Adalyn walked along to corridors of the Durmstrang castle. Classes were out for the day and so being her, she decided to wander around till she found her brother or something interesting to do. Even though she was a forth year she didn't have any friends. Everyone had already been pushed away as she became a teenager. When she was younger her mother had made her pretty in pink, but now Adalyn just wanted to be different and yet alone. She watched as the younger students ran the halls but payed no real attention to them.

Adalyn leaned against a wall watching hexes being thrown back and forth down the hall, her invisable shield protecting her from any that came near. There seemed to be two students who were battling it out once and for all in the hallway as others tried to get around them without getting harmed. She put on foot up on the wall underneath her, and with her arms crossed she watched as things became more and more heated.

Bored was not a word that people normally associated with Jack. He had found himself shoved to the side as some 5th years had had a heated discussion that had now resulted in a proper duel. He smirked as he watched them shouting curses and hexes at each other, dodging them and the crowd sighing as they skimmed each other. He had decided that if it got much worse, he would probably interveen, but for the mean time, he would just watch and laugh. Guessing that they would both end up in the hospital wing if anyone else joined it, he stood to the side. Suddenly, a group of first years came tumbling out of their lessons. Seeing that a duel was going on, they pressed themselves up against the wall and Jack found himself pushed up against the wall as someone ran to their next lesson. Sighing to himself, he found that he was looking down on a girl trapped in-between his arms. He was facing the wall and his arms were on the wall on both sides of her. Realising that she looked rather lonely, he smiled at her. "Hey. Sorry 'bout that. First years." He said with a roll of his eyes. He sighed again and swung around so he was now leaning against the wall on one arm and was no longer trapping her if she wished to escape.

Adalyn glanced up as someone pressed up against her as he was pushed by the scared first years. Her breath stayed held in as she took him the guy in. He was older but different then her usual crowd. Her breath came out slowly once he wheeled himself away from her, which she was glad for. "Oh it's fine. Kind of strange getting knocked over by first years huh?" She asked but it wasn't one she excepted an answer. Most people when they got a closer look, ran. Her heavy make-up and style of clothing gave the imprint of trouble in their minds. But she was just a rocker, dark and mysterious were her motto. Adalyn didn't bother smiling back, it was rare for her to smile in the first place, her face remained black but intrigued as she turned back to the duel.

Jack smirked at her response and her style. She seemed to not really notice anyone. At a first glance in Jack's opinion, she seemed rebellious and the sort of person that would do something dangerous or wrong. My type of person. He thought to himself as he continued to watch the ongoing duel. "Yeh. Kind of strange. And this duel as well. Randomly started and yet no one seems to be bothered about helping anyone out. Especially their friends." He said, pointing to a group at the side whom he had noticed hanging around with the 2 boys. He smirked as they stood there, motionless as they heard and saw the curses that their friends were firing at each other. Feeling an urge to through in some more spells that none of the students would yet know, his hand flicked to his wand. Glancing back to the girl he was with, he noticed she wasn't smiling or looking afraid. Feeling slightly sorry for her, he held out his hand. "Im Jack. Jack Evans." He said with another smile, trying to encourage one onto her face - sure that it would lighten it all up a little bit more.

Adalyn glanced at him as he talked but didn't say much for awhile as the duel continued. "I wouldn't go out and help if it was my friend," she told him looking over to two who were fighting. The spells weren't very good ones, and they always missed; the two must have just learned them in class recently.

Jack Evans. Adalyn knew who he was, she hung out with a few of his crowd before. Though not one were really the hard-core rocker type that she liked. Actually she hadn't even thought about dating anyone in her group either. "Jez. Adalyn," she said back to him but didn't offer her hand back to shake his. She didn't want to offend him but once she would reach out and shake his hand her concentration on the shield around them would falter.

Jack raised his eyebrows at this comment. If it was one of his friends, he would probably also just stand there and watch. But if it was one of his friends against another student, he would intervene even if it was just for the fun of it. He shrugged, not sure whether he agreed with her or not.

Realising that she wasn't going to shake his hand, he put it down. The shield around them was coming from her wand, so with a flick of his own, Jack conjured up another one around her one incase hers broke. He found these spells much easier now that he was older and didn't want her to feel the pressure of having the spells to cope with by herself. "Well it's nice to meet you Adalyn. What year are you in?" He asked, concious that the conversation was making little progress.

Adalyn watched as he put his hand back down to his side and she smirked. Atleast he wasn't very forceful with conversation like some people were, of course other people didn't understand when she didn't want them near. "Hmph. If you think so, then it's nice to meet you too. Fourth year however I spend much of my time with a few sixth years and mostly seventh years, we have a band and invite people to listen in sometimes," she said wondering if this Jack person had ever been to one of the parties they held down in the dungeons. Most of the students even didn't know know about it because they were so deep in the dungeons the sound didn't reach anyone else as they played well into the nights.

Jack raised his eyebrows at her. "You play in that band?" He asked, remembering one time when he had gone to listen in the bottom dungeon. He didn't recognise her, but then again, he hardly recognised anyone from around the school these days. He just couldn't be bothered. "I went once, it was good." He said with a smile now. He thought that she was probably one of these people who was too old for their real age, and needed to hang around with older people to feel comfortable. She reminded him of his cousin, Amy.

Adalyn raised her eyebrows when he sounded suprised, it should have been excepted but it really wasn't. "Yeah, I'm the singer," she told him. She never could see all the people in the crowd but she never bothered to look that hard anyways. Watching as the battle began to calm down she wondered what else the universe had planned for her today. "You're welcome to come next time it's in a few nights from now. Just asked David, um pretty sure he's a 7th year, if you see him around when it is, if he asks I sent you for details," she told as she never had a clue when people were invited down to listen to their jams. Adalyn suprised herself by talking so much, but it was always easier to open her mouth and talk around older people. Of course it was better when the person spoke Italian then she never shut up.

Jack smiled at her again. "Thanks. An invitation from the singer, an honour." He said with a smile. He was pleased that he had been invited, it made him feel like he had made a new friend. He watched the dying battle and then saw the two boys go off in different directions, their friends stuck in the middle unsure of whom to follow. Smirking lightly, he smiled at her again. "Have you got a free period?" He asked, wondering why she wasn't making her way to another lesson like the rest of the students seemed to be doing.

Adalyn nodded in reponse to him most people said similar things when she had been sent out to invite them to listen. "Sure thing," she responded to him. Looking at the friends who had stayed put she peeled herself from the wall. "Yeah I do," she told him. She had been planning on using the period to write down some lyrics that had been floating around in her head. Though maybe now somethign more exciting was going to happen if she stayed with Jack. Adalyn didn't feel very attracted to him, not really getting a crush but that was because she was used to being around guys his age, she had dated quite a few already this year. They never stayed around long, once they realized she wasn't going to do anything with them, she was catholic and it was her choice to save herself till marriage.

Jack smiled at her simple response. "Have you got something to do or do you want to go and get a drink and chat?" He asked, wondering what she had in mind if she refused his offer. He was really tired, but chatting to someone nice would be fun and he was interested in what this girl was like, he wasn't really sure of her character yet and thought it would be a challenge for him to know her better. He hadn't even thought of doing something suspicious like that, he didn't view her in that way. She was pretty, yes, but he thought she would make a better friend rather than a date.

"Well I was going to go write some lyrics but they wouldn't interest you much. I only write in Italian, one the bandmates translate it for me. I can't get ahold of the English writing system," she said shrugging her shoulder not caring either way now. The lyrics would continue to float around her head and write themshelves and she already knew plenty of upperclassman but it never hurt knowing another. Adalyn was usingmore words now but she still felt conicous incase something came out wrong or if she said something wrong.

Jack smiled at her again. "You speak Italian? Obviously very well." He said with a slight smirk at the memory of his attrocious language in Italian. His parents had attempted to teach it to him, but he hadn't really paid much attention to them and only knew the basics. He would be hopeless if she could speak it fluently, but he could have a go at the basic idea of it all. He noticed that her answers were slowly becoming longer and longer and he liked this change, thinking it one for the better.

Adalyn glanced at him witha smirk on her face. "I am Italian, live in Roma," she told him wondering how he hadn't picked up on her being Italian from her accent. Though she was good at making it sound like she was from England, but that was how they learned in muggle schools. Walking out into the hall she looked back at Jack to see if he was going to join her, as it was his idea to go and get a drink.

Jack laughed silently to himself at his own stupidity. "Yeh.... ok." He said, laughing out-loud now. Her accent seemed correct now. He had instantly just assumed that it was a bad British one, because everyone in the school seemed to speak differently. He raised his eyebrows at her, wondering why she was leaving. Remembering then that he had suggested drinks, he smiled and followed her. "This way." He said, leading her in the opposite direction to a quiet room that was generally used by the older students to study in. However, they were all gone now, probably flirting with random girls or chatting to their girlfriends, the normal things they did when they didn't have anything to do. He sat back into a sofa and smiled at Adalyn, wondering what drink she would like. "What drink?" He asked, puling out his wand and preparing to summon them from the kitchens.

Adalyn laughed slightly at his answer. Following him down into a room she instantly reconized it, having been dragged there multiple times but never bothering to remember where it is. "Oh anything, it doesn't matter," she told him sitting on the opposite end of the couch while putting her feet up between them so she was facing him. Glancing around she noticed a few things had changed from the last time she was there, though everything else was the same, it was a basic room for studying.

Jack laughed again at her casual character. He flicked his wand and 2 butterbeers came flying through the room. He personally would have preferred a firewhiskey from his own store, but he knew from past experiences that girls older than Adalyn didn't like it, so he wouldn't bother them. However, Adalyn seemed different from those other girls and he wondered why. He floated it towards her with his wand and noticed her feet on the couch. Smirking lightly, he smiled and handed it to her.

Adalyn leaned forward and took the butterbeer from him with a smirk. She was suprised that it was just butterbeer and not firewhiskey or someother drink that would get them intoxicated. Being underaged in most countries she didn't mind the light drink though back home it would be easy to have an alcoholic drink if her parents were around, even if they weren't. He didn't say anything which made the air stale with silence and she looked around for something to talk about. She ended up looking down at her long legs she had decided to cover, just barely, with netted leggings. "So, seeing anyone lately?" She asked knowing how the older guys went through girls to fast sometimes. Adalyn wondered if Jack was the same type, afterall he was here with her even though he wasn't her type, but he didn't know that. He could possibly think he had a chance with her, a youngie desprit for a boyfriend; but that type of girl wasn't her.

Jack smirked and took a sip of the butterbeer. Frowning in disgust, he tried to remember why he ever liked it. It had used to be his favourite drink when he was younger, but now he was older, he preferred the stronger taste of fire-whiskey. He flicked his wand again and got rid of his own drink. Leaving hers, he flicked it again at the door and his own fire-whiskey came in. Smiling at it, he took a drink and smiled as the familiar shock taste hit his throat. Shaking his head slightly, he made a mental note not to drink any more than 3 glasses, knowing that after that, he would probably begin to get tipsy and then do something that he regretted. "Me? Yeh, ive got a girlfriend. Gwen, in her 5th year. Very pretty, blonde hair and very blue eyes." He said, smiling at the thought and memory of his beautiful girlfriend. He had a sinking feeling that it wouldn't last forever, but for now, he would make the most of it. He liked her a lot, and from the way she showed it, he didn't think it was a one-way thing. "You?" He responded, thinking that he was safe now, now that he had asked Gwen and she had accepted.

Adalyn watched as he sipped his drink and ended up getting a different drink, from what she could smell in the air it was a much stronger one most likely firewhiskey. Eying her own drink she placed it on the table deciding against drinking the butterbeer, seeing if he would offer her the firewhiskey or not. "Oh really? I don't know her. Though there are plenty of blondes with blue eyes around," she said flicking a piece of her own long blonde hair. Playing with the tips of her hair she thought about his question, she hadn't seen anyone in a few months which actually suprised her. "No one at the moment, but there isn't really anyone worth seeing. The one guy I have kissed recently is in love with someother girl who is dating some seventh year, or something," she said waving her hand like she was pushing the thought away, but then agai she didn't really care.

Jack listened to her response and unsure of what to say, he sipped his own fire whiskey. It was only then that he noticed she had put hers down on the table. He wondered if it displeased her. "Would you like a different drink? Fire whiskey? Pumpkin juice?" He asked, almost mocking her age towards the end of the statement. She was underage no matter how mature she acted so he didn't want her to get too drunk. He shouldn't even be allowing her to drink the drink, but if she asked for it, then that was her problem. She was also probably more used to it than most people her age because of the older students that she obviously hung around with. "Oh right. Who was he?" He asked casually, wondering if he knew of the guy in question.

Adalyn looked down at her drink when her offered her two choices. The first sounded good but he mocked her with his second which she didn't like that he did so. "Firewhiskey is fine," she told him, not bothering to explain how she had at least two cups every weekend night when the band was working together, more even if they were playing a gig. Adalyn had to think back on the guys name, she had really pushed him out since he completely disregarded her as someone who was interested in him. "Oh Alois Eisler, or something like that. Wouldn't tell me who the girl was but he is fixed. He wishes he had met her before she met that guy who she's dating now. I told him to get over her but he wouldn't listen and get it in his head so I kissed him, but he was still fixed on her so I left," she said shrugging her shoulders still waiting on the firewhiskey from him.

Jack nodded and noticed her ignoring his other comment. He flicked his wand as Adalyn was talking and waited for the drink to appear. His jaw clenched as the name came out. He had a feeling who it was, and sadly, his fears had been confirmed. But, now he would need to go and talk to this boy. Firstly, the unknown guy dated his cousin, and then he spent a night with Jack's girlfriend, and now he ignored the pretty girl sitting in front of Jack. Feeling a sudden anger come upon him, Jack clenched his fists to stop him lashing out at the nearest thing, Adalyn. Feeling bad that the last guy that this girl had kissed had completely ignored her, he smirked and realised that if he wasn't dating another girl currently, he would kiss her to make it better. As these thoughts went through his mind, the firewhiskey appeared at the door and with a distracted flick of his wand, he sent it towards Adalyn.

Adalyn watched as Jack tensed up and became angry when she told him the name of the guy. "Oh do you know him or something?" She asked as she still trying to figure out what the guys deal was, Alois that is. Glancing over at the door she saw the drink coming towards her and she held out her hand to grab it from the air, but Jack must have miscalculated and it passed her hand and tipped right over on to her. With a loud gasp she stood up the firewhickey shoaking through her clothing. Adalyn was glad that today she had decided to wear a shirt and shorts instead of the long t-shirt dresses her brother made her out of a overly large one. Of course those were just basically large to get the length to go past her privates and then fitted close around her, usually white band shirts. Looking down at Jack her mouth was open in shock. "What the heck," she exclaimed to him.
