiah didn't think they'd get hungry but there was a lot of school and they would need to cover a lot, "Starting here is as good a place as any," he told her, he motioned into the class they'd just come from "That is the potions classroom, there are two potions professors and their offices are just a little down the hall," he told her motioning in that direction, "Although if you need any help out head of house is the best place to go," he added almost as an after thought, the boy took a few steps forward waiting for Kylie to follow, "Further down the hallway in a that wards direction, we have the duelling area, you need a professor present before you duel with someone," he explained, "As well as that you have the Slytherin common room, they are in the bottom of the school, compared with us Ravenclaws at the top," he was adding useless little bits of information, but Isaiah didn't quite know what she would want to know about this school and what was pointless for her to know, "Any burning questions so far?"

As Kylie listened to Isaiah tell her a little bit about the school she felt a bit more at ease because already things were sounding a little more at ease here. Duelling was a bit more civilized than sending things to shrink a persons head or alter their bodies, at least that was what the girl thought. This was, perhaps, due to the fact that she took to duelling like a duck to water. Yes, it was unexpected in a girl of her disposition and stature but size was no indication of power. "Are there competitions? For the duelling," she asked, as they walked side-by-side. She hoped so or else the use for it would be organized arguments. She thought that might be a bit more childish than she would like and would have to forgo any duelling here if that was the case. As they walked a little further, it became harder to see by the fire lighting their way in a place with no windows so she raised her wand and said, her accent thick as ever, "Lumos." She glanced towards Isaiah, her wand not pointed to his face but towards the ground before her, and said, "I wish Hogwarts had a map." It wasn't that she didn't wish to spend time with the extremely thoughtful prefect but she felt badly for taking up both of their free time to do this. Even more so as he seemed to feel a little uneasy. Clearly this was not a tour often done which was what she had thought because why else offer such a thing if one was not prepared to do it? Kylie adjusted the strap of her bag and continued walking wherever Isaiah led her.

SORRY!

At the question of duelling, the teen gave a little nod, there was a tournament or attempts at one most of the years he'd been at the school, if they happened that was a different matter, but there was always a valiant attempt at it, "The Student Defence Association runs one, or tries to run one every year, they can be pretty fun, but you can also just arrange one, you need to ensure there is a professor to supervise but that shouldn't be too hard to do," he reasoned, Isaiah had never done such a thing, but he was sure that it couldn't be too much more complicated than that. He blinked at the light before just nodding, he didn't usually need a light down these parts but then again he was mostly used to the lack of light from these areas of the school, he didn't need his wand to show the way, she was new to the school and unused to the little points of the school which he and others had grown accustomed to, "Yeah, that definitely would be useful when first starting, how big was your last school?" he said in agreement nodding a little before just giving her a smile, "The best part of the Dungeons, and I mean that's not too hard is the Kitchens," he told her motioning for her to follow him down the corridor, "These here are the kitchens, the house elves make all the food for the school, but you can if you want to just ask for them to let you make something and they will," he told her brightly, he definitely liked the kitchens, "Did house elves work in your last school?" he asked curious about the other schools, they didn't do much on them, and the teen being a ravenclaw was naturally curious about what they were like, he knew he'd only ever get to experience this school, and while he didn't mind this it was still good to learn about them.

Kylie nodded her head, appreciating the information. She got the feeling that it was a little lack lustre for someone like her but it was no matter. To make conversation she told Isaiah that, “In Brazil we had teams. It was as competitive as Quidditch is here.” She didn’t mention that the competitiveness might have been something she had as it was likely implied for her house mate. She would hate to sound like she was boasting but if there was any one sport she could get into it had been duelling. She’d even saved for tickets to go to a professional duel much to the dismay of her father who thought the sport was a waste of time, energy, money and magical talent. She was not so sure. “Castelobruxo is very big but the grounds aren’t like Hogwarts.” Kylie answered, recalling how walking up the steps of her old school had made her legs ache at times although she had enjoyed being so secluded sometimes too. “It’s in the rainforest.” Many who went to her academy went on to be such wonderful herbologists but it was not in the cards for Kylie as far as she could tell. She didn’t love to be dirty, there was nothing romantic about it. She glanced over at the door to the kitchens as Isaiah directed her to them. “Not as many as here,” Kylie answered uncertainly about the House Elves. Admittedly she had never seen one at Castelobruxo and yet she was sure they were there. Europeans had brought them to South America during the colonization because even the wizards had gone to South America. They history of her school had vaguely outlined the hesitance to use what Spain and Portugal had brought because of their treatment of the indigenous people and eventually a cultural wipe out for the most part as Castelobruxo was forced to use Portuguese and Spanish just as the muggles were forced to. It was a dark time and continued to be such a spot on the history of South America’s wizarding community, it was why many felt anger with the amount of foreign exchange students they were sent from Hogwarts Scotland. Kylie, on the other hand, felt sad about the history but not much else towards it as she was mixed race and always felt she had one foot in each side either way.

Isaiah was very interested in the fact her old school had duelling as competitively as they had quidditch, as a quidditch player he was highly competitive and definitely understood that aspect of life, even though he didn't imagine he would play after school he was still incredibly competitive and he always wanted to win, "I'm on the Ravenclaw quidditch team, so I can understand the competitiveness," he told her with a smile definitely thinking that quidditch was better than duelling but wishing they had clear teams and that he could join the team much like with quidditch and improve it. The teen continued to walk her around explaining to her the different bits of the dungeon which she seemed to be interested by but he was equally as interested in her school as she likely was in this school, he couldn't imagine what it would be like to go to school in a rainforest, to be in a school that was big but didn't have the grounds or space that Hogwarts did. He wholeheartedly wished he could visit the other schools, his natural curiosity definitely making him want to read all the books he could find on the different schools.

The teen knew that almost all magical schools used house elves to some degree, although he didn't know the scale of it, the teen loved going to the kitchens, if only to just be able to get a couple of snacks when he came in really early after a run, or anything like that, they were always so kind and helpful, "The house elves are great, they are really friendly, you'll never have any trouble with them," the teen told her clearly speaking from experience, "I know a couple of them by name, but there are a lot and it's just not possible to know them all, but they are kind creatures," he couldn't believe the people who mistreated elves, as if they'd done anything to deserve any sort of poor treatment. The prefect just gave a warm smile at her, feeling that in her tone that perhaps she would agree with him on the fact that house elves shouldn't ever be mistreated. The teen motioned to the door, "Would you like to go in?" he asked unsure about what she'd want to do, and unsure as to if this was the right thing to suggest, but hoping that she didn't mind either way, he had after all never given a tour of the place, he'd shown his brothers around but that was different, his brothers just wanted to see everything, if they then remember it was a plus.

Quidditch wasn’t something that had ever interested the girl too much because flying just felt unnatural even as a witch. Unless she might one day sprout wings she would be happy to stay on the ground but that didn’t mean she didn’t appreciate the effort people put into the sport. A distant friend had once left their school to transfer to a school which had specialized in Quidditch alongside all of the other classes like a muggle arts school. Kylie smiled as Isaiah seemed to understand. From what she had hurt the Ravenclaws weren’t the ruthless types but sometimes it was needed. “What position do you play?” she asked, glancing over his stature to see if she could hazard a guess. He didn’t look to be exceptionally bulky so she ruled out beater and he seemed too clever to put himself in danger to be a Keeper. This left only Chaser and Seeker so she asked, curiously. “Seeker?” Maybe it wasn’t the best of guesses or maybe it was but she was really trying to keep a dialogue happening. The girl thought of this as an opportunity to become friends with Isaiah as well and as she only knew Pia here she was in no position to not work to make possible friends. She didn’t ask the Prefect for fear of being labelled as rude but she wondered if the team were any good because she could be prompted to watch a game if it wouldn’t be duller than a sack of potatoes.

Kylie smiled again, thinking how nice that must be to the house elves because she knew enough of them to know that they were mostly treated quite horribly. For someone to learn their names and presumably become friends with them must be quite a big deal. “They sound nice,” she said just to say something. Truth was she had no real idea what House Elves were like outside of the stereotypes and the mistreatment of them by their owners. She hoped that Hogwarts treated them well - she would hate to participate in something so awful as creature abuse. She didn’t even really mind Werewolves - not that she had met one but even if she had Kylie suspected there was no definite way to know without being told explicitly. As he suggested they go into the kitchen she smiled again and nodded her head. She didn’t mind either way, she was really just relieved that someone had offered to give her this tour around the school.
