Arrival at Hogwarts:

Stepping off of the Hogwarts Express nervously, Silvia followed a loud voice, booming over the hundreds of people. Not able to see over the many heads , she pushed her way to the voice, finally getting there unharmed. Her eyes looked up at the giant hairy man, blocking out the light of the moon, standing in his shadow - others were staring up at him too.
Once all first years were gathered, they all headed over to the lake, watching the other students ride up to the castle in horseless carriages through the trees as she walked with the others. They didn't have to walk too far, down the steep narrow walkway, surrounded by trees. Silvia turned around the bend and there, in plain sight was Hogwarts castle.
She gazed up at its beautiful structure of many towers, the golden lights shining from a couple of windows, while the others reflected black. Carrying on down the widening path was a huge black lake which mirrored the starry sky above. On the lake, bobbing up and down on the water, which caught her eye, were numerous boats, little boats about enough room for four people to each.
All the boats glided along the lake as if floating, all heading towards the castle, watching it getting bigger and bigger by the minute - Silvia was hypnotised by its vast size and beauty of the place. She couldn't wait to get inside.
From the outside the castle seemed cold but once she was in, she felt warm and welcomed, she fell in love with it in first sight, and it was even better inside. They were all gathered outside large oak doors, people chatting excitingly and nervously along each other. Silvia listened rather than spoke, she now just wanted to know what house she would be placed in. Her mother had told her about the Sorting Hat and not to be so afraid and to relax - she would do just that.
A professor appeared up front, she didn't notice until she heard her speak over the voices, asking for all to be quiet. She explained what was going to happen and soon enough they were walking into the Great Hall of Hogwarts.
Silvia gasped, looking up at the millions of candles floating high above them, a smile on her face, not taking any notice of the older students on each of the four long tables - watching all the newcomers walk. Her eyes looked around, up at the stone figures at top near the windows and each of the house flags, swaying freely.
People in front were stopping as they were all now gathered, facing the staff table. Silvia didn't quite notice and walked into the light haired boy in front, and quickly apologized, her cheeks redden slightly.
She was starting to feel nervous as she watched the professor place a four legged stool in the middle, and then the Sorting Hat - an old, tattered hat moving as if it was looking around at them.
Silvia jumped a little as the hat began to sing, not expecting it, she smiled in amusement but started to listen to the words it sang. After, the hall broke into applause and the first years did the same, a couple however didn't and were talking to each other, snickering.
One by one, in alphabetical order of last name, each of the first years were being called up and sorted into their houses. Silvia's heart was thudding harder as the professor was calling out each 'A', waiting for her name to be called. I must stay calm, she thought, watching a girl sit on the stool and placing the tattered hat upon her head - she looked worried.
A couple of minutes went by "HUFFLEPUFF!" the hat shouted and the hall filled with applause - mostly from the table she was rushing over to.
"Alexia, Silvia" Silvia swallowed, her legs were like jelly and she was surprised she could walk. She sat down on the stool, her hands grabbing the hat, shaking, she placed it on her head.
The hat moved, muttering a little, her heart was racing, hundreds of eyes were on her, watching her every move and reaction, waiting to know what house she would be placed in.

"Hmmm, I could see you in one of two houses... but you seem to fit best in HUFFLEPUFF!"

(hey everyone just back from holiday :) )

Xandria K watched everyone being sorted, to her surprise her legs were shaking. Please gryffindor, she thought. Both her brother and sister were in Gryffindor and she wanted to be in it so badly. If I'm not in it, she thought sadly, my parents are going to be so disappointed and I just want to prove them all wrong.

"k, Xandria." The head mistress rang out.
it took her a while to realise that she was Xandria k. she stumbled forward foolishly and placed the large hat over her head. Not slytherin was the last thing she thought before the hat dropped over her eyes blocking everything out.

"You seem to seek to be fair to all, you fit best in HUFFLEPUFF!"

As young Monov waited in the crowd thinking "This is such a waste of time, I already know what house im getting in."

"MONOV!" he hears his named called.

He looks up and walks forward to the stool, he sits down. As the Headmistress places the sorting hat on Monov's head, Monov's thoughts begin to race.

I wonder if this hat can tell me how powerful I'm going to be.... I hope I get Slytherin. I didn't like the kid next to me much... He smelt like moldy cheese.... oh my... why is my heart racing? Hurry up Hat! Tell me already!

"Yes, I see great cunning in you. SLYTHERIN!"

Ted waited patiently for his name to be called. As he waited a bunch of thoughts swirled around in his head. He thought endlessly about which house he would be sorted in. 'I'm not smart enough to be Ravenclaw, nor am I brave enough to be in Gryffindor, um... Slytherin?' He paused for a moment. Then as he was about to continue his thought he heard the headmistress call out "Mann, Ted."

At first Ted was a bit flustered as he made his way forward. Then when he was close to the front he put on an emotionless face on and kept telling himself to just keep his cool. When he sat down on the stool he bit down hard on his lower bottom lip trying to keep his heart from accidentally popping out from his chest. As the hat was being placed on his head he held his breath and thought 'Good god, just make this quick and painless as possible.'

"Quick and painless you say? Well, how about HUFFLEPUFF"

James looked up at the beautiful ceiling above him as he paraded with the other beginners down the great hall. He was dazzled by it all. The sorting hat did its poem and names were called out.
"Hill,James!"
His name sounded fantastic and as he sat on the rickey old stool with the battered old hat that had sorted so many others before him the only thing that was going through his mind was: I really want to be in Ravenclaw, Ravenclaw, Ravenclaw. I really want to be in this house or in Hufflepuff with my cousin Kate Johnson. Please kind sorting hat Ravenclaw. I don't have the qualities for the others i am not brave enough. I am very clever and Iworking means a lot to me but so do my friends. PLEASE can it be over soon. Thought James as he waited and the sorting hat thought.

"I think that would suit you nicely. HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Gale, Becky."
Becky heard her name being called so she skipped up to the stool, sat down and put the hat on. She waited with growing exitement for her house to be called out. "Please Hufflepuff." she whispered.

"Yes, HUFFLEPUFF is definitely where you belong!"

Jake stood with the other first years impatiently. What was all this fuss about? It was only a house. Those stupid muggleborns were being ignorant as usual, and getting panicked about nothing. Idiots, he thought savagely. What does it matter what house you're in? He looked over at the Slytherin table, and he knew that part of him wanted to be sitting with them by the end of this sorting. Oh hurry up! he felt like shouting as 'Abbot, James!' was called. He was 'Whitlow' so he'd be at the end with the W's. How irritating.
Finally, the headmistress shouted the words he had been waiting for.

"Whitlow, Jacob!"

Jake strutted forward arrogantly, shoving two still-unsorted fellow first years out of his way as he made his way to the old stool. Jamming the hat on his head, he thought;
Come on you old hat, make up your mind. I'm ready for you, come on, try me. And leaving it at that, he waited for the Sorting Hat to sort him.

"SLYTHERIN!"

Gabriella stood nervously as the Headmistress called out name after name. What if it's all a big mistake??? I can't possibly be magic...There's no way! The cluster of First Years was thinning quickly.

"Kinney, Gabriella!"

No, she told herself. You're here for a reason. They know what they're doing. You might not know much, but you can learn. Her pep talk seemed to work as she walked stiffly to the stool. OK, I'll be honest, it is scary though...

She sat down and placed the old, delapidated wizard's hat on her head.

Anywhere but Slytherin, Anywhere but Slytherin...Ravenclaw would be good, and Harriet and Hollie are in Gryffindor, so that would be nice...But not Slytherin! She smiled slightly to herself...Maybe she was going overboard about Slytherin...

"Yes, you'll do well in GRYFFINDOR!"<i></i>

Anthony walked in and took a seat. When he heard his name he was really excited. He walked up to the front ant took a seat. He then placed the sorting hat on his head. " I wonder what house i will be in i hope its Griffindor." He thought to himself

Kirsty went and sat a table and started talking to others. " Cassidy, Kirsty." She stood up and pushed someone who was standing in her way. She was nervous but wanted to be in Slytherin and follow her parents footsteps. She placed the hat on her head and waited.

"I see you desire Slytherin, yes that would suit you well. SLYTHERIN!"

Willoe watched as one by one, the children around her were being sorted. She sighed. This was all still very strange to her. Being muggle-born, she found it difficult to comprehend the fact that a hat was deciding where they would go.

"Ledger, Willoe."

She snapped out of her mini trance and stepped up towards the hat, her heart beating faster than she thought possible.

She sat down and the hat was placed on her head, coming over her eyes. She silently groaned. Well, nothing to do now but wait and see...

"RAVENCLAW!"

When Evanna heard her name, she walked forwards and sat down on the three legged stool. She placed the sorting hat on her head and started saying in her mind,"Gryffindor......gryffindor........gryffindor."she hoped that she would be sorted into this house. She was very scared at that moment.

"Yes. GRYFFINDOR!"

Harriet waited patiently for her name to be called out. Suddenly Alicia called out her name and she walked up to the stool. She wanted to be brave and couragous in front of the school. After all first impressions last forever. The hat was placed on her head and she waited for it to make its decision.

Tulli waited patiently as everyone was being sorted.

"Tulli Kitz!"

His name was called, as he made his way to the stool he saw his brother and Tulli gave him a sly look. "Lets do this, Hat." He said quitely as he sat down. Then he started to think as loud as he can. "My brother was sorted into Slytherin. I should be sorted into Slytherin. He crossed his arms and waited.

"Yes, you definitely belong in SLYTHERIN!"

“Victor Crimson” he heard his name being shouted out as he stood making his way towards the sorting hat. He was more relaxed than the rest of the first year not really caring which house he would be in. His purpose and goal for the next seven years was too learn magic and find a place were he belongs. If it was working at the ministry he wouldn’t have mind, but he knew their was much more than just working as in official. Once he reached the old mangled up hat, he sat on the stool as they place in on his big curly afro. He would have braided it up today, so that would have fitted him perfectly at this time, but he wasn’t caring about at the moment. He closed his eyes and just mumbled “Put me were I truly belong” as he said his last words the sorting began…….

"I think you'd best suit GRYFFINDOR"

Caillie is too busy thinking on what house she'll be in while the other students are being sorted...She was so nervous that she can't hear the students shouting and whistling as new members are added to their house.
At last, the headmistress called her name...Caillie walked slowly and sat down on the stool. She watched the headmistress as she put the hat on her head.
As the sorting hat touches Caillie's hair, she heard her heart beat faster.
But to calm her self down...
She thought "I'd like to be in Ravenclaw...please...put me in Ravenclaw...I will prove that I deserve to be in it..."

"You might do well in Ravenclaw, but I think you'd fit in much better in GRYFFINDOR"

"Felix Havelock" was the name that Headmistress called out. Felix rose and walked up to the stool to be sorted into a House. He seemed very calm, but it was clear he was putting on an act. He sat down onto the stool as the Hat was placed on his head. He didn't have any preference to which house he would go to. He wanted to go to the one in which he would succeed and fit in best.

"No preference? That's a first. I think you'd do well in HUFFLEPUFF!!

Sam's name was called. She head quickly snapped up, and she stared up at where the Sorting Hat was, looking completely panicked. A million thoughts seemed to swirl through her mind. She was terrified of standing up there, in front of all those people. She wouldn't be able to do it. Subconsciously, she moved her side bangs across her forehead to hide the long, thin scar scratched into her skin. Thank god she was small. Maybe the taller students wouldn't notice...

A memory began to flash through her mind. A memory in which she sat alone in a little room in that little orphanage. Where she read the same adventure book over and over again because it was all the orphanage could afford. A memory in which the Headmistress of Hogwarts New Zealand came in and told her that she was, "different." That she was a witch, like her mother, the Gryffindor from the family of Slytherins. That she was accepted to this school so she could learn the "magical arts." A memory in which she accepted willingly, eager to escape this place of sadness and misery.

She gulped, trying to remember what the hat said about the four different houses. Slytherin was...cunning? Ambitious? Definately not her. Hufflepuff...loyal and caring? Loyal, sure, but caring? She didn't have anyone to care for. Ravenclaw...smart? No way.

And then there was Gryffindor, the house that the mother she never knew was sorted into...The house of bravery.

Taking a deep breath, she thought, Well, you can't be brave without conquering your fears. right? Let's conquer this fear of being in front of people, then Sam...She then proceeded to walk from the back of the group of first years to the front, and slowly walk up the stairs. She paused, taking a calming breath, before climbing up to sit upon the stool. The hat was placed upon her head. She tried to calm her nervous mind. The only thought racing through her mind at that very moment was, Gryffindor, Gryffindor, please. Gryffindor. Just like my Mum, make me a Gryffindor...

(((As you've been sorted on this site once before I will simply set you back up as what you were before ;) )))

Rebecca stood nervously with the rest of the students,
'Grannon, Rebecca'
'Fiddle sticks!' She thought to herself, she quickly walked up to the stage and sat on the old stool, when she had the hat on her head, she began thinking about her father, he had told her to aim for gryffindor, 'please gryffindor!' She begged, and waited for the hat to speak.

"Hmm, yes, you would do well in GRYFFINDOR!"<i></i>

Aiden waited for his name to be called, a girl standing in front of him had just been called and was sent into Gryffindor.

Then it was his turn. "Aiden Lorka." Aiden walked up to the stool thinking of the last few words his Dad said to him before you leave, 'You belong in Ravenclaw where I was.' But Aiden didn't like this thought at all, he didn't want to be in Ravenclaw, sure he is smart but he thought he would be more suited to Gryffindor or Slytherin. His Mom was in Slytherin when she went to Hogwarts. And he didn't want to be in Ravenclaw, his Dad is extreamly stuck up and he was afraid that everyone in that house would be the same way or he would turn out like that.

When the Sorting Hat was placed on Aiden's head he thought about why he wanted to be in Gryffindor or Slytherin. "My mom was in Slytherin and she is a pureblood, I am very proud of that and I think I will be well suited there but I also think that Gryffindor could be the place for me, I can be courages." Aiden's thoughts trailed off to a specific time in his youth when he had to save another child from certain death.

Aiden shook the thought out of his head and waited for the Soting Hat to tell him his fate.

"Yes, Gryffindor or Slytherin could suit you very well. I would have to say you'd fit best in GRYFFINDOR"

Darl was in brief nervousness he wants to run but her mother will kill him if he do it right in front of his mother's late teachers. as the headmistress called his name, he walked into the stool and the hat was placed into his head. 'please don't put me in what my mother wants, i hate in slytherin and hate the people their, please put me in a safe placed maybe you could put me back home or in azkaban just don't put me in slytherin' he thought and waited for the hat to spoke.

"I think you'd fit in most in RAVENCLAW!"

Kyle walked into the sorting ceremony and took a seat. He was really excited about what house he would be in. " Smith, Anthony." The headmistress called and he walked up and sat on the stool. Kyle placed the hat on his head and waited. He hoped he was in Griffindor.

"It's your lucky day! GRYFFINDOR!"

Matthew waited amongst the large crowd waiting to be sorted. He couldn't believe this! He was MuggleBorn so when he saw a talking hat he felt as if he were in a dream. When his name was called out he did not hear it as he was gazing around the large hall..until someone had nudged him gently to make him move.

He sat on the stool and waited for the hat to be put on his head. He wasn't scared or nervous, just excited. He knew he would love it here. But when the hat began to speak he concentrated hard and waited for what the results were...

"Gryffindor!"
