If anything was clear to him, his life was far simpler since that night at Tara's. He'd only stayed a few days, finally finding himself a place to live that suited him in size and in proximity to her, it hadn't even been something he'd consciously done, but it had been within a walking distance from her, and it suited him. With so little of his stuff, the man had been building things back up, getting new items that were his rather than his exes, since she had always insisted on buying things, everything had to match in her mind and Tessin was more about having character, he liked the mismatch mugs in Tara's place, he liked homely nature of her place and was really trying to get himself to have the same. It was however difficult for Tessin as he balanced that with his full-time work, which he loved so much and spending time with Tara, on the few occasions in any given week when they'd both be free, free enough to spend a couple of hours together in either her house or his, and for some reason they always knew which to go to, the easiest part about all the time he spent with Tara was how not once had he ever been made to feel bad about his dedication to work.

Finishing off for the day far later than most others, Tessin had been left exhausted but with a glint of happiness on his face as he made his way out of the office, undoing the tie a little and letting out a long sigh of relief, a look of joy crossing his features as he quickly apparated out of the ministry and to the lane not ten minutes from his house. He had it warded by magic and the only one who knew where he lived was Tara and so when he entered his house and could smell the cooking of Tara he couldn't help but let out a smile of happiness. He put his stuff away by the door and began taking off his shoes and tie as he wandered further in, "Hey Tara," he called out to the house, before glancing at the time and realising it wasn't just late it was almost going to be the morning hours, he'd gotten distracted in a last case and had worked on it until just after eleven at night, "Got completely distracted in work, last minute case passed my desk," he explained loudly as he went to his bedroom to get changed, before making his way back to the kitchen, "What are you making?" he asked leaning against the door frame clad in his normal out of office clothes looking tired but clearly happy and clearly content with spending this time with Tara.

A lot of things had changed for Tara since she had invited tessin to stay with her. He had on,y stayed a few days, certainly no more than a week. She remembered she had been both disappointed and pleased when he had come home one day and told her he had found his own apartment. She had enjoyed having company at home in the evenings. She was happy to find out how close the new apartment was to hers. As it was they often found themselves in each other's company in the evening.
For example this evening Tara had finished the late shift and instead of going home she stopped at the local supermarket and got some food before heading to tessins house to make a surprise dinner not for any particular reason other than the fact she felt like making it and she needed a break for the cafe food. When she got to his house she was not particually surprised to find that she was there before him. They were both used to working late. So she let herself in thinking if he was working late he would be even more grateful for dinner and started to cut in the vegetables. Today she wasn't making Indian food, which was her staple instead she was making something she had learned when she was in France. Ratatouille. Whilst it was a lot different than food of her own country there were some similarities such as th fact that the longer it cooks the richer the flavours become for ts reason she left it on a slow simmer and took a seat and started to sketch the view from the window on the back of her receipt pausing every now and then to give dinner a bit of a stir. It was on one of thease stirring moments when she heard the keys in the door and looked io to see teasing arrive looking very tired, though not as tired as he had often been when their relationship consisted entirely of coffee in the dinette. hey tessin, how was your day? she asked before he said that he was delayed when a last minute urgent case crossed his desk. They both knew what that felt like. A last minute customer was sure to delay them in the shop for a while, though at least for her it meant that she would get more done and be able to start a little later the following day.
She started cutting the breast she had gotten whilst he changed before serving the meal into bowels. He returned to the kitchen wearing his comfortable clothes and he looked a lot more relaxed. But still tired. She gave m a quick friendly hug to cheer comfort him a little before answering his question. "I made us ratatouille for dinner, with crusty bread" she said. Gesturing to where it was ready to go. She hoped that it was okay and a substantial enough dinner after a long day of work, there was planty left it he wanted more, it was the kind of dish you couldn't make a little of.

Tessin was hardly surprised when he came home to smell the freshly cooked food, as he tried to do for her on the occasions that he was finished before her, whether it was at this apartment or hers, and he was always just pleased to sit with her and eat the food, always mentioning how much better her food was to his, how much more he enjoyed her food compared to his own, but it was just that he had never been much of a cook like she had was. The man had headed straight to get changed into something far more comfortable and suited to post-work calmness. He then wandered back into where she was, asking of course about what she was making, just taking a long breath of the warmth and of the smell of the food. Tessin returned the warm hug of a greeting and smiling at her as she gave him an answer, "Looks amazing," he replied, "Smells amazing," he told her grinning slightly before pouring himself a glass of water and seating himself at the kitchen table which sat at one of the corners of the room.

He took a long drink before just shrugging, "My day, was just like the rest of them," he told her with a small laugh, "No major crises, had some trouble with one of the Russian equivalents of me who was kicking up a fuss about some misfiled report needed in some trade agreement, it was pretty easily replaced, but I'm fairly certain I learned some pretty decent swear words in Russian," the man gave a light chuckle, his job led to some pretty interesting cases, there was a lot of reports to be filed and a lot of talking to different magical departments about their recent policies or about the state of the muggle governments, it was often interesting. He liked it a lot, he knew that it wasn't for everyone, but he enjoyed it a lot. The man then took another small sip, "How about yours?" he returned the question easily, he really enjoyed hearing all about her day, he loved his job but he found her days to be far more interesting than his, there was just something nice about hearing something about a work so different from his own. Tessin knew he could never do what Tara did, he found her work far more stressful that anything, he would rather other ministry employees yelling at him than customers, while their jobs were so polar he never thought of either as better than the other, or than his stories were valued any more than his own. Sitting and talking about his day and her day with Tara was honestly one of the best things about his day, it was such an easy balance they reached, something that was so simple and yet had been non-existent in his last relationship.
