Being separated from his siblings by house was not exactly as Gideon had thought it would be. Sure, it was nice to have some time on his own, and establish his own identity away from what had often been the Zelinsky trio, but they were the most familiar and comforting faces in the castle, and weren't always around when he needed them the most. Like now, as the boy dropped a handful of frog spawn soap in a bucket of warm water. They would have been a help at causing a distraction while he set it up. He'd seen the item advertised in the window of a Brightstone shop, and had planned to use it on Elijah, but he was having difficulty finding his brother recently.

Not sure if it would expire, and unwilling to let it go to waste, Gideon decided to put the magical soap to use while he still could. Surprisingly it had been the Entrance Hall that was the least populated at present. Perhaps there was a class on that he'd forgotten about. In any case, the next few students who walked through were bound to get a surprise. As the soap was submerged into the water, it quickly bubbled into a mass of conjured frogs, practically overflowing from the metal bucket, which he'd liberated from one of the store closets. Amphibians quickly swarmed the floor and hopped up the staircase in the hundreds. Perhaps he'd added a bit too much. Still, it was a sight to see, and Gideon attempted to carefully tread his way out. Unfortunately, with so many frogs hopping about his feet, moving was nearly impossible to do, and he was stranded near the house point hourglasses while searching for an opening to get away.

Peyton had never understood why some professors would assign homework right after the holidays, it almost seemed as if they enjoyed torturing their students like that. She'd almost think that it was a part of the job description, because she could remember the teachers at her Muggle school being exactly the same. Not feeling like ruining her entire day just thinking about the work she had to do Peyton was making her way down the stairs, hoping she would find some friends in the great hall who were up for doing it together.

The third year Ravenclaw had only taken a couple of steps into the entrance hall when she heard a strange noise, one that didn't fit the other sounds of the castle. Curious as she was Peyton decided to take another couple of steps into the entrance hall, looking around as she was trying to figure out where the sound came from. When something slimy suddenly brushed her leg the girl let out a squeak and immediately looked down at the floor around her. Frogs, and a whole lot of them! There was no way these frogs would just come out of nowhere, so there had to be someone else in the entrance hall who was responsible for it. Peyton carefully turned herself around in the direction the frogs came from, trying not to hurt any of them, and noticed a kid standing there. "Did you do this?" Peyton asked him as she let out a slight chuckle, she had to admit that it was kind of fun seeing all these frogs hop around, making their way into the castle. However if this kid truly was the culprit he didn't seem like he had thought it through, as he was as much stuck in his spot as she was at the moment.

It had been a full three minutes on being stranded when another student made an appearance in the hall. Gideon jumped at the sound of her voice, thinking for a second it might have been a professor, and let out a relieved sigh when he saw it was a just a girl, maybe a few years older than he was. "Hah, well." He began, shifting uncomfortably on the spot. His legs were getting tired of standing in just one place. "That depends on whether you'll tell on me or not." The boy laughed, though at this point he'd be found out before he could get away from the scene of the crime.

The entrance hall was swarmed with frogs and even though Peyton wasn't too fond of the occassional feeling of a slimy frog brushing against her leg, the third year had to admit that it was pretty funny to watch them hopping around. "I won't." She smiled at the kid, knowing by his response that he obviously was the one responsible for the sudden appearance of the amphibians. The Ravenclaw could appreciate a good prank and even if she didn't she wouldn't tell on someone that easy. Looking from the frogs back to the boy she chuckled, wondering how long it would take untill they could move again without stepping on a frog. "How'd you even do this? Used some kind of prank product?"

After an hour or so of study, Lilyanna was hungry. The girl had been studying non-stop for days and so she felt that she deserved a break. She packed away all of her textbooks into her bookbag and began to make her way down from the library to the Great Hall, excited to be filling her stomach as she walked down the stairs. But as she walked into the Entrance Hall, she couldn't help but notice a group of frogs out of the corner of her eyes making ridiculous noises. Furious, Lilyanna turned right around to see what the reason for it was and found two younger students standing among them. The Slytherin began to make her way over there, stepping on one of the frogs as she approached. The frog let out a loud scream and Lilyanna jumped, before stepping aside and confronting the students. "What do you think you're doing!?" she exclaimed, her hands on her hips. "Which one of you thought this would be a good idea?"
