Social events are dull

[Sunako Koshiba]

Problems with the family where not knew to any connected to the Koshiba. It was like one giant free for all and the last one left standing ruled it all the only catch being there where constantly new players being added to the game. Sunako did her best to stay out of family affers but there where a few banquets that even her and Tohoru could not ignore. Sunako was happy about one thing though. For the most part she was going to be left alone. Tohoru had, in not so sensitive terms, told Koaru that she had forbade him from becoming a Death Eater. Though Tohoru had his own mind, or at least he thought he did, whatever Sunako said went, eventually. Sunako had been tormented by the men for half her life when she had been a servant for the main household so she would be damned if she was going to be married to one.

Her lab was closed for the night where the prototypes for the Shiruba Kumo (Silver Spider) where locked up for safe keeping. Her expiraments where going well and soon they would nave near human intelligence. She wished dearly that she could spend her time while Bikaru was asleep to continue her work but this was one even that they couldn't miss. That and Tohoru said that for once she would have fun. She promised eternal damnation to him if he was lying to her. She passed the nannies that where going to take care of Bikaru for the night and gave each of them a look that said quite clearly that each of them was being watched. They didn't doubt it. Some of Sunako's smaller creations served as her eyes and ears in the house. More of them as guards for the little boy. The staff of Tohoru and Sunakp's house hold where terrified of Sunako but they knew that it was by far the most fair. Sunako had chosen a simple black dress and white jacket combination for this even but even that looked stunning one the girl that everyone compared with a Veela. She waited by the front door for her husband and escort.

 

[Tohoru Koshiba]

Tohoru checked his tie once more in the mirror to make sure it was done right. Where was Sunako to make sure that it was perfect? She knew that he was helpless when it came to things like this and he didn't trust any of the maids to help him. Most where hoping that he would take a mistress but he had no interest in doing so. No he was still very much in love with his wife and he knew that he would remain that way until his dying day. It had taken him years to be able to tell Sunako his feelings for her but once he had everything seemed to fall into place. They where married a nine months later she had given birth to their son who was asleep in his nursery. Yes everything was perfect for Tohoru except for his damn tie.

Giving up and making his way downstairs he stopped in front of the doors to Bikou's nursery to listen. Opening the doors he walked over to the crib to peer down at his sleeping son. Smiling down at the child who gave him much joy he tiptoed out making sure not to make a sound as he closed the doors. He knew that Sunako would have his head if he woke the child. Finally joining his wife by the door he studied the women. She was beautiful there was no doubt about it. From the way she carried herself and how the dress fit on her it made Tohoru want to skip out of the meeting and take his wife to bed. Giving his a quick peck on the lips so as to not ruin her make up he gave her a smile. Sun do you think you could fix my tie for me?" Tohoru asked with a sheepish grin on his face. She had showed him many times how to do but for one reason or another he had never been able to get the hang of it.

[Sunako Koshiba]

Sunako looked at the tie before grabbing it and doing the knot for him. Tohoru was useless sometimes but she loved him all the same. For some odd reason. She thought as she pulled it up slightly too tight so he would come down to her height. "We go in, we say hi, we eat, we leave. just because we are required to be there doesn't mean I have to tolerate your family for too long." She half way hiss at him before she loosened it and let him go. There where several things making Sunako irate tonight. One of them was having to make a public aprerance when she despised the whole lot of the Four Families, the fact that she was going to be required to smile when she didn't want to and the fact the entire even was going to be reported upon by the Japanese Profit. She dreaded when Bikaru was old enough to attend these parties because she would have to watch him like a hawk. He was hare to the Koshiba empire after all which marked him for death to some of the other Families.

"After your announcement I thought that your father would have make it a law that we are not to show our faces at these kinds of things." She said as she headed out the door the butler held open for them. He knew better than to give Sunako the sweeping look that most men gave her outside of the home. It wasn't Tohoru that would gauge his eyes out ether. Sunako would never admit it but having to go was better now that she was Tohoru's wife and that he was there with her. Well that and Eden who had become nicer to her once she had accepted the assignment that the young master Silverback had given her. Oh that and the baby that she had made her a nicer person too. Sunako still didn't completely trust her but that was practicly seeing her as a sister by Koshiba standards. She removed her wand from her purse once they got out into the gardens and waited for Tohoru to do the same. Apperation wasn't technically allowed in the main manor but it was perfectly safe to do it at the gate. Especially when balls and banquets where happening.

 

[Tohoru Koshiba]

Tohoru didn't flinch when he was brought down to his wife's level. He wasn't even surprised when she told him what the plan was for the evening. Normally he would just go along with it but tonight he had to try and put his foot down. "Sunako we can't just leave right away this evening. Something big is happening tonight. All the Koshiba will be there. Father has called Eden back from the Americas and insisted that she leave Aine with her mother." Tohoru hoped that Sunako wouldn't argue with him. If she had a problem he could always tell Koaru about it. Better her than him. Waving his hand two huge men took their places in front of Bikou's room. No one would be entering that room until Tohoru and Sunako returned.

"I thought the same thing but I got an owl from his personally stating that I was to attend and to bring my lovely wife with me. I will try and get us out of there as soon as I can but we have to put on a show." Tohoru said reaching for his wand as they exited the front door. He hated apperating but this was an event where it was called for. Taking his wife's hand he waited for her to do it. He could do it but he always ended up landing a ways off. Tonight if he did that they would be late and heads would roll.

 

[Sunako Koshiba]

After a short but highly unpleasant journey though the netherspace, which is what Sunako called what happened between Apperating and Disaperating, she saw the gates of the ever grand but imposing building that was the main Koshiba manor. "Of course Eden was asked to come, she and Hoshi are prized children to your father. The only reason we're still around is because Bikaru is to take over his empire. That is if one of your sisters doesn't claim the fortune before hand." She said. Sunako herself didn't care about anything that the Families could offer but her child, her baby boy, would be a powerful man and one could not get more powerful than taking the Koshiba throne. She didn't really know where the twins came into all this but she was sure that at one point Bikaru was going to have to face them down too.

The road for her son would be hard but he would overcome. He was already showing signs of the right disposition for it because he rarely cried anymore and was starting to read books with less pictures in them. Sunako was monetering his progress carefully. Sunako was already making arrangements for Bikaru to go to one of the best preschools in the country. "I hope she will be alright though. It would be unfortunate if Bikaru lost his playmate." She said nodding to the guards at the gate to let them in. The prossesion of relatives from the Ichihara, Sato, and Yamamoto clans where walking in too. Most of them didn't even look towards the couple which Sunako was more than happy for as she put her arms around Tohoru's like it was proper for couples to do.

 

[Tohoru Koshiba]

Tohoru almost laughed which he turned into a cough quickly. "Koaru is watching Eden and Hoshi closely. Eden because she went and had a child without the permission of Koaru and we all know Hoshi has already jumped ship once and only returned because she was close to death." Tohoru could remember the day Hoshi had come back to the Koshiba manner all but dead both Eden and his self had to plead with Koaru before he had agreed to spare Hoshi. As they entered the gates Tohoru nodded to a few people who raised an eye to Sunako being on his arm. It seemed that even though announcements had gone out to all the families once Haruhi and Koaru had been informed that Sunako was to have a boy. But most did not believe the rumors.

Know that when their son got older he would become hair to the Koshiba empire Tohoru knew that within the next few years if not sooner they would have to decide who he was going to marry. "Sunako what do you think of engaging or son to Eden's daughter? Eden and her twin are seers not to mention her grandmother is as well. Once Eden is married she will lose the Koshiba name but if Aine was to marry Bikaru than no matter what Eden will remain part of the Koshiba which we know that is what Koaru wants." Tohoru knew that his wife and sister did not really get along but it was perfect. Tohoru knew that Koaru was planning on trying to marrying Aine to one of his new born sons but what if Tohoru could beat him to the punch and secure a marriage for his son first?

 

[Sunako Koshiba]

Sunako's mind was already calculating the pros and cons of what it could mean for them if Bikaru married Aine. Being Eden's child the masses didn't say it out loud but it was whispered. Aine was conseved out of wedlock meaning that she would be used as little more than a baby factory for those that would take her as a bride. Her mother had a reputation but little Aine would not and there was only so much her mother could do. Bikaru would be offered brides from over families to make the bonds between the them stronger but knew that any one of them could be what Hoshi was about to do to Kimihiro with a much greater result. This seemed like a good solution to all their problems. Aine would be saved from a life of being a physic doll and Bikaru would have a wife he could really trust.

"I think my love you have come up with a good idea." She said kissing her husband on the cheek for now. Sunako did so love his rare bursts of intelligence though she did thank the stars that Bikaru seemed to take after her. "We can deal with the competition and complaints that come up later as time goes on but for now we make the announcement that Aine La Fay and Bikaru Koshiba are to be betrothed. Not tonight though there is another matter at hand." She said as she looked around the entrance to the Main Manor. These where not the makings of an engagement party. Haruhi would have had the house renovated not merely redecorated if it meant someone was getting married.

 

[Tohoru Koshiba]

Tohoru could see that his wife was thinking. A knowing smile crossed her face. It meant that she was happy with him. When she kissed him on the cheek and told him that he had come up with a good idea he wanted to pick his wife up and swing her around. She hated when he did that but he loved it. Kissing his wife on the forehead he waved to his sisters as they talked with a couple of distance cousins. One of them he knew was not going to make it out of the party alive. He could see that Hoshi has already slipped a poison into the mans drink and Eden was encouraging him to drink more. Shaking his head he directed his wife closer to his mother and father so that they could greet them. His mother in her signature color of red gave them an approving smile and waved them off. She was already deep in conversation with some mistress of the Sato. He could tell because of the fact she wore blue and a lot of it.

Thinking about what his mother would do if he was to tell anyone his plans Tohoru laughed. "Sun Haruhi would murder me if we didn't give her a chance to spend a insane amount of money for an announcement like that. Also don't you think we should ask Eden how she feels about it? I think she might freak just a little if we told everyone our son was to marry her daughter before we even cleared it with her." Tohoru said with a smile on his face. It would be funny seeing her overreact but at the same time Eden was far better at curses and what not. Tohoru would not want to be on the receiving end of a curse from Eden. Thinking about Aine made Tohoru realize something. "Sunako what do you think about having another child?" Tohoru asked hoping that it would not anger his wife.

 

[Sunako Koshiba]

Sunako nodded. It did make since to tell Eden that they have considered Aine as a bride for their little boy. There would be some that would consider their desition a hasty one because they hadn't looked at all the options but she knew how the other families worked. She could see that her in laws where already working on one of cousins. Sunako was not powder puff herself and if it did turn into a match up between Eden and herself Sunako could hold her own. She was certien it wouldn't though. Eden was a woman of reason Sunako was sure and though they where not on the friendliest of terms it didn't mean that they couldn't come down to an agreement that would benefit both. Tohoru mentioned another baby and Sunako's lips pursed.

"You're lucky I gave birth to the first let alone a second." She said looking sideways at him. Sunako loved her husband very much but she swore to herself that she would never go through that pain again. She looked up at Tohoru and saw that he was really thinking about this. Did he want her eternal suffering? No Tohoru was not like that, he just wanted other child. Sunako brushed her hair off her bang off her shoulder and sighed. "Though it can be taken into consideration." She said slowly as she moved her head from side to side. She took a flute of champagne to help her.

 

[Tohoru Koshiba]

Tohoru thought about the last person who had come to Eden asking for something to do with Aine. It had not been pretty. As a matter of fact it had been downright scary. Eden could be a reasonable person but when it came to Aine it seemed Eden valued the child more than anything else. Yes if this where to work they would have to do it very carefully. In the end Tohoru knew that they would all come to an agreement. The hard part was going to be having Eden and Sunako in the same room long enough to make this happen. As the guy Eden and Hoshi had decided to poison fall to the ground very obviously dead he couldn't help but laugh when his sisters laughed and high five'd one another before wondering off looking for there next target.

Tohoru knew that Sunako having their son had been a challenge at best. But he remembered what it was like growing up with Hoshi and than Eden and Lilith. He was sure that Bikaru would adore having a little sister. As Sunako said she would think about Tohoru got a knowing smile on his face. Taking his wife's arm he led her down the hall and opened the door to a closet he knew was empty.
