Ezra was angry. He was angry with Gregory, he was angry with their teachers, but mostly he was angry with himself. Gregory had finally told them what was going on with him, and Ezra felt incredibly stupid for not realizing his friend (roommate?) had been unable to hear for at least a whole semester. He knew it wasn't entirely his fault, because Gregory had pulled away, but he still felt somewhat responsible. Frustration was getting the better of him and Ezra found himself at the lakefront. There, he gathered a few stones and started throwing them at the water as hard as he could, watching as they made splashes in the lake. Maybe the big eal he had heard about would come to the surface to eat him. "STUPID!" He yelled, as he threw another rock. He was upset too because even now, he knew there was more to the story Gregory wasn't saying. He didn't believe he had just hit his head and lost his hearing, but it wasn't likely he could get him to open up. Not after their fight last semester. Ezra grabbed another rock and threw it, this one making a bigger splash. It was satisfying, so he did it again.

This time of year, there wasn't really anywhere to be but outside, especially by the lake. It was so beautiful when it was hot out like this, and there were so many living things wiggling and squirming in the muck, and while Thistle wasn't a kid anymore, her love of gross things had never really died off. Her homework was as done as it was going to be, and she'd decided to head down to the lake for a bit to poke the mud with a stick and see if anything interesting appeared. She was quickly distracted by something interesting that was much bigger and less slimy as she approached, making her way over to Ezra curiously. "I think if you're looking for a rock that's not stupid you'll be waiting a while..." She commented with a small smile.

Ezra didn't often let his anger take over, so when he did, he hadn't thought about anyone hearing it. He whirled around at the sound of a voice, frowning slightly when he saw it was Thistle. Her joke wasn't bad, he just wasn't in the mood for it. "I'm in a bad mood." He warned her. "So go away if you're just going to make fun of me." He frowned, then threw another rock, though it was a little half-hearted compared to his previous throws.
