Lola had heard them. Telling stories to their friends, making things up or just reading. Lola had picked them to start this. Her brother had started one back home with his friends and Lola before she had gotten to go to Hogwarts had sat in on a few storytellings. She would have gotten in too if she hadn't had to go away for school right before her chance to tell her story. There where woods here, much creeper woods than the ones near her home, woods with real danger in them. What was a Gryffendor to do but go into them at night. She had brought things with her, food and stuff in case anything attacked or intruded. She had sent out the owls to the people that she knew would want to come for either the stories or for the fun of sneaking out of the school at night.

Lola looked around a clearing that she had found during her explorations in the day, her wand tip lit so she could see where she was going. This spot would do nicely. Lola used her wand to move some logs into place then took a jar from her pocket. She had dared one of the older students to conjurer it for her. Who said being annoying didn't have it's perks. Lola set it in the middle of the log circle that she had made and waited. She hoped that the others would come for the first meeting of the Midnight Society.

To listen to a story was one thing, but telling an intriguing story and keeping an audience captivated was a whole other art form, Arielle wanted to perfect this and in that interest, she had received a curious owl about something titled 'the midnight society'. This captivated the second year, the art of storytelling would be a wonderful pursuit from her usual art, which was none other than clothing design, learning something new was an exciting endeavour for the young girl, it would make her time more valuable during the day, but in this case it was night. This didn't surprise Arielle, the group's name was enough of a hint already. In all honesty, Arielle didn't quite know what story she would tell if she had the chance, she was more interested in what other people had to say for a change. The Slytherin's plan for the first meeting was to stay quiet and try to analyse the other group members, this fortunate idea paved the way for Arielle to keep her big mouth shut for once and take away any risk of offending somebody else with her harshly honest words.

The location for the meeting was the Forbidden Forest, a setting that suited what the society was all about in Arielle's opinion. The twelve year old would have usually gotten lost within the mass of trees that lay around her, especially in the dark. But Arielle had a stroke of luck that night and followed a small light to find Lola, the girl that had invited her to this gathering, sitting on one of the logs around her. The second year's confidence showed itself and Arielle walked over to Lola and sat down next to her. The blonde casually smiled at Lola before asking "Has anybody else arrived yet?" her French accent making itself evident once again. From what she had noticed in the surroundings so far, she judged that she had been the first to arrive, but it could never hurt to ask.

Siddalee Simon had loved stories since she was a child. She was firm in the belief that everyone's lives were just stories, and that everyone had a story to tell. Stories took many forms - anecdotes told to friends, books, movies, TV shows, plays, operas, even art, dance and music always had a story behind it.
Yes, stories were one of Sidda's specialties, and sneaking around Hogwarts after hours was another. She had become a bit of a pro at it during her five years at Hogwarts, which meant that she was excited by the owl she got from a girl she did not know, inviting her to be a founding member of "The Midnight Society".
Sidda felt like she was in the middle of a mystery novel.

On the night appointed, she donned her cloak, bought specially for this purpose, and crept down to the entrance hall quietly. Her sneaking skills meant that it was easy for her to follow another girl, who seemed to be heading the same way. From a safe distance, all Sidda could tell was that she was blond, and was heading down to the Forest. She kept her distance, waiting until she had been in a clearing that looked promising for a moment or two before entering herself. There were only two girls there - the blond and another, both sitting on logs surrounding a fire. She whispered, "Nox" before plonking herself down on a log nearby. "So, I'm guessing that this is the Midnight Society. I'm Siddalee, but you can call me Sidda or Lee. Gryffindor. Fifth Year. But I guess one of you knew that, didn't you?" she said, drawing her hood back from her face.

It was dark. It was scary. It was forbidden.

In short it was epic.

Warren was currently trekking through the Forbidden Forest. Using the lumos charm to navigate through the deep underbrush. However, it was moments like these that he wished he thought ahead a bit more. See, Warren was following the instructions he received from a mysterious note…

(Flashblack… so imagine the whole deal used on tv shows like fading out into white)

Warren had been walking around campus. He wasn’t doing anything in particular, but he had felt pent up indoors for much to long. So while on his journey outside he had been detouring through the hallways with large open windows. And amidst the shuffle of students, he noticed a note on the ground. It was in an envelope which had been opened. Warren assumed some poor student dropped it, and decided that it would be a great adventure to go about and return it. So he opened the letter expecting to find a name of some sort. Instead it was an invitation to a group called, the Midnight Society.

“Well… Lame name.” Warren thought to himself. “But epic concept. Why would anyone drop this letter?” Out of selfishness, and possibly inspired by those darned Slytherins (such bad examples), Warren decided to keep the invitation for himself. Sure he wasn’t a Gryfindor. And adventuring through the forbidden forest at night was just a tad out of his comfort zone. However, how could anyone pass this up.

Which led Warren back to the question… why did someone pass this up. It was almost too good to be true. “Holy poop its too good to be true.” Warren thought to himself. “This is totally some evil prank to get a poor kid lost and scared shitless out in the middle of the forest.”

Suddenly, Warren understood why someone left the letter. It may very well be a prank.

“So what do I do?” Warren was standing in the bright Hogwarts hallway ignoring the hustle and bustle to give full attention to this letter.

“If it’s a prank… What do I really lose? I might get in trouble with staff. Lose some house points. Or…” Big gulp. “Die because of some horrible monster. But if its not a prank I lose out on one of the coolest things a person can do. Plus, a new group of friends.” Warren thought about these facts. The only reason he found the letter was cause he really didn’t have many friends around campus, and it has been making his days very mutinous, and well… boring. “I’m gonna do this.” Warren said out-loud excitedly!

(End of flashback)

Warren realized that despite the cool sounding ideas in the letter. It didn’t really direct him into how he should meet up with everyone else. So this left Warren wandering through this horrible forrest. Jumping at the slightest creek and sound, and constantly swatting away mosquitoes. “The next spell I learn better be a bug repellent spell.” Warren thought to himself.

“Oh wait I know one.” He pulled out his wand, aimed at himself, “Repello mosquitoes!”

Being bug free was a nice feeling. And something about getting rid of this constant nuisance gave Warren a slight bit of clarity.

Then some animal snapped a twig and Warren nearly jumped out of his skin in response. After collecting himself again, he noticed a flickering light n the distance, and decided to follow it. Before he knew it Warren was at the campsite and saw three girls.

“Hello there! My name’s Warren nice to meet you!”

So I figured this would be a good way to explain anyone who wants to join the society later. They could have just been the original owner of the letter.

Lola watched the woods as the ones she had invited trickled in well two of them. First was her Slytherin friend. "Yeah your the first to get here. Hope you are ready for this Crape Zuset." Lola said with a wide smile. She was teasing Arielle so she would talk a little more. Lola knew she was a cool girl if not a little acidic but cool. Lola looked up when something cracked only to see the older girl that she had invited.

"Hey Lee! I did, I knew. I head you talking one day and though that maybe you'd like to be a part of this!" Lola yelled as she ran up to the upper classmen and started jumping in front of her as if she had just eaten a pound of sugar. Now that they had her, she wouldn't need to annoy anyone into getting her the fire, Siddalee could do it. "Hope your going to stay I really do." She said happily.

Lola looked at the boy and narrowed her eyes. "Hey weren't invited." She said as she walked up to him and exsamened him. She walked around him in a circle then got really close to his face. "You'll do Mr. Puff and Stuff!" She cried in a sing song voice. She hadn't planned on him being here but she had seen him in class. She knew that Warren wasn't telling anyone.

The was no doubt in the blonde's mind that Lola wanted her to talk more, Arielle was usually a social person and would end up talking for hours if somebody would listen. It was unfortunate on that night, Arielle didn't have a story to tell, not an interesting one, and especially not one that would make her sound like a nice person. She was a Slytherin after all and she fit the Slytherin stereotype well, the only thing different about that night was she was trying not to say anything stupid. "Bring it on." Replied the second year, showing small evidence of a playful smile. Acting kind wasn't something the Slytherin was used to but she would do it for the sake of this group.

The second year observed the other two students was they arrived, giving them both a nod of acknowledgement and a warm smile, everybody there was so young, with the exception of the fifth year, it made the blonde wonder if any good stories would be told that night. In the wizarding world, nothing was certain, the other students could have funny and enchanting stories to share, or they could have a life like her, boring and uneventful. Arielle loved France and she knew if she hadn't moved, she would have numerous stories to tell from various Paris fashion weeks, it made the Slytherin despise the move even more whenever she thought about leaving her favourite country.

It was bit nerve wracking. Just crashing a group chilling by a fire in the forest. I mean, he really wasn’t brave enough to do the walk back out of the forest if they kicked him out. So of course when Warren heard,

“Hey you weren’t invited”

Well… he went as pale as ghost (arguably more pale, but less translucent). He could have sworn he walked face first into a spider’s web. Which for anyone who has completed said act, understands the only rational behaviour is to jump around like crazy, swatting at your face to prevent the spider from attacking you.

However, all of Warren’s tensions were releived when Lola said, “You’ll do Mr. Puff and Stuff.”

He actually kind of liked the nickname. Puff’s were kinda known as the not good enough to get in any of the other houses kids. But saying I was a puff and stuff kind of implied he had a little something more to offer.

He sauntered over to a log near the fire, and sat down. “Mr. Puff and Stuff will do, or you know… my name. Its Warren by the way!” He said that last part to the whole group but especially the fifth year who hadn’t met yet. “I see we have Lola, and Arielle, Comment Ca-va? But I’ve never actually met you he said while doing an awkward little head nod to point at the older Gryffindor.

Amberly had recently gotten an owl for a Midnight Society group and had known it was her new friend Lola who had arranged it. It was supposed to be a group of students who met at midnight, of course, to tell scary stories and Amberly was not going to chicken out of this exciting experience. She was going to live up to the characteristics of the house she had been sorted into. When the rest of her roommates were asleep Amberly pulled back the covers of her bed and tipped toed out into the common room and then out of there as well. She hadn't found Lola in her bed so she figured the Gryffindor had already headed out, probably to set things up or something.

Amberly crept down the stairs of the castle cautiously, glad she hadn't gotten caught out of bed and once she was outdoors she made a sprint for the forest to put as much space between her and the castle to further avoid any Professors of Prefects. Once she felt she was far enough away she slowed to a walk to catch her breath and continued on her way to the Forest. Finally she reached the entrance, the Gryffindor girl looked over her shoulder, that moment of doubt and fear clouding her but she bravely continued on. Immediately she could tell the difference between the Forest and out, it had gotten way darker because of the thick trees overhead so the second year pulled out her yew wand and muttered "Lumos," before continuing on her way. Soon she began shivering, since she had forgotten her cloak and didn't think it would be that cold since it was Spring, though she suspected the temperature drop had to do with the Forest as well.

Having never been in the Forest before, it didn't take long for Amberly to get lost and soon she felt like she was going in circles. She grumbled to herself as she tripped over another unseen log and wished she would've left Gryffindor Tower with Lola as her teeth chattered the whole time. Finally she thought she could hear voices that belonged to students so she did her best to follow them. At last she found a clearing and emerged from the trees happily crying out, "I found it!" a little too loudly. "Oops sorry," she giggled, putting a hand over her mouth to cover up her mouth though she was still a bit unnaturally loud. "I got lost and thought I was going to have to turn back around and go to the castle!" she explained with a sigh, brushing some twigs out of her mushroom styled hair and giggling again as she took a seat on a log. "I'm Amberly by the way," she introduced herself to the entire group, speaking louder than usual so everyone would hear her though even a whisper could've been heard in the forest. Sometimes it even amazed herself that she spoke so much or so fast considering English wasn't her native language, but she had studied English the most of her sisters and her Korean accent was hardly noticeable if at all.
