It had only been recently when he contacted Alyss Summers because he found out about her father dying, and offered to let her come to live with him, maybe even be adopted. There was something in his stomach that was knotted and almost regretting the decision. However, her father and he were partners, not exactly close friends but enough to where he would have to do this out of honor for his daughter. Axel sure as hell did not want her going back to that thing, a muggle. Axel was extremely prejudice, more so than many in his family. He hated everything that was not pure or mixed. Though he made an exception for Avory and no one knew why. She managed to swoop in and capture his heart and soul. One would talk about having a soulmate in the Zhefarovich family, and she was his. Which was why he had asked her to come with him, to speak to Asparuh about this whole ordeal.

After apparating, they arrived in the foyer of the Zhefarovich Manor. Axel perked his head up, and listened closely. His stormy eyes seemed to glance over everything, before he led the way down the halls, hoping to find his father, the Patriarch of the family, in the Patriarch's Lair where he often lurked. He remembered that they had left the care of the little ones with another descendant of the family. Athena was the oldest, and then Aleric, and finally the twins. Axel opened the double doors as he entered and he saw his father by the family tree. Immediately, he knelt down out of respect, before raising back up and he said in a loud, clear voice, "Bashta, I have come to ask you of a possible new entrance in the family, by means of taking someone in and possibly adopting them. That someone would be Alyss Summers." Axel emphasized the last name to see if Asparuh knew of her father or family. If so, then maybe he would know what is bugging him about this whole adoption thing. One thing that he always had was getting to the point, immediately.

Avory found it a great honour to be visiting the Patriarch of her family today with her beloved husband, Axel. It had been six glorious months now that she had the honour of having the Zhefarovich name attached to her own. Finally, she was completely rid of anything that held her to her past and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She had thought that killing her parents and leaving a hoax in replace of herself then burning all evidence would have been enough to clear her of her past and her parents who had been filthy Aurors, something she could never stand – even from a young age when she didn’t even understand what exactly they were she always had a darker attitude compared to her parents and it was only ever assumed that it was just part of growing up; no one ever thought that she would later become a Death Eater and join one of the darkest and most evil families known to the Wizarding World; the Zhefarovich’s.

Avory left strict instructions to the person who would be caring for her children today while she and Axel went by their business. She knew that the person was a descendant so they could be trusted but next to Axel, her children were the most important people in her life – even those that weren’t of her womb, they were Axel’s and she shared everything with Axel now. Wearing one of her long, flowing black dresses with minimal, matching jewels; hoping it was appropriate enough for meeting with the Patriarch. After a short apparation, Avory and Axel arrived at the Zhefarovich Manor. Avory remained quiet as she followed her husband to where his father would be. As they walked Avory was consumed by her own thoughts on the meeting that was to be held today. Avory was, like her husband, unsure of the whole Alyss Summers situation. She understood how Axel had an obligation out of respect of his old partner to keep Alyss from her filth of a mother. Avory understood all this and would stand by her husband and her Patriarch’s decision on the matter. When they entered the room that Asparuh resided Avory kneeled in front of the man like Axel did, out of respect. Standing at her full height once more she let her husband take lead and do what had to be done.

Standing in front of the family tree, Asparuh Zhefarovich had his arms crossed over his chest, watching all of the members and seeing that Kalif was expecting another as was Estrella. It seemed that those two were often tied with each other when it came to children and bearing them. However Danielle was also expecting as well. Despite the fact that Danielle was hard to get pregnant anyway, Asparuh truly did not need anymore children. Though he felt more sorry for Alphonse Snow, who had more than he, and then Arnost who had roughly fourteen on the way, and had four who were still alive. Though the girls that were alive had promising futures, not that son of his. Asparuh turned around when he was addressed to, and his black eyes landed on Axel and Avory. He knew it was not time for her mark just yet, as they had another few weeks to go. Once she had that brand, she would be able to apparate in here at free will. He heard what Axel had come here for and immediately, he responded, "You have two teenagers, a preteen, a toddler and two infants to take care of, and you come here asking to care of another?"

Though that last name Summers brought him some memories. Summers. Asparuh crossed over to a bookshelf, where he found a large black book that contained much information from the past and older Death Eaters from the previous generations. This was simply to keep notes and tabs on, in case one were to betray them. He opened the book, and he flipped through the pages where he had found little information on Summers. Asparuh narrowed his eyes and he closed the book, "One daughter with a muggle mother. There is something you ought to know as well. Summers' mother was half-Veela. That would make her an eighth Veela. You know how strict our laws are on breeds like that, especially when it comes to adopting." Asparuh knew of Axel's judgments and opinions on those breeds, having read his mind many times and all. Though it was curious on how prejudice he was, and yet he was married to someone like Avory. Though Avory managed to prove herself. Axel would be becoming future Head soon enough, and he needed a less of a stricter mind when it came to blood types, though with Veelas he could understand. He had to be convinced just to let Aphrodite Snow live here, and that took days of convincing. Asparuh would need good convincing to allow someone with that blood into the family, as they were getting too intermingled with the family as is, through Arnost.

Axel sighed and he uttered, "I owe an obligation to her father. That is the reason." Though Asparuh seemed to head in another direction, where Axel's eyes did not leave him for a second. It was incredible how much Asparuh knew about the older Death Eaters, but then again, he had been there with them as well. Though he did not keep anything on the newer ones that for that, he was thankful and did not blame him. The newer ones were of no account anyway. Axel waited as everything was revealed and Axel almost froze in his spot. Alyss Summers was not fully human? She had that filthy blood of a muggle and a Veela in her? Why would she not inform them? Then again, how could she know because not even her father mentioned it. Oh Axel knew just how strict those laws were about Veelas in the family, adoption or not. He did not want to challenge those laws or even have anything to do with them. He wanted to have a peaceful living environment, and he sighed.

Axel nodded at Asparuh and he muttered, "I know those laws perfectly well, perhaps too well." Axel glanced at Avory to see what she thought on the matter. Axel shook his head and he said, "I'll take her in, care for her until she is able to get out on her own. But adopting, no. We have five Veelas in the family, four with our blood and one married in which will cause even more to arise. Five right now is enough. I don't want to see anymore purple on our tree. It is bad enough she is half muggle, but having another creature like that, I don't care what her father would have said, it won't change my mind." Axel shook his head once more, and clasped his hand to his forehead. Oh boy, won't this be a thrill. At least she doesn't have much in her to make her turn into that bird thing. That would be even worse to think of. He vaguely wondered if Arnost's kids would have enough to turn. Oh he hoped not, cause the moment they turned, he would pluck their feathers and wring their necks like the birds they were.

Avory remained quiet as Asparuh and Axel talked about the possibility of adopting Alyss Summers. While Avory was still a relatively new Death Eater she did know of the older families more due to the memories that remained of her mother and father discussing Death Eaters that were at large when they were Aurors and Avory was still a child. It was memories like those that she tried to hold on to the most from her childhood. Avory despised her childhood when she thought of her parents but they had been useful to her when she went of the search of Death Eaters who had helped her attain her mark, they did owe her after she had got rid of her parents for them as they had been the Aurors that had gave them the most bother. She had been so overjoyed when she received her mark; it had been many months of training that she would gladly go through again just to be where she was at today. She glanced down at her arm to see her mark, out for all to see in its glory. As she thought of her Death Eater mark she thought of another mark that she would soon receive, the mark of the Zhefarovich’s which would mean that she became an official member of the family and allowed her to apparate to the Mansion when she pleased without another family member having to do it for her. While she was only receiving a smaller version than that of her husband’s and in the years to come; her children’s, it was still a great honour for her that she would wear it with pride every day.

As Avory listened to the two men talk her eyes widened as the truth of Alyss’s pedigree came into light. The blood of the two species that Axel hated most than any ran through the veins of the young girl that he was thinking of adopting. Avory took a few steps forward and placed her hand on her husband’s arm. She knew that this wouldn’t be easy for him but she also knew that he would make the right decision whatever it might be. Avory knew that Axel hated anything less than Pure Blood but she had been forever grateful that he had made an exception for her. She often felt bad that he to be married too and reproduce something less that Pure, she hated herself for not being Pure. This fact had allowed her to be slightly less blood prejudice so she would stand by Axel whatever he chose and would easily remind him of her less than Pure Blood status if he was unsure of doing something that deep down, Avory knew he wanted to do. Avory let a subtle smirk form on his lips when Axel agreed to take her in but not adopt her, it was a much better choice in her mind. She looked up at her love and nodded slightly to show her support in his decision.

After hearing Axel's reasonings, Asparuh thought that they were quite absurd but he said nothing. He went to his chair in front of the fireplace and he took a seat. He stared into the fire, before he waved his hand slightly and caused the chair to turn to face his son and his wife. Asparuh listened to Axel's rant and thought of nothing more to add to it. He had a point, there was too much purple on the family tree. Though if he decided to not even let Alyss stay with him, he would have pointed out that Avory is nothing less of half-blood. Asparuh concluded his session with them, "Then you will have no issue with letting her stay. I prefer to keep the purple from the tree, and it was best to not adopt her. The laws are strict. Now, if you are finished, I need my peace before my routines with duties of a Patriarch and a Death Eater." Asparuh turned the chair back to the fire, and from there, his thoughts overcame his hearing and such. He did not pay them anymore attention. They came for what they wanted, and now, they should leave him and not waste anymore time.

Axel felt Avory's hand upon his arm, and immediately, he calmed down from having a heart attack over Alyss' blood type. His eyes gazed down to meet with his one true love's. He smiled slyly to her, which was the sweetest she would ever receive besides a playful smirk. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and he took a deep breath. "Veela blood, in our household. If I catch any extra feathers, she is out." As harsh as it was, Axel did not have any other choice. He stuck to what he believed in and he was not about to let anything change it. He kissed the top of her head, and heard Asparuh's words. He leaned and whispered in Avory's ear for her to hear, "Let's not waste any more time, and we have some to spare. Let's do something special." He smirked slightly, and he turned to say to his father. "Blagodarya ti, bashta," thanked Axel in his native tongue to him. He turned to leave the Zhefarovich Manor, with an afternoon of Avory to himself, and with a plan to notify Alyss.

Avory’s eyes remained gazing upwards, she worried over her husband’s prejudice towards the girls blood type and the last thing he needed to do now was ruin something that ultimately was the right thing for him today. Seeing his smirk Avory relaxed knowing that he would be alright now. Avory slid her arms around her husband’s lean body, appreciating the rippling muscles that she could feel under his shirt, now if only that shirt wasn’t in the way she thought for a moment but stopped as she didn’t want Asparuh to hear such thoughts coming from someone so new to the family and certainly not up to the fullest of standards to bare the Zhefarovich name. Upon hearing Asparuh’s request for them to leave Avory bowed out of respect once more at her husband’s word a sly smirk crossed her face, Avory was never one to refuse special time with her husband.
Fin!
