It was an average day. The temperature was neither too hot, nor too cold, which was very good. Rosalie was sitting in an attic bedroom with her good friend. Playing muggle game consoles was a rather unique passion of hers, at least it was until she met the guy sitting next to her. They were both really quiet and had been paired to work on an assignment, which had been rather funny considering neither was a big talker. That was of course until Batman found his voice and now he would say whatever was on his mind without a thought about who it might affect. She didn't mind though, she was like that too, although only in her head. She was far too shy to ever voice her thoughts aloud. Unless she was talking to him. Then of course she would speak her mind. At least partially anyway. Her mind was a place that she didn't like people to be and she rather preferred to keep it that way. She couldn't have traffic in and out of her head all the time. That would just get confusing. Her mind was a quiet place, a place that she could do and say what she wanted and not be interrupted by anyone else.

Rose smiled beside her to the boy sitting there and set up the next game. He was beating her for the most part, but she was sure she would get him any minute now. She was good at this, but she kept getting distracted when he said something and would take her eyes away from the screen for a second, he would take over her lead and then stay there. She pouted and picked her stats and started the game. Mario Cart wasn't exactly a hard game to play and it would be ridiculous if she lost to the amount she was undoubtedly going to. Though it was fun to see that triumphant look he would get on his face by beating her. "Come on. Just let me win one game?" She asked, taking off in about third place. Though she was not going to stay there for too long as for the third time in about fifteen minutes, Batman's mother walked into the room. She made an effort to talk to them for a moment before Batman sent her away again and Rose giggled, turning her attention back to the game and sticking her tongue out of her mouth slightly as she did when she was trying to concentrate. She was not going to lose this time, no matter what!

Much to his surprise, Batman was on a winning streak. He'd never been a fan of racing games, since he usually lost. However today his racing skills had taken a turn for the better. He'd won every race so far, even while being distracted. But what he didn't expect was Rose to be losing so bad. Hadn't she learnt a thing about video games since they'd been friends? Batman shook his head, picking his stats for the next race entirely confident he'd win once more. He always played with Yoshi, since it was the least annoying character in the game. Why Rose always chose Peach he'd never understand. Maybe it was just a girl thing. Rose's next words startled him. Let her win? Heck no. There's no way he'd let himself lose to her, not now that he was over excited he'd beat her in the first place. But before he had the chance to say no, his mum entered the room for what felt like the millionth time that day. The worst part was no matter how many times he politely told her to leave, she never got the picture. They didn't want snacks, or juice, or anything. This being the reason he shouted at her to leave, throwing a pillow at the door as she did so. Luckily, Batman managed to pause the race before it was too late. Now they could continue playing like nothing happened.
Batman turned his cap backwards, flashing his friend a mischievous smile. "There's no friendship in Mario cart!" He exclaimed as the game continued. If she thought he'd go easy on her because they were best friends, she was wrong. Not her, or any other cute blue haired girl would make him think otherwise.

Rosalie rolled her eyes when Batman told her that there was no friendship in Mario Kart. She was beginning to believe him at this point to be totally honest, but did that mean he had to be a stinking bully about it? She growled slightly and turned her attention to the screen, to her utter surprise she was about a spot ahead of him in the ranking. She smiled gleefully and tapped her controller to make Peach speed even further ahead. Maybe she would actually be able to win this one. She was excited because she did like winning and she didn't understand how Batman could be so vicious. She dropped a few turtle bombs along the road and discreetly watched him from the corner of her eyes. He had turned his cap backwards, which meant her means business. Rose glared at him slightly before shooting a mushroom his way. He was steadily gaining on her and the only way she would lose him now was to crash him into a wall, or perhaps anther cart? At this point, Rose couldn't help wishing that his mother would drop back in and talk to them, then she could at least get a little further away before he remembered to pause the game.

Rose giggled slightly as she turned a corner and could see the finish line in sight. However, just as she was about to make the jump, Batman came out with the strangest thing. "Whaa?" She looked at their shoulders and dropped the remote she had been holding. It hit the ground with a thud and she hid her head in her jacket to hide her red face. She moved her shoulder away slightly. Why the hell did he say that!? She couldn't believe him, she was so embarrassed. This is what she got for coming to his house! What is wrong with him! She continued to keep her face hidden but spoke through her jacket. "B! That's not something you should say to people, least of all a girl!"

Batman was fully aware Rose had dropped her controller and hidden behind her jacket, conversely he didn't care. Nor did he care how embarrassed he had made her. It was all part of his ploy to win the race, though as he crossed the finish line first he sarcastically cheered for himself as if hinting to Rose winning wasn't worth making her so embarrassed. Yes, he was on a winning streak and didn't want to lose but winning got so tedious after a while. He suddenly remembered how boring racing games could be. The boy momentarily glanced in his friend's direction to find her still hidden in her jacket. Was she angry? Scared? Annoyed he'd ignored her reaction just to win a stupid race? .

Rosalie remained hidden under her jacket as Batman continued playing the game, utterly ignoring her. She found herself pouting at this fact and she grew all the more angry the longer he went without even acknowledging her. She kept her face hidden by her jacket however, because she was still getting over his earlier comment about their shoulders. She still couldn't believe he had said that. Did he possess no Brain to Mouth filter. She sighed, B was definitely getting on the loud side. Sometimes he annoyed her, this was one on those moments. He finished the game and started calling her name. She ignored him and buried her head further into her jacket. He had been ignoring her, now she was going to ignore him. He started to poke her and she continued to ignore him. Though it was irritating her. Eventually he gave up poking her and suddenly announced that all she needed was a hug. She stopped breathing suddenly. He wasn't going to hug her was he? She tensed up when he hug her and found herself going bright red again. Ugh! Why does this keep happening, it's too embarrassing to show my face. I keep going red! She complained, trying to ignore how comfortable she felt with Batman's arms around her. It was not something she should be thinking about, especially when he was hugging her so tightly. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to do at this point.

He spoke again and Rose could not stop herself from smiling, she was just going to have to continue to ignore him in that case. Besides, she missed her usual hugs from Batman, seeing as school hadn't started back yet, she missed his morning breakfast hugs. Though he tried not to let anyone see him hugging her, he may be nice to her on occasion, but he was still a butthead. Eventually she felt him moving around and peeked under her jacket to find out what on earth he was doing. Eventually she saw him pull his jacket out from under the bed and speak, before dumbing it on her and hugging her again. She squealed slightly as it got even darker and started to try and pull the jackets off from her face, so that she could breath. When she finally managed to breath some fresh air, instead of the stale air under the jackets, she looked at Batman and frowned. Her cheeks were heated, her hair was a mess and he was still hugging her. She secretly did not want him to let go, but she didn't want the awkwardness of him mother walking in either, not with the way she was looking right now. She cleared her throat and raised her eyebrow to him. "Uh, B, you can let go now. I'm not ignoring you any more." However, she could not bring herself to stop smiling.

"Wanna watch a movie?" The change of subject was abrupt but it was the only thing he could think of that would keep him from getting more annoyed. Before Rose could answer he'd already picked a movie and set it up to play. Spite his earlier question he wouldn't give her a choice in the matter, because he wanted a distraction.

Batman owned a lot of movies, most of which he hadn't watched. The movie he just put on was one of them. In fact, he didn't even know what it was about since the title was in French. “I've never seen this before, it better not be boring." He mused before walking to his bed, retrieving his blanket in case he dosed off. He had a habit of falling asleep during boring movies. At least with a blanket it made more sense. The beginning of the movie was just as tedious as the next half hour, and before he knew it Batman had trouble keeping his eyes open. He yawned, resting his head against Rose's shoulder. It felt like they'd been watching for hours, but in reality it had only been forty minutes. He knew if he fell asleep the movie would be over in the blink of an eye, but he refrained from doing so. Rose would be annoyed otherwise. He just needed to pay attention no matter how boring the movie got. This would definitely be a challenge.
.

ooc: blah, sorry about the wait and the unquality but i wanted to move this forward ♥

Rose rolled her eyes at her best friends antics. She was a little annoyed that he was acting like a child, but what could she expect from some-one like him. After all he was a seventeen year old boy, she was a little surprised that he wasn't just thinking about sex all the time. He had only done such a thing so that she would lose the race, that was true, but that didn't mean that she had to be any happier about it. Rose rushed to fix her hair and calm herself down before Batman picked up on the obvious sexual tension in the air. It was a well known fact that Batman was oblivious to most things, but sometimes he picked up on them. Rose picked herself up and wrapped the blankets around her arm before depositing them on the bed. If she was to watch a movie, she was going to do it in some relative notion of comfort. She did like movies, though she usually preferred her anime movies and such. But that didn't really matter at this point in time, she supposed. Her own parents barely paid any attention to her, if she were at home, she would not have to worry about any parents walking in on a potentially awkward moment. As it was, Rose was sure that she could hear Batman's mother hanging around outside, just waiting to walk in on them doing something. Of course, Rose was sure that it would not come to that business anyway. She would not allow it. "I don't know why you even ask for my opinion any more. It's not like I really get a choice when it comes to things you want to do. I don't know why I even bother with all of this to be honest." Rose pouted as she laid across the spread she had made and attempted to get herself comfortable. She loved spending time with her friend, but that didn't mean that she didn't miss her own room on occasion.

Rose ran her fingers through her hair. She didn't recognise the cover, though it was in French, the writing was too small to make out from where she was sitting. She nodded when he spoke again and she had to wonder if he had now jinxed it. It made sense that he somehow now would have picked the most boring and stupid movie in his collection. Heck, he couldn't even read the title! The movie started, and Rose snuggled with one of the pillows that was not already on use and leaned against the wall. She could tell already that this movie was some fifties hack from way back. Around seventy years old. Rose sighed and pulled her knees up to her chest to rest her head on them. She was intent on not falling asleep, though unfortunately she was not sure that it was going to keep her from falling asleep. Rose turned her head slightly when she felt something on her shoulder. As it turned out, it was Batman, and she proceeded to rest her own head atop his, keeping her eyes glued to the screen. She was determined that she would not fall asleep, however, as the movie progressed, Rose noted that the screen was getting darker and the only conclusion was that she was becoming tired and that she was falling asleep.

After what felt like a million years, the movie finished. Finally. Batman still had no idea what it was about, but it had a lot of scenes of some sad religious dude in a library. He didn't gain anything from the movie, except the realization how goddamn boring the fifties was. A sigh escaped his lips, he moved to stretch but Rose's head atop his kept him from doing so. He couldn't move without disturbing her. He knew she was asleep, he fell asleep for a while there too. Problem was he had woken up first. "Rose." He whispered her name. A failed attempt to wake her up. He sighed once more, deciding to give up on a gentle approach and stretch anyway.
He stood up, and put the movie, game console and controllers away. He hoped by the time he finished packing up Rose would have woken up on her own. Batman returned to Rose's side, disappointed to find out she was in fact still asleep. The movie really was that boring. Before he had the chance to realize, he leaned in close to her. “Can I kiss you?”

Cue the dream sequence xD
Rose was sitting in a library, her head stuck in a book. She didn't know what library this was, it was unfamiliar to her. There was something odd about the place but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Then it hit her as she looked down at her hair, which should have been blue, was now colourless, or rather, everything was in black and white. Was this a spell? What was happening? She stood up and placed her book on the table. The last thing she remembered was watching that black and white French movie from the fifties and then... what had happened after that? Had she fallen asleep? Was she dreaming right now? Was that it? She continued to walk along the corridors of the enormous French library, the walls and floors seemingly stretching out beneath her as she walked. It was the strangest sensation and she was aware of someone calling her name, almost like a whisper. It felt like someone was right next to her and she kept going to turn her head before she realised that she was alone in the library and would stop herself from turning. She continued on along the corridor, ignoring the urge to turn her head to the whispered name in her ear. It was a voice she knew, she knew it well, but she couldn't place it, it was slightly distorted. Was that because she was tired? Who was calling her? She turned to the sound of the noise and suddenly she was falling. She didn't know why she was falling and she found it curious that she was not scared by it. That was interesting. She sort of felt like Alice in Wonderland, having chased after a white rabbit, except Rose's white rabbit had been a voice calling her name. One she still did not quite place.

Rose opened her eyes drearily. Someone was shaking her shoulder. Who was shaking her shoulder. She wished they would stop. Rose yawned and turned her head to look up, the light was glaring in her eyes from the bulb on the ceiling, but she was able to make out the shape of the person shaking her. She brought her hands up to her eyes and rubbed them softly, yawning again. "B. Uhn, what time is it? Did I fall asleep?" She asked from where she was perched on the ground. Wait, why was she on the ground? "Coma?" She repeated rather dumbly, her eyes suddenly snapping open as she noticed her best friend coming closer to her. She wasn't sure what he was doing, but for some reason, she also didn;t want to move. She closed her eyes when he kissed her jaw and found that she had held her breath during the encounter. How had a simple game date, turned into this? He kissed her again and she had to place her hands on his arms to stop herself from toppling over. This was so weird. She had never expected this coming over here today and she was sure she should be telling him to stop it, but she neither wanted to, nor could she. She opened her eyes and looked up at him. She smiled, this was an amazing feeling. Whatever this was, whatever they were doing, it felt right. She pulled herself up into a better sitting position and pulled him closer to her, crushing his lips against hers. He had never called her cute before. Adorable yes, but never cute. If they were going to do this, they were going to do it properly. Not some half assed, whatever it was B was doing.

Batman didn't expect Rose to be so assertive. Truth be told, he didn't expect anything that was happening. This was supposed to be a game date, he expected them to be gaming. They should be gaming right now. Instead they were caught up in each other, intertwined in a heated make out session. This was so surreal, almost like a dream. A really freakin' awesome dream. Wait, was this really happening? Maybe he was the one that didn't wake up after the movie, and it was all a dream. It did seem too good to be true. Batman fought the sudden urge to pinch himself. If this was a dream, he sure as hell didn't want to wake himself up just yet. Batman pulled away, using the brief moment of separation to catch his breath. Did Rose know she was such a good kisser? He wasn't about to tell her. He was afraid he would kill the mood if he said anything. Were they actually going to take the next step? The idea was certainly out there. Most of their friendship barriers had already been demolished now anyway. Whether or not they would actually go through with this, he still wasn't sure. Batman's eyes flicked to the bed and back to Rose. Consequently, the bed was where they ended up. There's no way they could go back to being 'just friends' anymore.</SIZE>

A few hours later, Batman woke up. Now he knew why he thought that was a dream. Because now he'd woken up. The very idea of him and Rose, Rose and him, it was too far fetched. They were best friends. There's no way Batman would want to ruin that. Rose was probably the only girl he could be himself around, he never needed to impress her and wanted to keep it that way. Batman yawned and turned over, immediately being confronted with a mess of blue hair. Instinctively, he moved away from Rose. He hadn't been dreaming, the fact Rose was asleep in his bed was evidence enough. He had no idea if she had fallen asleep, but was more focused on the fact they just ruined their friendship in one afternoon. This was all so much to process, and he was too sleepy to process it. The whole situation was unbelievably confusing and stressful. All Batman wanted to do was close his eyes, and pretend this never happened. Unfortunately he couldn't weed his way out of this and he knew it.

<SIZE size="50">ooc: blah. my apologies.

The activities of a few hours before rushed through Rose's head like a wasted night. She couldn't believe what they had done. At the time it had seemed like a good idea, but now. Now she just wanted to crawl into the corner of the room, cover herself in blankets and stay there for ever. She could feel Batman stirring beside her and she closed her eyes. They were clothed, barely, but enough that she didn't feel like she had to cover herself in the duvet and sheets, which she really wanted to do anyway. Right now, she was going through the four stages of regret. One, the confusion. Why had she done it, she had the power to stop it at every interval, but she hadn't. Two, the realisation. She knew what they had done, and she knew why and it made her feel cheap somehow, like she owed it to herself for this to have been better prepared or even classier. But it wasn't and she knew why. Three, self-blame. It was her fault this had happened. She should have been firm, she should have never allowed this to escalate to where it had, but she had just gone along with it because it had felt good and she had found herself unable to say no to him. She sighed, she was at the final stage, the stage of regret. She didn't want to admit it really, but she wished this had never happened, she wanted it to go away, but she knew it never would. This was a cross that they would have to bare. Merlin, what was his mother going to say. Was she here? Was she in the house? Rose shuddered to think what she thought if she was. It was a terrifying thought.

She finally opened her eyes again, but she refused to look at her not just friend at all. She didn't think she would be able to ever look him in the eye again without remembering this moment. Merlin! Why did they go and have to wreck their friendship like this? Who was she kidding? This was never going to work. They were both way to young and way to stupid for anything to ever come of this. She sighed and rolled herself off of the bed and began to walk around the room collecting her clothes and other things. The best thing she could think to do, was just to get out of here. Get out of here and hope that she could just bury it somewhere deep in her memory where she would never see it again. That was all she could think to do. This was so confusing and she didn't understand any of the emotions running around in her head right now. She just wanted to go home to her bed and crawl into it and stay there until she was old and grey. That would make everything better. Everything. She sighed and crawled towards the bed looking for her shoe. How the h3ll did it get under the bed anyway?

<SIZE size="50">Batman finally decided to get out of bed and get dressed. Suffocating himself with one of his pillows was all he wanted to do right now, but he needed to get Rose out of here. If he was going to lie in bed and rot for the rest of his life he didn't want her around to see it. He needed to be the strong one right now, or at least pretend to be strong until she walked out the door. Rose seemed more stressed out about this than he was, if that was even possible. The last thing he wanted was to make her feel worse. "You should probably go now." He pulled his jeans and hoodie back on. It may have sounded harsh, but in his eyes getting Rose out of here was the only option. If they could get away from each other the awkwardness would subside. They had plenty of time to talk about it later, but Batman wanted to deal with his own feelings first. He quickly made his bed, avoiding any and all eye contact with his best friend. Were they still best friends? He wasn't even sure. If they recovered from this at all, it still wouldn't be the same. One thing was for sure though, he didn't want to lose Rose. That would be like losing family and he didn't want to go through that again. Without a doubt he'd fight to the death to keep their friendship alive. Sooner or later they would have to deal with this, but that day wasn't today. In the meantime Batman was going to avoid the problem for as long as he could.

He walked over to the bedroom door and opened it. "You know the way out." He expected her to leave on her own. This way he didn't have to spend more time being uncomfortable around her. She'd been to his place many times before, it's not like she had no idea where the front door was. Batman sighed. "I'm sorry." He apologized as if it made a difference, as if it would lessen the emotional toll weighing them both down. It certainly didn't change a thing, especially not his guilt. He just wanted her to leave already and pretend like this never happened.

ooc: total poop. i'm sorry.
