[Spectators of the Ceremony may post in this thread only unless given other permission by an Administrator. Note that spectators are students and staff of Beauxbatons, and guests from HNZ/Durmstrang]
A large grandstand stood to the left of the judging platform, both of which faced a dark forest. The sun was bright in the sky as a cool wind settled over the land. This day was the first task of the TriWizard tournament. This tournament was protected more than all others before it. Only students and staff, along with known guests, had been portkeyed to this undisclosed, unplottable location deep in France to watch the events of the day unfold.

Gustav sauntered around the stands that were slowly filling up with people. He was far more excited to watch the first task of the TriWizard Tournament than he appeared, if only for the fact that there were so many more people he was able to meet. Granted, it would have been a lot better if there were more Hogwarts and Durmstrang students to talk to, but sometimes one had to make do. Somehow it seemed like the Beauxbatons students were flowing out of the wood works. He had never appreciated just how many students attended until he cast his eyes over the stands and took in the throng. Gustav could only imagine what it would have been like if he had been a champion, himself. One year off, he lamented. He would never get another chance like the one that awaited Aubrey Derlinch. He would have been envious if he had cared half a fig about her. As it was, Gustav was only there to see if anyone got lynched by some vicious forest creature.

He wondered about the first task. It was quite a long way into the dark woodland. Gustav had paid no attention to the hint at all, for it didn't apply to him. Only now did he regret that notion. Anything to do with darkness must be somehow related to cold, and Gustav was freezing himself senseless in a loose white cotton sweater. It would be quite some time before the weighing of the wands was over. Until then, he might as well lurk around for a bit of action.

Mia made her way to where the spectators were to sit for the First Task of the TWT. She was excited as to see how the whole thing would play out. When she had learned that the TWT was being held at Beauxbatons this year she was instantaneously interested as to what it was and the past of it. When she had learned about it's full past she was somewhat hesitant about it but she was not a competitor so she let the hesitance ease away and be replaced with excitement. The Tournament itself was an exciting thing to behold and even though she didn't know the school's champion she knew she would bring her school pride, having being chosen by the Goblet was enough to prove that. As she took her seat and waited for the first task to start she slipped her current book out of her bag and began to read it, simply to pass the time.

Sebastian was excited to see the first task of the Triwizard tournament and left the castle early so that he could get a good seat. Dangerous or not, he knew that the champions would be up to the challenge otherwise they wouldn't have been picked. Climbing up the stands, Sebastian took a seat midway. He glanced around the seats, wondering if anyone he knew was already there. So far, he didn't see anyone, but he knew that most if not all of the students were on their way.

Clemence was dragged to watch the TriWizard Tournament by Maria and Genevieve, who only seemed to be interested in the social aspect of the tournament and the "cute Hogwarts champion". They are becoming more and more vain with every minute, she thought icily to herself as she opened her book and moved several seats away from her popular twins who already seemed to get some attention even though this was the first task of the TriWizard Tournament. She looked up from her book to see a young girl reading Les Misérables to which she smiled and commented, unsure if the girl would even hear her, "That is a wonderful story. The musical is done spectacularly."

Clemence offered the little girl a gentle smile before returning to Germinal, the book she was reading, her eyes reading every word proficiently yet quickly. Reading in silence was something she had gotten good at considering she was constantly alone, not that she honestly minded being alone, it was her solace and had been for quite some time. Perhaps it was because she was in a family with four other sisters, and now three other step siblings.

Mia could hear the growing sound of people arriving to see the first task unfold. She wondered how much longer it would be before it started, she was anxious as to see what the champions would have to do. Looking around Mia realised that she didn't know many people, she let out a small sign, she really did need to meet more people and with the school this year she might have a chance to meet more people.

Hearing a voice not too far from her she lifted her head and saw someone talking to her. Hearing her comment she beamed and replied,
"Thank you! I agree, it's a beautiful musical."</B><i></i> Her voice light and happy that she wasn't being ridiculed for her choice in recreational reading. "I have to say your book is a brilliant read as well."<B><i></i> She returned the compliment.

Gabrielle was opted not to go to the silly The TriWizard Tournament Event that was supposed to be going on that day, but after some major convincing she decided perhaps she should go and support her school as the champion competed. Secretly Gabrielle was also interested to see how Hogwarts would be doing in the events too, all her siblings but her had gone over there or started over there so it would be interesting to see how the boy from their school could hold up. Sitting down in an area that had some people in it but not enough to make her nervous she smoothed out her designer skirt before she shifted her icy blue eyes down onto the task. "I wonder what the whole task is going to be." She sighed and made sure the ponytail that was still holding her hair was tight and proper looking, now she was eager to see the events unfold and see who really had what it takes to be the TriWizard champion.

As the stands continued to fill, Sebastian spotted Clemence sitting down. He was surprised to see the girl at the event at all. She hadn't seemed to like the idea of the tournament, or at least that was the feeling he had gotten when they had spoken about it briefly in the cafeteria the other day.

Standing up, he walked over to her and was appalled to see that she and another girl were reading as they waited for the event. "Clemence...How can you stand to read right now?" he said in French as he dropped onto the bench beside her. He was too hyper to sit still let alone read as he waited for the first task to begin. He could only imagine how the champions were feeling at the moment.

Christelle joined the other students watching the TriWizard Tournament. Of course she had been upset at not being picked as a champion but that was no reason to go sour grapes on her school. She was head girl, after all.
She walked with her sister to the stands where she joined many other students. She had no idea how long they would be waiting before something happened.. Or what she was expecting to happen.

Slowly, the crowd surrounding her began to build up and soon, pretty much every seat was filled; well, it wasn't like the TriWizard tournament happened every day.
Christelle nodded to a fellow Beauxbatons student but she wasn't noticing them. No, a few days ago she had met a boy from Durmstrang- a hopeful champion. He was truly amazing with a dreamy accent and..
Christelle sat up suddenly, eyes wide. She wasn't supposed to thinking about Sergei. Her mind was supposed to be on the tournament, the possible danger and the task at hand- What would they have to do?
It was truly thrilling to sit there among such an atmosphere. She smiled at her sister. "This is brilliant."

Grande knew the First task was starting soon. He didn't quite want to go, but he knew it would good of him to go support his school. He had orginial planned to work, since classes wouldn't be on, but they hadn't needed him, so he decided he would go. He walked at a leisurely pace, watching people run or walk quickly past him. It was surprising that so many of them wanted to be there quickly. It was cool, but it didn't really matter did it? It was only a competition. He hoped that Beauxbatons would do well, but he was going because he had nothing else to do. This was all that could be done. Grande walked up to the stands, and looked around for Clemence, or Sydney, a new friend, Grande had surprised himself in making. He couldn't see Sydney, but he spotted Clemence. Grande walked straight to her. And sat down on the opposite side of her.

"I didn't think you'd come to this Clemence." Grande said in his unfaltering french. He noticed the boy sitting on the other side of her. And out of politeness held out a hand to him. "Grande, nice to meet you. I should've brought a book." Grande said annoyed that he'd not thought to bring one.

"I'm enjoying it," Clemence agreed with the younger girl, smiling politely at her before looking up as she heard Sebastian say her name. She blushed softly and said, "I like reading. Besides, my sisters dragged me here. Might as well get some reading in." She shrugged her shoulders lightly before looking over to him with a gentle smile.

The smiled was neartly wiped off when she heard her best friends voice which was odd considering that he was in fact her best friend. Genevieve and Maria dragged me," she said with a roll of her eyes before casting a small glare in their direction of the "popular crowd". She smiled at her friend's politeness and said, "Sebastian, this is my friend Grande."

Sebastian smiled as he listened to Clemence's explanation. She seemed like the type to enjoy reading, so her answer didn't really surprise him all that much. What did surprise him was when another guy dropped into the seat on the other side of her. The smile fell off his face as the guy introduced himself and held out his hand. Not wanting to be rude, Sebastian reached out his own and gripped Grande's hand, though he was considerably more at ease when he heard Clemence introduce Grande as simply being a friend.

"Nice to meet you" he said slowly in French. Thinking over the words to make sure he had them correct before he said them out loud, he asked both of them, "Excited to find out what it is?" He didn't know how to say task in French, but he hoped they would know he was referring to the challenge.

Riley had dragged Olive out to see the first task, hoping that the young girl would learn something. She didn't realize that Olive hated her and couldn't wait until her older sister was gone, but continued trying to get her to settle in as Riley had. She ambled lesiurely to a seat, hoping for Olive to follow her. "Excited?" Riley asked her simply in english, knowing that Olive would need to learn french properly soon.

Olive had been dragged from breakfast to the Triwizard tasky thing by Riley, and was officially sick of her. "Riley, I told you. I don't want to be here." Olive could be doing anything right now. Training, singing, kicking trees... anything other than staring at people as they face death. She sat next to Riley, with half a mind to walk off and sit somewhere else. Hearing the people jabbering in french around her, Olive's wish to go to Hogwarts instead of Beauxbatons was reignited. She preferred Spanish anyway.

Grande noticed both of falling smiles. And couldn't help to smile more. Grande almost wanted to make some excuse and leave the two to it. But Grande didn't have anything better to do, and he wanted to get to know this Sebastian guy. He seemed nice enough. A little excited over something so simple as a tournament. Of course, it was a little exciting, but Grande would've much rather if it had been in a different school. Like Durmstrang. Grande shrugged.

"Sebastian. It is nice." Grande said smiling at him and then to Clemence, almost knowingly though Grande couldn't be sure of anything. "Excited? Not really. Would've much rathered if they'd taken the tournament to Durmstrang or if it at was Hogwarts New Zealand again. But I'm here to support the School, because there is really not much else to do." Grande said in rapid french. Then he realised the boy hadn't spoken fast. And while the french was good, it was clear that it wasn't his first language.

"Unlike Clemence, I can speak english. If you struggle with anything I can translate. But you're french is quite good." Grande said to the boy in english.

Clemence felt Grande look down at her and smiled and she blushed, knowing that he was assuming things that weren't there. They had only met and they could barely understand each other's first language. But then again, he seemed like a good person even if he had questionable friends, or at least a questionable friend. She looked up at him and she nervously grinned, well to Sebastian it seemed like a normal grin but to her best friend of a few years, he knew what she was silently admitting.

"More concerned then excited," Clemence answered as she looked back at Sebastian. She listened to Grande and nodded in agreement before quirking a thin eyebrow at Sebastian as if to ask if he could understand them, knowing that he would likely have trouble as English was his strong suit.

Sebastian struggled to translate the quick French as Grande spoke. He understood most of it, but it took him a while to figure out exactly what Grande was saying. He was grateful when Grande told him that he spoke English and offered to translate and then complimented his French. He'd worked hard over the summer to try and increase his vocabulary because he had struggled during fifth year. If it hadn't been for Trilby's help, he'd probably have done much worse in his classes than he had.

"Thanks" he said, feeling more at ease around Grande by the moment. "But I'm enjoying the practice. And speaking in French is the only way I'll get better." he said in English. He was grateful to come across someone else who spoke English well enough to communicate with him. Some of his classmates had made fun of him for not being able to speak the language well, which had only motivated him to want to learn the language faster. Now though, he might have another reason for wanting to improve his French.

Smiling back at Clemence, Sebastian thought for a moment and then said, "They should be fine. They are champions for a reason, right?" He knew that the challenge was likely to be tough because it was the first one and would set the standard for what the champions needed to expect.

Cynthia had arrived late, who knew that getting a ticket to this thing would be so difficult! but after showing her press badge and getting in contact with the right people here she was, the only Reporter for New Zealand granted an exclusive to the Tri-Wizard Tournament that was being held in France, she would definitely have to use this opportunity to explore a bit while she was here, though she didn't know where 'here' was. Not that she cared as her Flashy Flash Filmer and Quick Quotes Quill quickly got to work taking pictures and writing down every little word that was being said as far as what the three champions were doing anyways. "I hope someone get's injured or better!" Cynthia said with a slight squeal just thinking about what a great article that would make putting her name back in people's minds since you really were only as good as your last article and it seemed to have been ages since she had written one that got the wizarding world turning their small heads towards her. "Let's go... Bad Things!" Cynthia called out deciding that she really didn't care who won as long as she got a good story. Turning towards her quill she quickly smiled "scratch that last bit" Cynthia said as she turned back towards the action.

Link had a very low tolerance of being around those he didn't know. But this phobia wasn't going to keep him away from the tournament. Despite not being chosen he was still curious as though what may have been if he was the one picked to represent a school he barely know of, it made a lot sense if you see it from someone else prospective. Why he didn't get picked? Who would want a champion that didn't even knowledge he was from Hogwarts. But that was something he couldn't hide, everyone knew the cold, arrogant boy was from Hogwarts, the boy that neither say nay or hey to anyone that even tried to associate with him. Only one was able to get a few spoken words, but that was just Link trying to put the fear in that Ravenclaw girl. Their encounter had happen briefly, the same day they had arrived.

Link sauntered towards the stands, one near the Hogwarts flag. He stood alone, but in the first row were he manage to get a good view of the whole tournament. His hands would collied along the railing as he watched Hogwarts champion began his first task. The champions had disappeared into the forest, simply away from the public view. Link cussed, finding to be a waste of time, but no matters. He stood watching either way, his Gray iris scanning for any activity emerging from the forest. Link set his high hopes for some action, anything brutal would be kind of nice.

Trilby had been writing a letter to Xavier, enjoying the peace and quiet of her dorm for a change. Everyone was making their way to the stands and the champions tents, so she knew she had plenty of time. It wasn't really that she wasn't interested but she had yet to receive any letter from her boyfriend and it irked her greatly. Feeling as if he was no longer interested in her because a few thousand miles seperated them meant it was a hard letter to write. She kept it light and airy has much as she possibly could, the very thought of being called a nag prevented her from asking why he hadn't written to her so far.

With the letter sent she made her way to the spectators stands and was glad she hadn't really missed much at all. The weighing of the wands seemed like a huge deal really and she watched in awe as she made her way along the benches to take a seat. Glancing further down she saw Clemence and Sebastian chatting cosily with one another and hastily turned away, sitting down suddenly where she was. Knowing very few of the people that were cloistered around her. She stared down at the ceremony as each champion went forward to get their wands weighted.

Delilah had been rather excited when she heard there was to be a Tri-Wizard Tournament. Not really because of the actual competition, but more for the attention it would bring to the school. Hopefully, it would put some pressure on the government to fix some of the things wrong with the area. She thought it was the perfect opportunity to spread awareness of some causes that she was passionate about. In fact, Delilah had planned a protest with some friends, but of course they had flaked out on her at the last minute. However, she had decided to just attend the Tournament anyway. No protesting, no disrupting, just going to watch.

Now, Delilah found her self edging through the crowded Beauxbatons stands, in search of a free seat. She was able to find one fairly quickly, and sat down next to a small group of people she recognised vaguely from class, but didn't really know. Sighing to herself, Delilah dumped her bag (covered in political pins such as 'Society for Distressed Witches', 'Campaign for Greater Freedom for Wizards', 'Society for the Support of Squibs', etc) on the seat next to her, and turned her attention to the competition below.

Emmanuelle was out in the stands for the Tri-Wizard Tournament, ready to cheer on the champion. Truthfully, she had no idea who Aubrey was, or even what on earth was going to happen, but she supposed she ought to go cheer on the girl and support Beauxbatons in the cup. As far as she knew, there was something with Veelas. Sometimes she felt like Veelas were nothing more than animals for people's amusement, and that hurt her a lot because she was part-Veela, and naturally, fairly pretty, but so much more than amusement. People like her mother, who was a half-Veela, or the half-sister she'd just learnt about, seemed to use their blood for her own amusement, ensnaring various men (how else would she, herself be around? It wasn't like Evangeline Leroy had ever had a mind to settle down with anybody), but Emmanuelle tried to ignore it. She wasn't a pretty plaything, she was just the same as anybody else.

Albeit a little 'out there'.

For today, Emmanuelle was dressed in her standard Beauxbatons uniform - except with a silvery-blue top hat on her head, and matching tights. It was fairly conservative for her standards, but she'd get more outlandish as the tournament went on, she was sure. It wasn't as though she was trying to draw attention to herself, she just liked to be a little out-there in her fashion. Humming to herself, Emmanuelle opened her book - she was reading Le Petit Prince yet again, it was one of her favourite books - and focused on that, occaisionally looking up to see what was going on. Not that it really mattered, it was hard to see anyway. Especially with the hat falling down and obscuring her vision.

He sat on the back bench watching everything unfold and hated to admit it but quite fancied Morrigan winning. He certainly wasn't going to say it aloud, it would be like treason. He knew their own champion was not to be underestimated but he had taken a wee shine to Moko when they had met. She was feisty and unpredictable, if the rumors abounding the school were true and Veela's were really inside the forest then it was they who would have to look out for her and not the other way around.

He settled himself back to enjoy the proceedings, glad that they had a decent turn out at least.

Just when Judy thought that she had gotten away from Hogwarts, Hogwarts follows her here in the form of a Tri Wizard Tornament. It didn't matter much though. Judy was practily unknown at Hogwarts and the people that had come here were sure not to remember her. She had a Beauxbatons banner in her right hand and was waiting for Aubrey to win. She seemed like a cool girl.

Even the Head Boy was there cheering on thier school. Things where better for Judy here at Beauxbatons. There where still bullies here but Judy knew how to deal with them better now that she had gone through what Aleyah had put her through. She was braver. Judy took another look at the Head Boy before looking back the field. She had a silly little crush on him though she knew that it would never happen. She was too young and silly.

Dihlana rarely go to school events, but this one was probably the biggest event in her life. She was the first witch in her family (from what she know of), and knew she couldn't miss it. Walking towards the stands wearing a parka robed across her small form, the autumn weather was finally taking effect all around them. Dihlana looked around for a seat, while rubbing her arms. Luckily it was only a light breeze flowing pass them, and nothing major that would cause Dihlana to huddle standing up if she didn't find a seat. Dihlana stood on her tiptoes and there in the far end of the stand was a row emptied, a seat calling for her name. Dihlana strolled around the stands and sat down as she witness the second half the first event continue to unfold. You couldn't see much, but she was excited to be here. Dihlana couldn't wait to write to her mother and father in Dubia.
