🌹 Rose Giving Something That Wasn't There Before

Marie’s fourth delivery of the day was to another person with an interesting name. Delilah Thorne, Thorne as in rose thorns, and the thorns Maleficent used to trap Aurora’s castle in Sleeping Beauty. Marie, again, couldn’t dream of having a name so lovely sounding, and smiled as she continued to stand in the entrance hall, calling out the name so she could deliver her fourth yellow rose. “Delilah Thorne!!!!” Marie called out repeatedly, looking around in case anyone nearby reacted.​

Delilah decided to take a break and do some reading in between classes and delivering roses, so she found a quite spot in the entrance hall to sit. But just as she settled in, she heard her name being called from across the hall. She picked up her book and walked over to the girl. "Hi, that would be me." she said a little sheepishly.

Marie turned around and smiled at the girl that approached her. “Oh hello! I know you! From classes.” She said happily. “This rose is for you!” She then added, producing the yellow rose from her basket and offering it to Delilah along with the note.​

Delilah smiled at the girl who had called her name. "Oh yeah, what's your name again?" she asked a little embarrassed she didn't remember the girl's name. "Thank you." she said with a small smile, reading the note. She felt a weird mix of relief and concern as she read Brooke's name on the note. On one hand it was nice that the other girl had thought about her enough to send her a rose but she also feared how this potentially played into the weird dynamic of their friendship. But it wasn't worth worrying about this now and she looked back to the girl in front of her. "So how are your deliverers going?" she asked nicely.
