Madeline took a deep breath; this would be her first trip on the road to becoming a Magizoologist, alone. No James, no best friends, she would be travelling alongside a Dragonologist who had been in the field for a couple of years and by chance it was her best friend's boyfriend which made things a little less awkward. Being of age now Maddie could apparate on her own so Matthew and Maddie had decided to meet on the coast of Shanghai where they would then be moving on to the last known sighting of a rare dragon. Maddie wasn't sure if she wanted to specialise in Dragons so this was a good way to see what she would be interested in. Dragons alwas fascinated her but she loved all magical creatures and wanted to see as many she could.
She said an emotional good bye to James, her siblings, cousins and parents before she decided to step out of the house and into the front garden where she would be apparating. She wiped away her tears as she tried to think clearly of the destination. She didn't want to end up in the wrong place a few thousand miles away from home especially not on her first journey away. The only thing that made her feel better would be the fact that she would write to the most important people in her life while she was on her travels but it wouldn't be the same as seeing them everyday. Especially since leaving school she was practically living with James and now she would be going months without seeing him which would be one of the hardest things for her. She inhaled deeply and span on the spot while thinking of the coast of Shanghai before she had chance to change her mind.
