Fighting with Aonghas in the middle of a corridor hadn’t been his best moment, they’d exchanged harsh words that he didn’t mean, the boy hadn’t meant for the argument to occur it had just happened because as they approached the christmas holiday it was the last chance to take back what he’d done, but everything he’d worked for during this semester would be for not. He’d thought it over, ruining through the worst cases in his head, thinking about going back, telling people and trying to figure out his next step, but all in all Rory had to admit, he knew he was doing the right thing, it was just that Aonghas didn’t yet see it, and possibly would never see it. He sighed heavily as he watched his brother wandered off in the opposite direction, he’d apologise eventually to him for all of this, try to more calmly explain it, but for now he was just thankful the corridor was mostly empty, or well, he’d thought it was. Because at the opposite side of the corridor was Andi, the last person besides maybe Tristan that he would’ve wanted to see this argument. He knew she hated him, and he couldn’t help but still crush on her, she was beautiful after all. But, she still hated him, and he hardly wanted someone who disliked him to see any of that. He’d apologised for his behaviour towards her in the last semester and they were friendly enough, but he still knew that she didn’t like him much at all, and he could rather she hadn’t known this about him at all. He wanted to keep it between a few select people, and she’d likely just overheard part of that argument, ”How much ae that did ye hear?” he asked her with a tentative tone.

Andi wasn't trying to run into Rory, nor was she trying to overhear the argument between him and a boy that could only be his brother. It was merely a case of repeated bad luck causing her to find herself at the wrong place at the wrong time to see Rory and listen in to understand what was going on. The previous year between her and Rory had been a roller coaster that ended with his eventual apology for ruining her date with Aodhan at the ball, and since then she would consider them on more of a neutral playing field despite her lingering annoyance and efforts to continually avoid him. In saying that she would have preferred to make her way from her house's common room to the kitchens alone and without drawing any attention to herself or listening in on the argument, knowing this wasn't a situation she was meant to be part of. The previous year or in any other mood than she was currently she might have stayed and listened in longer just to tease him later, but her own situation and the situation Rory seemed to be in called for a reaction that was different to her normal instinct. Thus in a last ditch effort to escape the bad luck that brought her there in the first place and to get away undetected while continuing to keep to herself as this seemed the only way to deal with it, Andi crossed her arms over her torso and began to turn around to walk in the opposite direction. Though this did not last for a moment longer as she soon found herself interrupted, Rory clearly realizing she was nearby.
Quarter turning back to face Rory, Andi answered his question honestly. "I heard enough." She said, glancing down to the floor. "Are you alright?" She asked after a short silence, thinking that showing a little sympathy, although mostly unwarranted sympathy given how awfully Rory treated other people, would be the best way for them both to leave whatever interaction they were having unscathed. She could only speak for herself, but the last thing she wanted that day was to argue with him and if that meant being concerned for a little while she would gladly play the part.
