Lady Helena normally did not attend the Yule Ball. She normally spent her time floating about the abandoned corridors or sitting in the common room listening to the excited students as they got ready, however this year she decided to join in the festivities. She had never attended the Yule Ball in New Zealand before and as she floated around listening to the music she couldn't help but smile. "The music is a little different than in my time" Lady Helena said to herself as she began spinning around above the rest of the students and faculty. She then quickly lowered herself towards the floor as she realized that anyone that wanted too could look up her dress even if they wouldn't be able to see anything only the ceiling. That was not the point however since she was a lady and did not want to give anyone any type of ideas that would be improper even if she was no longer attainable. Lady Helena floated through a couple of students ensuring to say "excuse me" as she did so and made her way towards the food.

"I wonder if it all tastes as good as it looks?" Lady Helena said as she looked around for someone she knew so that she could ask. "I guess it doesn't due to spend time wondering things that one can never have" Lady Helena said to herself as she decided instead to go back onto the dance floor. She smiled as she greeted a few of the students and looked at all the decorations thinking about the many balls she had been too before she had left the world of the living. When she was alive she had hated them and thought they were boring and a waste of time, now however things were different. She truly enjoyed the essence of such nights and envied the students and the time they had. Her balls were not nearly as exciting as this one, perhaps she would've enjoyed them more if they hadn't all been so... formal.

It's again time for the annual Yule Ball at Hogwarts New Zealand. This is only the second time that Snow joined it, the previous one being the Yule Ball back in her first year. She had a date during that time. But now, though. She was utterly alone. But it wouldn't stop her, anyway, from joining it since she was really bored. "Again with the overdecorated hall." she spat as she walked around the hall. There was dancing, of course, though Snow never liked it. "And with the overdressed people." she added, even though she herself was wearing a rather beautiful light blue gown that resembles where her name came from.

Snow suddenly saw a ghost dancing around the place. If she was right, the ghost was from Gryffindor. And, out of curiosity, Snow walked towards the ghost. "Is it alright for you to dance without a partner?" she asked her, making her voice loud so that she can be heard even with the loud music.

Usually, Christmas - or Weinachten (depending on which language you preferred) - was a quite calm and private occasion for the Mollinary's von Lohenstein, but not this time apoarently. After sending out all the appropriate "Frohe Weinachten"-'s this morning to mum and dad and the various aunts that she had, Maria had dressed, not in her usual uniform, but in a deep blue floor-length ball gown, and went to brunch with it! She was sure that she had attracted quite a few eyes, but she really needed to get used to the different weight compared to her usual outfits if she wished to attend tonight, so she didn't care. Then after that brunch, she had been sitting in the common room all afternoon, reading various novels. One and a half hour before she had to go, she took a quick shower, fixed her hair into a bun with a pin, got dressed again in that deep blue gown, added a pair of shining black flats to her outfit and proceeded with due grace to the Great Hall.

Well there she picked an empty table and just watched the students and staff dancing. And she missed her usual Christmas, a lot. How her family would just sit around the Christmas tree in the living room and enjoy their teas, their presents and their Lebkuchen. If it was anything she missed it was the German gingerbread.

Sighing as she nearly dozed off in her daydreaming, despite the loud music playing. Catching herself just before she really nodded off to the land of gingerbread she looked up to find a ghost and an older girl nearby. Still slightly dazed from her bout of daydreaming Maria decided that she would like some company, ghosts or not. So she walked over to them, curtsied as usual and said with a polite smile: "How do you do?"
