Elijah Tine couldn't believe the years that had passed, he couldn't believe all that had happened to him, he couldn't believe how things had changed, or who'd he become. The musician could never have predicted the extent to which his music would reach in the muggle world, he could never have assumed in those nights in the Hufflepuff dorm when he'd been sat surrounded with a mishmash of lyrics and chords, that they would take his as far as they had taken him. Elijah realised with a small smile that it had almost been ten years since he'd left school, and started this whole thing, this whole great chapter of his life. The twenty-six year old was constantly doing something, he had barely a quiet moment, whether it was writing songs for himself or others, or touring America, or the world, he just kept going. His sound was always changing, but had remnants of what his music had been like all those years ago. His wand was never taken with him on tour, there was just too much attention on him to merit such a thing, he had the first few times taken it with him, but it hadn't made much sense to him to do that, he didn't need any of it, magic was just not necessary when he was travelling the muggle way. With all that, the best part of his life was the person whom he had shared all of these experiences with, Kynleigh, they'd gotten married a few years back, a private ceremony with just a couple of people, something intimate and just them, they hadn't been the type to go all out like some people in his world did, but they had done something for them and that was what suited them. Elijah had never been so thankful for anyone in his life, Kynleigh was the greatest thing in his life, and he knew he would give it all up for a life with her, it was just a good thing that he didn't have to. She came with him on tour often, but was doing her own thing too, excelling in her own right, her pictures and paintings lined the walls of their home.

It was her, he was returning to, he'd been doing press in Brazil, and it had been for about a week or so, and he had finally be allowed to go home, even head home a day early, and Elijah had jumped at the opportunity to surprise her, since previously he had called her to let her know that it would a few extra days before he was home, thus was often the nature of his work, but it had been a small lie, so that he could surprise her by coming home early and just be the good husband that he always aimed to be, which was why, at an ungodly early time, Elijah had landed back in Los Angeles and was taking a car back to their shared home, which was protected securely by magic, allowing them to live within the right area, but give them the privacy which Elijah had always worked towards. It didn't always work in his favour, but he tried his hardest and that was all he could do. The twenty-six year old was dropped off outside his house and after thanking the driver, he took his travel bag and walked through the gate and up to their house. Trying to move as silently as possible, not making a noise as he stepped into the house and placed his bag by the door, and jacket in the coats cupboard, finally able to place his keys in the key bowl. The musician moved through the house, and grabbed his wand, from where he left it, conjuring up flowers so that the house was fresh, he then began opening all the shutters which had been closed clearly for the night, and then beginning breakfast, setting the outdoor table so that they could enjoy the morning sunrise while they ate. He was exhausted, but a small cup of coffee and he was feeling a little more ready for this day. After breakfast he was sure they'd end up back in the bedroom, and Elijah was looking forward to napping the rest day of the way, but he hadn't seen Kynleigh all week, he just wanted to spend some time with her in their home, he wanted to spend time with his wife. He focused on making them a breakfast of all the unhealthy things they both loved, pancakes, waffles, anything that he could make by hand or just heat up, just working away, knowing that if he finished up before she got up he'd have to go wake her up. He had a fresh pot of coffee on the table, and the biggest smile on his face, he was home.

wow, i am rusty

It had been a whirlwind of a time the last several years. Sometimes Kynleigh couldn't believe just how crazy and beautiful her life was. The most beautiful part was that she got to spend her life with the only person she'd ever loved. Elijah Tine. It was a perfect life. The young blonde and her husband lived in a home in California, a good distance away from where they were originally from, but this was where Elijah had settled with his music career and Kynleigh would have followed him to the ends of the earth. There were occasions when she went on tour with him and she loved being on the road. The traveling was amazing and all of the places she'd gotten to see and experience were priceless, but she also had her own interests and her own profession. She'd purchased a small gallery, really just a little hole in the wall joint, right near Sunset Blvd where she displayed all of her paintings and portraits. About twice a month she held events and people would come to look at her work and every so often they would buy a piece or two. But really her heart was in her teaching. Three days a week she taught a painting class to some local kids for an afterschool program. They'd set up in one of the local parks and for a few hours she got to teach something that she loved. Crazy and beautiful. It was the life she'd always dreamed of.

Her husband had been gone for the better part of almost two weeks and he had called earlier the day before to let her know that it would probably be a few more days before he'd get to come back home. It was difficult, being away from him for so long, but this was his dream and had been for as long as they'd known each other so she was fully behind him. Missing him was part of the territory, but it was always worth it when he came home after being gone for so long. It was true that absence made the heart grow fonder. The blonde had just rolled over and thought she heard rustling downstairs, but figured it was their dog messing about so she closed her eyes, hoping to get at least another half hour of beauty rest before starting her day. Then she smelled it. Coffee. The one thing always guaranteed to wake her up from a dead sleep. Sitting up slowly she rubbed her eyes and beamed from ear to ear. "He's home," she muttered to herself as she leapt from the end of their bed and bolted downstairs. Kynleigh stopped at the bottom of the stairs as she saw Elijah, her heart filled with love and affection for the man who was all hers. She practically went airborne as she lunged at him, wrapping her legs around him and nuzzling her face into his neck. "You lied to me Mr Tine. If I weren't so thrilled to see you then I'd be fuming mad," she laughed as she planted a kiss on his lips.

In love with everything about his life, the best factor of it all, was Kynleigh, it was her and the unwavering support which she gave him, the same support he tried to return to her in everything that they and she did. Elijah loved watching her paint, he was always sure to go by her little studio whenever he could, tried to be at her events time permitting of course, but he knew that she loved teaching, and knowing that she was doing what she loved brought him more joy than anything else. He had always worried in the beginning that her following him out here, following his dream would lead to bitterness, would lead to her being annoyed at, to a break down of their relationship, but exactly the opposite had happened. Elijah should've always known his worrying would be for nothing, she was such an incredible person and would excel and find her passions wherever they might lie. He missed her a lot now when he was away on tour and she didn't join him, but he made sure to call often, and he was always faithful to her. She was the love of his life, and being married to her was as great a gift as the fact he got to make music and be paid for it. How different their lives were to those school days which seemed like such a distant memory. Elijah had never technically graduated from school, he'd just left when he'd become of age, and though most people would've said it would've never happen, but Elijah was so pleased to have proved them wrong, so pleased with how it had all turned out.

Making breakfast, the man knew that he would eventually wake Kynleigh up with it, and he was looking forward to her reaction when she realised he was in the house and not in south America. The little lie had just been to mess with her, give her a bigger surprise when he reappeared home earlier than he'd said he would. He knew she might not appreciate it too much, being lied to, but this way he got to surprise her with something rather than the other way around. Elijah wasn't even that sure how long he'd be home, things for him were always a little insane, he had schedule of sorts, but things were always happening, and when he was at home Elijah just forgot all about it, just to spend time with her. Elijah was stood in front of the stove, when he heard someone running down the stairs, and he turned slightly, at just the right point when she lunged at him, she nuzzled into him, and still trying to support himself and stop himself from falling, the man wrapped his arms around her happily and held her close, breathing in that ever familiar and homely scent. He loved her so much, he laughed lightly as she started speaking, and returned the kiss as deeply. The smile on his face couldn't fade in the slightest, "Then I couldn't surprise you Mrs. Davis," he told her grinning happily, "Surprise!" he told her, with a wave of his arm at the food he had made for her, for their breakfast. His gaze lingered on her as he spoke, on the way she was smiling, the still slightly sleepy eyes, the way her hair shone in the light of this sunny Los Angeles morning, god he missed her so much, "I missed you wifey," he couldn't help but say, because by god did he miss her whenever he was gone.

Kynleigh wrapped her arms tighter around her husband, breathing in the smell of him. The blonde always loved when her husband came home. They never lost that feeling of finding each other over and over again, and that she loved most of all. She giggled slightly when he spoke. She'd opted not to change her name when they'd married, a choice that Elijah had backed one hundred percent. "And surprised I am, sir," she said as she lowered herself from him, her feet planted on the floor, but her arms still around his neck, "Welcome home, baby! I've missed you!" Kynleigh gently kissed his neck just under his ear and then turned to all the food he'd prepared. It all smelled delicious and looked even better, but the only thing the petite blonde wanted right now was her husband. Her stomach on the other hand would only be satisfied with food and coffee and that wasn't something she was about to argue with. "As much as I'd love to give you a proper welcome home, I'm starving," she said laughing as she patted her belly, hearing it growl loudly as she did. "Eat now. Play later," she winked at him as she began to pour herself a large cup of steaming hot brown liquid, breathing it in as she did. Kynleigh grinned at Elijah widely and added, "Besides, you'll be needing your energy." That was another part of her husband being away so much...it always made coming home kind of sexy. It was definitely always worth it once he walked back through that door.

Watching Kynleigh remove herself from the koala like hold she'd had on him, almost made him miss the closeness, but he just watched her as she went to get herself the coffee and the way she moved around their kitchen. The smile on his face over seeing her didn't fade, it lingered as strong as ever, and he loved it. He loved her. Elijah loved what he did, he had achieved his dreams and far more than he could've ever hoped for, but now at this point in his life, he wanted to spend more time at home with her. They'd never really talked about it, but eventually he did think they'd want a family, Elijah didn't want it just yet, but he had that lingering on his mind as he watched her, just everything about how amazing she was to him, reinforcing themselves after the obvious time he'd been away and unable to see her.

Elijah poured himself a cup of coffee as she was done with it, and couldn't help but smirk at her words, oh he was definitely going to need some coffee then, "I'll be sure to drink at least two cups, so I can keep up" while exhausted from his time away and the travelling he wanted to spend this morning with her eating the breakfast he had made and then spend some intimate time with her. He wanted to do the latter thing first but a rumble of hunger from his own stomach made his think that Kynleigh was right about something, eat now, play later. So he kissed her on the cheek as he past her to the table, the last of the food following him to it, Elijah wanted to hear about all the things which had been happening, all the things he'd missed during his relatively brief absence, "Did anything fun happen while I was away?" he asked her as he began to fill his plate with some of the stuff he'd made, "What's on the agenda for today, aside from a little play later?" he added with a smile, knowing that because he'd come home earlier than planned he'd probably disrupted plans, which was perhaps one of the few downsides with how he had decided to go about this. However, her reaction to him being had been more than enough for him to know he'd made the right choice.
